    Excert from a letter I sent to Michael Garda, President/Owner of the company:
    In August 2012 engaged Garda Nee to perform certain services.  The cost for said services was $3400.  I paid the company $1700, 50% of the total cost, with an understanding that the work would begin on either September 5 or 8, 2012.  I was told that the work would take approximately 2-3 days to complete.
    On Tuesday, September 4, 2012 I received an email from Michael Garda indicating that the work would not begin due to the weather.  I was assured that it would begin on either September 11 or 12th, and would be complete on either September 13
    or 14th depending upon the start date. 
    On September 10, 2012 Mr. Garda indicated that the work would begin on September 12, 2012.  Mr. Garda shared
    that materials would be delivered to my property on September 11, 2012 and confirmed a September 12, 2012 start date.
    On September 11, 2012 Mr, Garda indicated that he needed to push the start date back again to September 13, 2012 citing weather delay resulting from rain that occurred in New York on September 8, 2012. 
    On September 12, 2012 Mr, Garda sent me an email indicating that he would arrive at my home by 7:30 am on September 13, 2012 to begin the work.    I expressed my concern about the delays.
    On September 13, 2012 at 11:30 am Mr. Garda arrived at my home to perform services.  He started to lay the sod which he indicated was the initial reason for the start delay.  He did not have enough sod to complete the job and indicated that he would return on September 14, 2012 to complete the job.  He laid mulch on one side of the house and in the front, he did no other work.
    On September 14, 2012 he emailed me and indicated that he would be unable to get the sod, but assured me that if the sod could not be delivered until Monday, September 17, 2012 he would come to my property on Saturday, September 15, 2012 to water the lawn so it would not die while waiting for him to install the sprinklers.
    On September 15, 2012 he emailed me and indicated that because of the rain he would arrive by noon to drop off materials.  It stopped raining by 10:30 am on Saturday.  No work was completed on Saturday.
    On Sunday, September 16, 2012, he indicated that he would drop off materials and that the work would begin on Monday.  The sod was scheduled for a Monday delivery.  I expressed my concern about the delays.
    On Monday, September 17, 2012 Mr. Garda emailed me at approximately 7:30 am indicating that you would be on my property from 12 noon-7:00 pm to complete the work.  At approximately 12 noon on the same day he sent me an email indicating that the
    sod was being delivered to your office and as a result you needed to wait for it and would not arrive to do any work until Tuesday, September 18, 2012.  I expressed my concerns again.
    On Tuesday, September 18, 2012 I emailed Mr. Garda at approximately 8:00 am asking for confirmation that he would arrive to complete the work he started.  I indicated that while he was allegedly experiencing delays with the sod delivery there was
    other contracted work that could and should be completed - work that was within his control to complete.  I told him
    that the work needed to be completed by that day.  He confirmed that he would be on site by 10 am.
    At 9:30 am on the same day he sent me a text message stating that the sod was not delivered on Monday?which he knew on Monday?and did not inform a result he could not do any work until Friday.  I asked him to call me to discuss the matter.
    At 9:40 am after not receiving a phone call, I emailed him indicating that the delays were unprofessional and that I had lost confidence in his ability and willingness to complete the work.  I told him that I needed to hire someone who could complete the work and that we needed to discuss his compensation.  I asked him to call me.  I did not receive a phone call from him , but
    the emails that followed indicated that he believed he had performed the services and conducted yourself in a professional manner.
    I went to the location noted as your office to speak with him in person given that I could not get a phone call from him.  There was no office but I saw him in the neighborhood and asked to speak with him.  We discussed my concern and dis-satisfaction with the way the engagement was being handled.  He indicated that the work delays were out of your control because of the sod.  I
    expressed to him that even if I believed him regarding the sod that didn?t explain his lack of performance with respect to the other work.  The laying of sod was only a portion of the work I hired his company to complete.  I
    also hired him to weed and mulch my property; trim my tree and bushes; install
    a fence; clean-up and restore my patio; extend my patio; and repair a water
    feature.  All of that work has absolutely nothing to do with sod delivery.  That work could have and should have been completed.
    He indicated that you would send a crew to my home on
    Thursday, September 20, 2012 to complete all work with the exception of the sod
    because the sod would not be delivered until Friday, September 21, 2012.
    On Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 8:44 am he emailed me to
    say that he was on his way.   At 8:55
    am he indicated that the work would be completed by Friday with no reference
    to him being on your way to my house.  I
    emailed him and asked if he planned to arrive at my home on Thursday as agreed
    to perform the services.  I did not
    receive a response.  The sod was
    delivered on Thursday morning.  I text
    him at 11 am to let him know that the sod had arrived.  No response. 
    I called him to ask what your estimated time of arrival was, no
    response.  I did not hear from him after
    8:55 on Thursday morning.
    On Friday, September 21, 2012  I called him several times.  I received no response.
    I contacted the turf company and indicated to them that I had not heard from him and they indicated that he owed them money and that they were looking for him too.   
    At this point Garda Nee Land Improvement is a bust.  Buyer Beware...not only did they run off with my money, they did not do the work correctly or completely so now I have to hire someone else...spend more money...and I missed an entire season of warm weather...very disappointing.
