    Mike was awesome! He emailed me immediately and made a day to come look at the job, he was prompt getting to my house. He even made sure he got there early when he heard I wanted to get to a spin class at the gym! He gave me a price and explained exactly what he would do. The next day he started the job, the day after he finished it. He cleaned up nicely and left the old stairs cut into smaller pieces so it was easier for me to dispose of. Mike is very smart in how he approaches a job, he doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need and in my case, I was very budget conscious so he did all he could to keep the costs down. He came in on budget. I will be using Mike again.

    We hired Green Valley Construction to gut and renovate a full bath; tile and put in new sink and toilet in a 1/2 bath; and tile a breezeway. Matt's prices were fair and did not exceed the estimate. He was very responsive throughout the whole job. The work completed was done well and we are happy with the final outcome. I would definitely recommend and hire Green Valley Construction for future jobs!

    Matt was amazing! We���ve had other major renovation projects done on our house, and Matt by far was the best contractor we have ever worked with. He was extremely responsive, punctual and professional. He kept us updated on every aspect of our project and requested our input at key points throughout the process. For example, we wanted sliding barn doors installed in a slightly unconventional space and Matt worked tirelessly to make them look and work perfectly. In any major project, there are bound to be some issues, and Matt was responsive and quickly resolved all of our concerns. We have several future projects imagined and can���t wait to work with him again. In addition to being a great contractor, Matt and his team (especially Vern) were a delight to have around, friendly and approachable. Highly recommended!

    After getting three quotes we ultimately hired Dave because the quote was reasonable, and he really seemed to know what he was doing. We are so glad we did. We needed an old, less-than-safe porch taken down, and replaced with a new porch that descended down into an expanded deck. It was beautifully done. It was also done timely with attention to detail. When Dave was working on our deck, ours was his only job until it was done - and he was really patient with all our questions and last minute requests - both of which we really appreciated. Overall, we found him responsive, clear about costs and expectations, and skilled at his work. We would happily recommend him to friends and family, or hire him again.

    The workers showed up on time, worked steadily and efficiently, and got the job done in a reasonable time. They did good work which met my expectations. My only quibble was that they set the table saw up in the room where they were installing the flooring. We had removed everything from the floor, of course, but there were things on shelves that got covered with dust and grit from the saw. The weather was mild, and they could have placed the saw on the screened-in porch, which was also cleared. They did move the saw to the porch when we requested it, so that���s a point in their favor. We have used Stronger before, and were happy enough with their work to hire them again. We will be hiring them yet again for some exterior work when the weather warms. The only caveat is that they usually work by the hour (a very reasonable rate). If you are used to paying by the job, you might be surprised that cleanup and debris removal comes at an extra cost. That is reasonable, as they work by the hour, but you should factor in extra $$ for cleanup.

    Fernando was very communicative and I appreciated how quickly he would flag the few issues that arose as early as possible and layout our options to move forward. His crew was over 2-3 times a week and the project took about 3 months from demo to final sign off. Every member of his team we met was professional and polite and made sure they understood what we were looking for before proceeding. I particularly appreciated his thoughts on an approach to installing our floating shelves which came out beautifully and for a fraction of the cost we thought they would thanks to his creativity using stronger but less expensive bracket that he then buried into the wall to create the "floating shelf" effect. He was the most expensive quote we received but we went with him because he was able to back up his quote with the most credibility in terms of really understanding the scope of work and his commitment to working with his subcontractors and the city inspector to get things done properly and up to code. We paid exactly what was initially quoted apart from an electrical upgrade which F had flagged at the beginning of the project as something that the city inspector would likely require (and he was right).

    I am really happy with how everything turned out. We've gotten a lot of compliments from our neighbors on the house. The carpentry crew did an excellent job with the siding on the back of the house. They re-created a design of different shingle patterns by the back door that took a lot of their time and attention to detail. They worked long hours to get the job done quickly, but still took the care to make sure was right. They clearly take a lot of pride in their work. A roof section in the back had to be replaced and it was very convenient that they were able to do that as well. The paint job looks great. Several weeks after they finished, I noticed a few minor things that could be re-done to look a little better. Netto's crew came back that week to address those issues to make sure I was 100% satisfied. He provided a guarantee that I would be satisfied with the work and he really meant it.

