Siding reviews in North Andover

    A J Wood Construction Inc
We replaced our existing clapboard siding with Alside Harbour Blue siding with vinyl trim corners and kept our existing deck and porch frame but replaced the boards and railings with trek and composite railings. AJ Wood and his team were extremely professional and hardworking. We couldn't be happier with the quality of their work and have received a large number of compliments on our home. We would highly recommend AJ Wood and his team for your next project.

    Twomey & Legare Contracting Inc
The job was performed by three workers from Twomey and Legare who Doug occasionally stopped by to check in on. During the process of installing the vinyl siding one of the workers pointed out to me that it wasnt correct when they were finishing the front of the house. After pointing out this improper installation to Doug he grudgingly agreed to have it fixed, something which was done incorrectly a second time. After several attempts to contact Doug by phone none of my calls were ever returned and no one ever showed up to fix the glaringly obvious siding issues. At this point in time the vinyl siding has noticeably rippled and looks absolutely horrible.

E B Window And Siding Co
I got estimates from about 5 different contractors who used different types of siding.  I was considering going with Harvey siding but did my research and comparison and felt I could not justify the price of Harvey.  I looked at houses the contractors had done, compared prices, and compared reviews of the different types of siding out there.  I worked with Colin from EB siding; he was prompt professional and knowledgeable.  The siding they used is Alside vinyl which has a very good rating against much more expensive sidings.  The individuals who did the work were polite, professional and respectful of the environment.  They cleaned up after themselves and never left a mess from one day to the next.  They took care of the extra little details such as they bought me new numbers for my house and hung the outside lights.  People who drive buy slow down to look at the house and neighbors have asked me about the job. A contractor that is doing mason work at my house is going to use them for one of his houses, he was impressed with their work. We couldn't be happier with the result and the choice we made.  In addition it has a lifetime guarantee and it is transferable if we sell the house.  I would highly recommend this company.

    Solid State Construction
Services provided were as agreed.  The quality of the products and experienced workmanship added up to an excellent finished product..  The time needed to complete the job was reasonably in line with the promises of the contractor.  All in all, this large undertaking ended up very well.

    K&R Contractors
Ken did an excellent job of replacing rotten corner posts and damaged siding on our garage.
I have used Ken's services in the past so I was very comfortable in having him do the work when I wasn't present as he is reliable and trustworthy.  The quality of his work is excellent and I can always count on him for good advice.

    Homescapes of New England
    - Original work done in fall of 2014
    • - I hired Homescapes to replace fascia and soffit and they proceeded to cause significant damage to my existing siding.
    • - When installing the new fascia boards, they also left the tails uncut, so that the fascia was extending 6-8 inches beyond each corner of the house.
    • - When I expressed concern about the workmanship, their initial response was, "...we'll fix that when we do the siding.."  We were not under contract to do the siding.  We were only under contract for soffit and fascia.
    • - They eventually came back and "fixed" the damage they caused by installing aluminum trim over the exposed areas of the siding they they damaged, cut back the tails of the fascia and installed foam in the gaps they left between the new fascia board and roofline.
    • - In March of 2015, the newly installed fascia board on one side of the house became detached from the rafters, leaving one side of my house completely exposed to the elements.  Lynette sent out the team who did the original installation to "inspect" the situation.  They first told me it was an issue caused by the new gutters I had installed.  They then said it was caused by the harsh winter.  Suffice to say, I had to pay Homescapes another $300 to replace the fascia.  After everything I went through with this company, I would have expected them to honor the contract and fix the damage they caused at no cost to me.

I would never hire Homescapes of New England again and would recommend that anyone considering working with them to stay away from this company.

    All Under One Roof
John, Troy, and the team from All Under One Roof are excellent. We are very happy with the outcome of the work and got compliments from all the neighbors about how much of an improvement it was for the curb appeal of our house. During the quote process John and Troy's attention to detail was great and they pointed out things that needed to be done that other contractors didn't - such as replacing the gutters to look "new" along with the siding - so there were no hidden surprises in the project cost. The team worked in a professional manner, and were all nice guys who were on time each day and did their best to not disrupt our day to day lives. The project finished on time and at exactly the cost John and Troy quoted, and we are very happy with the work, so we would recommend All Under One Roof without reservations.

    The Norden Company Builders
I had previously had Dutch work in my home and when the time came to do additional work I felt more comfortable with someone I knew. I had contracted Dutch to replace the roof and siding on my home. He was the most expensive of all the bidders but he was willing to do some additional work for me included in the price. That being said he was still high but I wanted to be comfortable with someone in and around my home. The siding was older and ugly and the roof was getting up there in years but did not leak. Things started badly when the project started a month late. Then once he started it became apparent quickly that there was a lack of care and quality in the work. The materials were never discussed with me other than colors and there was no descriptions or warranty information on the contract (required by state law). The work area was left a mess at the end of the day with nails and trash everywhere. A roof that should have been stripped and replaced in 2 days took 2 weeks. When it would rain the house leaked everywhere with just tarps to stop the elements. The walls and ceiling have stains and the carpet in one room smells of mildew. All this before the roof was completed. Add the not showing up everyday, showing up late, and leaving early and you can clearly see there's something not quite right. The contract called for a deposit and the amount by completion but Dutch would ask for money weekly. If you did pay him he would go directly to the bank, cash the check, and never come back on the same day. The roof was completed but has lacked after several attempts to correct it, the siding is fair but the flashing and trim is inexcusable. I paid separately to have tile put down and it took him multiple attempts and even then grouted loose tiles so I have since had to replace many of them. Now that I finally at my wits end I find out that he never applied for permits with the town, he clearly kept a substantial amount of money that should have gone into better materials and workmanship. Worse, I called a few people that used Dutch at my recommendation and they were not happy with the work. I have spoken to him several times and after several poor attempts at repairs my roof still leaks. He doesn't deny the work is poor but doesn't do anything to turn this situation around. He has offered me a $5,000 refund but in payments beginning in 2015. I have no belief that he will honor the refund just as he didn't honor the contract. $5,000 doesn't stop the roof from leaking or pay for the likely replacement needed. My wife and I spend every cent we had on this house.
Currently, filed arbitration through the state and have been told that my case has been approved to move forward.  Also, found out that The Norden Company has been operating without the required insurance.  I had to have the roof replaced again for an additonal $10,000.  While the faulty roofing was removed the contractor showed me that there was no ice and water barrier on the outer perimeter of the roof eventhough Dutch said it was and says so on the contract.  Roofing shingles did not match the warranty listed on the contract and after sending pictures of Dutch's installation I was told by the manufacturer of the shingles that based on the improper installation the warranty would have been voided.  Through massive amount of leaks over the last 9 months I have $10,000 in water damage to ceilings, walls, insulation, and carpet.
Please if you have any questions or issues please feel free to contact me to discuss.

Extreme Makeover Custom Home Repair Handyman, LLC
John was very responsive to our request for a quote. He looked at the job the same day I called and came up with a quote quickly. He kept in touch about when he would perform the work. He arrived when he said he would and completed the work efficiently and neatly. He also spotted a couple of other rot problems while on the job and repaired those as well. We would definitely hire him again.
