  • I originally hired them for a new chimney cap, chimney repair & pointing a field stone foundation. The team was punctual, informative, reasonably priced, and cleaned up daily. Based on the work they just completed, I then hired them to tear out an old cement landing and replaced it with granite and field stone. Very happy with all of the work they performed.

  • Eric and his team are the most efficient and reliable contractors I have used in 40 years of doing renovations. Prep work was done in a half day, framing was done in less than a day, insulating was done in a few hours, plastering was done in less than a day, all remaining finishing work was done in less than a day. Eric made every effort to make sure things were ready for the plumber, electrician and counter guys (whom I managed since what's more fun than being your own general contractor?). I think there were three things that helped make this successful: Eric is very responsive by text, email and phone; we documented details and so the overall project actually came in on budget (generally, I think the more details noted, the less room for confusion); we discussed a few small changes and found acceptable solutions. It had been awhile since I've done this kind of project and I learned a lot too about some new materials and methods (or at least ones I haven't used before). Sometimes I feel contractors don't believe a woman knows about anything other than paint colors. This was a very positive experience where I feel I had an excellent partner to help me make good decisions to make the space very usable for my family while increasing the value of the home as inexpensively as possible.

  • We are very happy with the final product. It was a large project, with a unique design and not the usual cookie cutter house. Everything is custom and the contractor has done a fantastic job. The overall character of the design was understood by the contractor and the 'contemporary' theme was carried out as per our wishes. The finishes are neat, clean, and top class- showroom quality! Moreover, the contractor, Bill, provided extremely valuable input and recommendations which improved the existing plans, resulting in an astounding state of the art dwelling. The entire project consisted of a large two story addition with full foundation, a large picture window with a window seat, roof, skylights, grand open foyer, cathedral ceilings in living room, dining room, gym, master bedroom suite with custom bathroom and dual walk-in closets, kitchenette with laundry, and custom office. The open plan kitchen has custom cabinets and quartz countertops. In fact, the custom office area was originally wasted space and thanks to Bill’s foresight and recommendations, the wasted space was transformed into a unique office area, overlooking the first floor living room. Bill is a very nice guy and easy to work with. He was always asking to make sure that we are happy with the work done. He ensured that the final product was to our liking and satisfaction. Bill was also considerate when we wanted some changes in the design and we worked it out with relevant and appropriate 'change orders'. Bill is extremely knowledgeable and professional and he is also flexible to accommodate your perspective. Bill and his company is the best choice for any construction project. In fact, we are hiring Bill for our next project, the basement.

  • The job was extremely well done and very easy.  The team was incredibly professional and quick to respond to any questions or concerns.  I would hire them again and I recommend them without reservation.

  • We live in a house that was built in the 1950s. We did an addition in 2003, but now were looking to reconfigure, update our kitchen and add living space in the basement below the addition along with a bathroom there. Plus, the older basement and the laundry area needed finishing. It was a big project. I talked to 4-5 contractors before deciding on Scott.
Scott returned my call promptly and when he came over he went over the various aspects of the project and we felt at ease with him. He spent a lot of time and took detailed measurements and gave us an estimate that was broken down into reasonable tasks and sub-tasks. Scott worked with us to figure out how to make the project fall within our budget. Plus, he worked with us in adding and removing the tasks that we wanted others (painting, carpeting) to do for us instead.
Scott is hardworking and efficient. Scott's colleague John is also a great worker. They were punctual and I could call them pretty much anytime and they returned calls promptly. Both Scott and John worked diligently on the project. We had to get this project done by a certain time since we were going to have guests over and they made sure that the project got done before that.
They were friendly, courteous and we had conversations with them about a lot of different things. It was interesting to find that they are multi-talented and have several other interests and hobbies (Scott flies planes, keeps bees .. while John has been trained as a musician!). John also fixed strings of my daughter's guitar!
I highly recommend them and their services.

  • Jeremy had some insightful, practical suggestions for how to improve my property around my foundation and a few problem areas with the foundation of my house and garage.  He didn't try to pitch any unnecessary work, and in fact most of the items he suggested are items his company doesn't do.  My one complaint is that the $500 "repair credit" was subject to an unstated minimum order.  The $99 price, however, was reasonable for the services rendered.  I'm glad I didn't buy two offers as suggested in the Big Deal to increase the repair credit.

  • Our experience working with Marcello was terrific, start-to-finish.  For the initial consultations, Marcello brought in his architect Dave, who worked with us to design a great space, and met with us online to share his renderings and make modifications.  Marcello's estimate included three parts - the main rec room (which we went forward with), a laundry room / half bath, which we decided to postpone for now, and soundproofing a music room, which we also chose to postpone for now.  The main rec room was our priority, but it was nice to see forethought into what we could do with the other space down the road.
The work started when planned, with Marcello's team doing all the permitting and coordination with inspectors as well as the work itself.  For the most part, the work ran on schedule, with one exception being our decision to special order carpeting, which delayed part of the work by about three weeks.  Whenever we had questions or concerns, Marcello was very accessible and responsive, and clarified how they would be addressed, which they were.
One issue we ran into was that we wanted to remove a support column, as was part of the plans.  While at first this seemed feasible according to the structural engineer Marcello worked with, it turned out much more difficult to remove, and after a second review by the engineer, it was determined that there would likely be some foundation settling if the column was removed.  We were at first very disappointed about needing to leave it, but Marcello worked with us to box the column in a way that blended with the rest of the decor, and it turned out nice.
This type of responsiveness on the part of Marcello and his team was the norm for the duration of the project.  The work has just been completed, and we love the results.
I would offer Marcello two small recommendations to consider for future projects:
    1.  There were a couple of times where we agreed to something with Marcello, but when his project manager arrived the next morning, he had not been brought up to speed on our decisions.  Ultimately all the issues were resolved, but I would recommend Marcello make sure to communicate with his team directly after decisions are made with the client to minimize conflicting information and be as efficient as possible
    2.  I would recommend that Marcello go over carpet samples earlier in the process in case his client wants to special order - we didn't see the samples until a couple of weeks in, and had we seen them earlier, we could have placed the order while framing and plastering work were still going on, possibly resulting in a shorter delay
At the end of the day, our project turned out great and stayed within the agreed-upon budget.  We will definitely put Marcello at the top of our list to work with again should we have other projects in the future, and we wholeheartedly recommend his services to others.

  • The company did an overall good job and quoted the lowest price compared to several other estimates. However I would bring up the following issues:1.  Didn't always come when they said they would, and when they left they would say they were "picking up supplies" and then not come back. Since we didn't need many supplies, clearly they were out at other ongoing jobs. Why not be honest and just say then that you're going to check on other jobs?2.  Asked for more money at the end of the job than was agreed upon, without using extra supplies/etc to account for this increased amount. Needed a reminder that that was not the agreed upon amount.

  • I haven’t done any work with them but I am considering them.  They have been professional.  I don’t know about their work, but they have been timely when responding and their follow-up has been very good.

  • I called Marcello to set up an appointment and he came and gave me an estimate which I thought was very fair. He showed up on time with his flooring guy to introduce us as he would be doing all the work.. Within a few hours he had ripped out the old flooring and prepped the area for the new flooring. I must say that his flooring guy was a real craftsman as he made sure the new flooring lined up with every nook and cranny especially around the molding and the closets. They finished the job in a day like they said they would and they even removed an old broken refrigerator for me. I have never done a review on Angie's list before.but felt compelled to do so as I never expected this level of craftsmanship for an installation of basement floor.
