Jeff Veglia Remodeling & Tile Contracting
We had previously hired Jeff Veglia Remodeling for our 3,200 sq. ft. home's gut renovation (4 bedroom, 3, bath, kitchen, new windows, high efficiency furnace, hot water heater, high velocity A/C, modernization of the floor plan, wall reconfiguration, tile, flooring, paint, etc.) and we were extremely satisfied with the price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism of Jeff and his entire team. So when looking to completely renovate our basement into a comfortable modern living space, we didn't hesitate in our contractor selection process. The basements existing conditions included an uneven concrete slab floor with drafty and damp field stone walls and many legacy pipes and electrical conduits to address. There was also an existing working field stone fireplace that we wanted to preserve but it was in dire need of an update. We wanted to create a mud room while creating a play space for both children and adults alike. Jeff immediately had ideas on how we could capitalize on the existing configuration while also assuring a dry and comfortable space for all seasons. While keeping our budget in mind Jeff's team doesnt cut corners on what the job requires. They spray foamed the exterior field stone foundation walls, framed, sheet rocked and took the extra step of plastering for a superior finished look on the walls. The floors were leveled and laid with high quality wood grained porcelain tiles. The flooring provides the look of real wood but has the high traffic durability and moisture resilience of porcelain. It's a perfect solution for a basement environment. We rebuilt the original and very worn pine staircase with red oak. It was also widened with a staggered wall detail for an open modern architectural look. The fireplace was stripped and acid washed and the mortar work redone. We added a new absolute black honed granite mantle and hearth which gives it a clean contemporary look while still respecting the original fireplace stone work dating from the 1920s. The recessed lighting is all warm dimmable LEDs and the heat is a European Buderus radiator system which provides extremely efficient and ambient heat throughout. Elvis, Jeffs righthand man on site and finishing Carpenter (and all around rock star) worked with our ideas and paper napkin drawings making them a reality. He built detailed and functional built in shelving and benches for both the main room and the mudroom. In summary, there are a lot of contractors out there. But do yourself a favor and hire a known quantity who has the experience and the resources to back it up. Jeff Veglia Remodeling delivers on the promise. In fact, we were so confident in Jeff Veglia Remodeling ability that we recommended him to two close friends of ours who ultimately hired him. I suspect youll be seeing very similar reviews to this one from our friends soon.

    Eddie and Simon
Eddie and Simon were extremely responsive, professional, competitively priced and did outstanding work. We're renovating our home and my existing front steps were the original stones from 1923. The mortar was cracked and trapping water against the house causing water damage. Further they simply looked very dated. I called Eddie and Simon who stopped by my house within 24 hours. They reviewed the job, detailed what needed to be done and quoted me a price on site. They even said, "if you don't like the work we do, don't pay me." That was some guarantee! Of course I didn't need to take them up on their offer because I was extremely happy with the work that was performed. Oh, and they even let my son get in on the fun. We couldn't be happier.

    Dimitris Painting & Masonry
Dimitri and his men were punctual and did a beautiful job! I was worried about having to pay a lot, but their services were affordable. They cleaned the surrounding so that it was better than when they started. Will definitely call again next time we need masonry work done!1

    DiOrio Builders & Designers Inc
Derek was very clear about the work that needed to be done. He was comfortable working with me to get the details right in the contract and he delivered as described. We originally contracted with him to do the driveway and then he noticed the structural problems in our garage. There was no hard sell on his part about the additional work--he was very low key, gave me the information I needed, and gave me space to decide. He did the work at a difficult time of the year--November/December when the weather is often not right for concrete to set. He communicated very well about what he was and wasn't going to be able to do when. And at the end of the project, he went the extra mile and added an asphalt patch where the driveway met the street at no extra cost.

    Devirgilio Masonry
Very pleased with the whole job. He was prompt, professional, and the work still looks great after this past winter. Based on several quotes the brick repair was complex, however Devirgilio Masonry did it for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend and will definitely be using them again soon!

Jeff Veglia Remodeling & Tile Contracting
Our 1920s home is 3,100 square feet and required significant renovations to meet our modern lifestyle. My wife and I are in the design business [*** Link removed ***] so were very particular about the design and quality of the work to be preformed in our home. I have also renovated several homes, Im pretty handy myself and have a fair amount of contracting knowledge. So I know what what to expect, how the work should be performed and the costs associated with it. We interviewed six highly rated contractors in a highly vetted and competitive bid process. Jeff set himself apart with his reviews on a number of highly reputable sites (including this one), home owner references (of which there are many) and team (plumbers, electricians, tilers, painters, finishing carpenters, plasterers, masons, suppliers, etc.). His team of subs all have been working together for over 20 years and take tremendous pride in their work. Theyll show you pictures of their work like the projects are their children. Best of all they all have worked together on so many projects that they complete each others sentences. So nothing gets lost in translation between the customer, contractor and sub. Jeff also has his own crew who are incredibly dedicated, skilled, hardworking (i.e. removed a two story brick chimney in 3 days) and polished. One notable member of his team is Elvis (and yes he's a rock star too). He is the go to person for any challenges faced during a project. He's highly knowledgable and skilled. And his easy going, "we can do that" attitude with a smile is always welcomed. Having spent months with him, my kids consider him their long lost uncle. The renovation included a complete gut of the kitchen, 2.5 baths and four bedrooms. We have completely updated the electrical, plumbing, windows, HVAC, furnace and hot water system. Added French Doors and skylights. We removed an obsolete two story brick furnace chimney which recaptured significant square footage. We have reconfigured and optimized most of the rooms and removed several load bearing walls to create an open floor plan. We refaced our fireplace in honed granite and replaced the fire brick. We're in the midst of finishing half our basement which will include a wood burning fireplace adding 610 square feet of living space. We also plan on renovating the attic into a living space with heating/cooling, new windows and skylights as part of phase two. Thus far there is no challenge we have thrown at Jeff that he hasnt been able to address. Hes a consummate professional, honest, reasonable and the quality of work is outstanding. Further, the communication is excellent. He is always available (Saturday and Sunday if need be) and provides nearly daily updates with the progress of our project. I know I was thankful for the feedback I received from homeowners when making my contractor decision. Im happy to do the same for someone else.

    Above and Beyond Chimney Service
I was really pleased with the outcome. The before and after was so apparent that driving up you could see the difference immediately. It kept to the original design so It does not look off. I would recommend to others needing similar work.

    BrickStone Masonry Inc.
We contacted Brickstone Masonry via their webpage link. Ashley responded, contacting us on 1/28 asking for photos of the space. I responded on 1/29 with photos and a drawing of what we were looking for in terms of work. Ashley responded on 1/30 promising a quote by end-of-day. Nothing was delivered/emailed. I followed up on 2/2 inquiring. Ashley wrote back saying they were busy and I would receive something by the end of the weekend. Three weeks later and radio silence. Disappointing.

    Above and Beyond Chimney Service
Above and Beyond Chimney service truly earns their name. Todd's work, professionalism and communication were all excellent. Todd came out to our house and gave us a very detailed estimate of what we needed along with a few recommendations. We had several estimates and Above and Beyond was the lowest and most detailed. Todd responded to questions via phone, text and email in a very timely manner. The quality of the tuckpointing, new crown and cap is top shelf. Todd also looked at our liner for us while he was out at the house. I would recommend Above and Beyond Chimney service for any chimney work and will definitely hire them for any future work.