    This is the worst contractor experience I've ever had in all my years of home ownership. I've waited almost a year to leave this review because I wanted to give myself time to calm down to be able to give an objective review. The following is a list of only some of the issues that occurred, any one of which would be cause for an F rating: 1. NOT LEAD SAFE - My house was built in 1900 and I have two small children (one was 7 months at time of painting) so this was the first thing I requested for all painters who gave a quote and was very important to my wife and I. The first guys that were sent to the house did absolutely no clean up prep let alone any Lead Safe prep. When I complained they came the next day and just put some plastic down. When a new crew was requested for other reasons they made a little more of an effort but obviously had no idea how to prep a house using the Lead Safe precautions. They will tell you that all their employees have taken the Lead Safe certification course and they will show you a certificate that the owners brother took the course. Taking the course does not mean they will properly prep your house. It takes 20 minutes of Googling Lead Safe practices to know that they had no idea what they were doing when it came to this. Months later I was still picking up paint chips in the yard where my kids play and for a while I was too afraid to let them play in the yard. If proper Lead Safe work is important to you then steer very clear of these guys. 2. GOT PAINT ON EVERY SECTION OF MY ROOF (see pics) - Believe it or not on more then one occasion they managed to get a significant amount of paint on every one of the 6 sections of my roof. The first crew literally sprayed primer onto four different sections of my roof up to 6 feet up from the gutter. Other sections had large amounts of paint that was just dropped onto the roof because the workers failed to put down drop cloths, which still just amazes me. Putting down drop cloths is the easiest and most obvious thing a painter should do and they couldn't even do that. Now this was very noticeable from the street on most of the sections and looked terrible. This was a brand new roof, not even a year old, and I had to have the roofers come and replace 4 sections of the roof (the other 2 they couldn't do anything about because it was a rubber roof). The cost of the roof repairs was covered by Motti, $2,900 worth. 3. THEY GOT PAINT EVERYWHERE - A short list of the things they got paint on that couldn't come off; our deck (which wasn't part of the job), our stone front stairs, our bushes and hydrangeas (almost instantly killing all the flowers for the summer), a tarp covering my kids sandbox, down spout extensions, new black mulch, and worst of all white paint handprints on the inside of every first floor dark stained window they worked on (see pic). 4. THE JOB TOOK 7 WEEKS!! - That is not a typo. From the first day they arrived until the last day I couldn't stand having them come back was 49 days (10 rain days during this time). I was told the job would take 2 weeks tops and that was with a couple of rain days. There was a two day delay when we had to switch crews because I didn't want the ones who painted my new roof to come back but that combined with the rain days was still 37 days! I still can't quite comprehend how it took that long but some of it had to do with the next item. 5. EMPLOYEES CONSTANTLY ON THIER PHONES (see pics) - In addition to not being good at painting the employees were always on their phones or chatting. It was a rare occurrence for me to look out the window and not see an employee on his phone. It didn't matter if he was on the roof or three stories up on a ladder they were checking their phone or texting. It was so bad I had two different neighbors approach me separately to tell me that the guys working on my house were barely working and on their phones constantly. I complained a couple of times but this didn't really change unless the owners brother was there, which was maybe a total of 3 days. 6. FLAT OUT POOR QUALITY - The Lead Safe and roof fiasco aside the paint and carpentry job was just very poor quality. We had several walkthroughs where I pointed out things that weren't even painted. Towards the end when the owners brother was trying to do a final push to get the job finished they raced through the trim and edging looked terrible. They flat out missed spots. They didn't properly clean areas they were about to paint. I caught one guy painting the porch floor with a thick layer of pollen on it. The carpenter scratched 4 of the windows (original panes of glass that have been there for over 115 years), and at least two of my interior window casings are loose. They lost two of my gutters, this is not a joke, because they put them under my porch and then encased them in there when they installed lattice to close up underneath the porch. So they had to open it back up and reinstall after getting the gutters, which wasn't done with care because I was able to pull one of the baseboards clean off because they forgot to nail it in. I had to point out that the two gutters were missing and not painted. One of the storm widows doesn't lineup with the interior sash window and another one is noticeably crooked. One month after they were "finished" there was bubbling on a window in the front of the house. I am now noticing peeling all around the house. On the exterior walls and on the trim. I can't tell you how frustrating this is. 7. WORTHLESS WARRANTY - They offer a 5 year warranty on all the painting when you use Benjamin Moore (which we did). The problem is I wouldn't have these guys back to my house if they paid me for the privilege. A lot of the stuff I mentioned in #6 happened while they were "fixing" something else. The more I had them at the house the more damage they caused. I finally just stopped pointing things out because I was worried what else they might screw up and I was just fed up of dealing with them. The owner did offer to fix some of the things I mentioned above but like I said I was done letting them "fix" things. The project was extremely stressful and drawn out. In hindsight I wish I had fired them after the first crew didn't even attempt to do anything Lead Safe. I didn't because the owner was very responsive to my complaints and I thought things world turn around and be okay. I actually think Daniel (the owner) and his brother are nice guys who genuinely want to do a good job but they just completely failed me again and again on this job. They never managed to get anyone to the jobsite that cared about getting the job done or getting the job done right. Daniel did have a new baby just days after the job began and I can understand how that can be difficult but the truth is that's not my problem. Don't schedule the job if you're not going to be able to manage it. Throughout the job and at the end I let Daniel know how horrendous this experience was and that I was not remotely happy. He wanted to make me happy and tried. He sent cleaners to the house twice free of charge because of my concerns with the lack of Lead Safe prep (dust and paint chips had been blown into my kids playroom). Recently he offered a free gutter cleaning (I declined and happily paid someone $250 to do it) because I am legitimately worried about letting them do anything at my house again. According to Daniel everyone who worked on my house was fired with the exception of his brother. I have no idea if this is true but either way it didn't make me feel any better and it didn't do anything to fix the issues with the job. The only thing that would have made me happy enough to walkaway from this project without feeling totally screwed would have been a sizable discount off the final price. I asked Daniel for 20% off but he would have none of it citing the fact that he already was losing money due the how long the project had dragged on (which was obviously not my fault) and he accused me of trying to take advantage of the situation. I can see where he was coming from but read through the above one more time, it was absolutely ridiculous and I would have felt total justified asking for 50% off. He asked what would have made me happy and that was it, but to be honest that still wouldn't have made me feel better about putting my kids health at risk and the stress of keeping them out of their playroom and the yard until I had cleaned both to feel satisfied that there was no lead dust hanging around (I had them both tested after the project to make sure they were okay, they were within normal levels). In the end he gave me a $700 credit. I included as many pics as I could but had dozens more that I started taking after they painted my roof. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.

