    TERRIBLE !!! THEY MIS-DIAGNOSISED THE PROBLEM and then could not get the part or over a month...so i independently got the part and got a technician to put the part in and it did not solve the problem. I contacted another contractor who came out and correctly diagnosed the problem and had the part with them and fixed the MINOR problem in less than 5 minutes. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!!~

    I have used them, and they have been really good. They gave us a partial refund, because they couldn't get the part on. How knowledgeable he really was. He seemed to know the dishwasher extremely well. He was able to give me recommendations on new, since we could not fix this one.

    I called and provided info and the repairman called me back in less than 90 minutes. 
    He came to my house right away and was very professional. 
    He took my dryer apart and diagnosed the problem like a highly skilled surgeon.
    He had the part on his truck, then wrote up the exact cost to ask if that was ok and was helpful and knowledgeable with the advice. 
    All in all, the problem was fixed from making the call to him leaving my house in less than 3 hours. Great company.  I would use them again in a second.

    Scheduling worked out pretty well. We ended up not having to replace or even repair the unit. They were able to provide us with good information even though there was nothing for them to do. The technician was professional. The experience was everything I had expected and we were pleased.

    OK, I'm the kind of person who used to do a lot of her own appliance repairs -- in fact, my husband has fond memories from when we were first dating  and talking to me on the phone while I was on my knees fixing my dryer (must have been love -- I didn't even have a speaker phone). Back in those days, I had to go to Sears, pull the microfiche, look at the exploded schematic, figure out what part(s) I needed, place a order, wait for the part to come in and then fix it.  But that was then.  This is now: I've been sick for a couple of years, my husband is appliance-phobic (remember: he married me because I could fix a dryer)  and the bottom-mount freezer is icing up and leaking all over the place. I didn't even have the energy to Google the repair history on the model.  So I rang up Advanced Appliance Service and ask them to take a look.
    When the repairman arrived, I told my husband he was going to have to deal with him.  I figured the best way for him to get over his appliance-phobia was to have appliance repair demystified a bit. At first my husband wanted to hang out at the truck with the repairman's  dog (dogs he loves) but the was finally persuaded to come back inside. The repairman was very good about explaining what he was doing (This is your refrigerator. This is the back of your refrigerator...) After the repairman left my husband proudly showed me his prize: a mangled defrost drain check valve. "See right here," he said, sticking his finger into it, "It's designed too small, and it gets gunked up and backs up."  I admit I kicked myself for a few seconds -- back in the day, I could have fixed it myself -- but the important point is, Advanced Appliance Services  did (and I want to point out that they could have faked that it need a much more expensive repair. The "symptoms" could have been caused by something like a bad thermostat. An unscrupulous repairman could have claimed that was the problem, removed the valve and billed for the more expensive problem)- and made a friend of my husband in the process.  Sure, my husband's never going to actually fix anything -- it took him years to master the subtleties of the lint trap --  but now he understands most appliance failures aren't catastrophic, and can easily be fixed with a quick call to Advanced Appliance Service.
    (Anyone who cannot fix their own appliances can feel confident in calling Advanced Appliance Service. I have not indicated a price for the repair call because it was a coupon price. However, regular price would still be reasonable.)

    The front office for Waltham Appliance was very responsive. I left a message on the answering machine about my leaky dishwasher. They called back right away and were friendly and polite. I got an appointment for the very next day. The tech arrived on time and was also very professional. He had all the parts needed to fix my dishwasher in his van!! Great service both times I've used Waltham Appliance.

    It didn't go so well.

    basically they were very friendly and they did a good job at what they did. But the problem was after that left another leak had opened up inside the wall. And I think it was because they had disturbed the pipe. They were willing to come over and assess it. But once I realized what had happened, I basically had a friend and myself fix it because it was up inside the walls and, unfortunately, it caused a terrible problem. But we were able to fix it. If we had them come back, they were something like if another problem was caused by this problem we can't cover it. Maybe they did tell me it could create problems if they try to fix this pipe - and it did create problems - and it would have cost way too much to try and fix it. I had to cut holes in the walls and repair the pipes myself with some putty. They weren't willing to do it that way anyways because it wouldn't meet the code and it was just a terrible mess!

    I know they were very well recommended. But I was not happy with the way the job went and I can't really say it was their fault, because it maybe would have happened no matter who did it, but I basically regretted having them come.

    They were very professional but it caused a terrible mess. I don't even know if its their fault because they warned me that it could create this problem. But they weren't careful enough - I didn't think so. They caused another problem with this repair that they had told me they couldn't completely avoid and so I took the risk. It just created a terrible mess and maybe it was unavoidable but I ended up having to fix it myself because it would have cost too much to get a plumber to come fix it to meet the code.

    The price was average. Or maybe it was above average. I didn't have a problem with the price.