    Despite a few impediments by the building inspectors (such as extended foundation inspections, new hard-wired smoke detectors in areas not included in the project, and changes to 10-year old furnaces), Express Remodeling Group was able to deliver the project just in time. Wagner worked well with our architect to completely transform a neglected house into a modern, energy-efficient condominium. During the bidding process, Wagner should've had advertised two things that expedited construction and kept the budget affordable: 1) he has 5-member crew that stays during the entire duration of construction and 2) unlike contractors who end their day at 3pm, his crew works until 5-6pm. Now, we have three generations happily living under the same roof!

    Netto's Painting & Carpentry
    Originally I called Netto to look at the exterior places on my house where the wood had rotted a Netto walked the whole perimeter and thoroughly and patiently explained the cause and repair needed for them. We then discussed replacing the gutters ( had to because previous contractor had installed them with nails and they could not be removed without damaging them) and then the roof ( about 15 years overdue) and while there - added painting the trim a 3rd color. Netto was extremely professional, on time, kept me informed and up to date on any changes, had professional, trustworthy and approachable crew specialized for each job needed. All his estimates were accurate and reasonable, and the time management was right on the nose. Of all the contractors I have dealt with, Netto is by far the best listener. He did not interrupt or impose his ideas, but actual conversed with me about the job. ( Without "man-splaining" !) I look forward to working with him again.
