    Automax Pre-Owned - Framingham
I purchased Volkswagen Passat from this dealer. During the purchase process, I was told that there will be one hard inquiry on my credit, if I apply for a loan. The finance manager Lance made three hard credit inquiries, without my consent, which decreased my credit score. When asked about this from the finance manager Lance, he said that they do at least three hard credit inquiries on every buyer. -Every dealer is supposed to provide a "buyers guide" and warranty information for any used vehicle they sell, per law. I was not given a buyers guide and vehicle manual, despite my requests. -The sales person,Jay Spaddy, promised that he will be emailing the service history of the vehicle. All used vehicles have to be serviced and in safe condition, per law, before the sale. He has not emailed me the service history despite my multiple requests. -The sales person during the sales process implied that the vehicle is almost new and there will be two keys provided. Only one key was provided. -The finance manager asked us to pick up the vehicle on Monday,November 30,2015. When we reached there after an hour of drive along with my family, they turned us back stating that the vehicle was not ready because they did not communicate with each other. They told us that they will deliver the vehicle at 11 am the next day. The vehicle was not delivered until 1:45 pm the next day. Sales person lied stating that the delivery people left at 11:05 am while the delivery person told that he did not even reach the dealership unitl 12 pm and left at 12:30 pm as the salesperson called him back for something. The salesperson Jay Spaddy lied at multiple steps of the process to sell the vehicle. Despite expressing all the above concerns, I was not given an opportunity to even talk to the manager. Nobody apologized for the disservice, unprofessional and dishonest behavior.

    City Side Subaru
This is a very professional outfit. The salesman I spoke with was Flavio and he was extremely polite and professional. He was able to provide me with all the information I needed, but did not pressure me in any way. He also followed up with a phone call later on to answer any lingering questions I might have. In the end, I did not purchase a Subaru, but did have a positive experience with this dealership.

What a great experience! We had to buy a car unexpectedly and decided to trade in our 1994 Volvo for a pre-owned 2007 Volvo XC70. Ted Leotsakos was our salesman and Paul Murphy was the sales manager. They were both incredibly helpful, did not exert any pressure and facilitated the process in such a way as to make it a pleasant experience. We would highly recommend them!

    Toyota of Watertown
Via email, Shanice at Watertown offered me the best deal on a new car from among the rest of the Toyota dealerships. The dealership was far from home but I felt good about Shanice and after having a pleasant experience with another associate when getting an estimate on my trade-in, I decided Id come back the next day to purchase a car with my wife and baby.
Shanice had already left for the day and a friendly salesperson offered to assist.  We told him that Shanice had already worked the numbers and we showed him our written quote.  He then stepped away for a bit and came back with general sales manager Alex Kazan.  We told him what we were looking for but that Shanice had already gone over the numbers with us and were ready tobuy.  He looked over the paperwork we brought with us, turned it over, and thViaen started writing down numbers.  He came up with a number and said This is what you are going to pay for your vehicle.  It was about $2K higher than our quote.
We told him Shanice had already worked the numbers and given us a quote that was much lower than what he was now saying.  He looked over the paperwork again and said that quote was too low and it must include the $750 rebate (even if true, the quoted price + $750 was nowhere near this new number).  Of course the details of the Carwoo quote did not say that the quoted price included the rebate and we pointed that out to him.  He then telephoned Shanice. My wife spoke to Shanice who said that her quote included the rebate.  My wife pointed out that that was not in the email and that if we knew this, we wouldnt have come to this particular dealership because their price was similar to other closer dealerships.
We sat down with Alex again who said he would honor what we were quoted and wrote down the number we were actually quoted + the $750.  My wife noted that our quote was $750 lower.  He responded Youre not going to get the car at that price.
My wife made our case you gave us a quote, you should honor that quote, your number is now just like all the other dealerships and we wouldnt have come this distance if we knew this was the actual number.  He told her to go to another dealership then because we werent getting the car at that price. He then said to my wife, You came in here aggressive.  You were rude to my salespeople.  I dont have to deal with this.  Youre not getting a car from us.  He got up and walked away.  We said, are you actually just getting up and walking away?  He ignored us.   We were stunned.  Nearby customers gave us a look like Hes crazy and mouthed Oh my God.   Neither me nor my wife were rude to anyone.  We got along great with the salesperson who offered to help us out and he looked mortified after his boss left.  He repeatedly apologized profusely.  We asked him, What was that guy talking about?  Were we rude to you in any way?  He gave us a look like what are you talking about and said, No, absolutely not.
Since even the salesperson said we werent rude to him, the only person left would be Shanice and my wife was far from rude to her.  There was a disagreement and my wife was upset but no elevated voices, nothing rude said, no nasty tones, nothing disrespectful.    Alex was clearly just making this up to try to avoid giving us the car at the quoted price and to justify his awful behavior. I have no issues with any of the other Watertown employees, including Shanice who was capable of disagreeing with us while still being respectful.  She acted like a salesperson should during a dispute and made clear that she understood our side.  Alex is another story.
Miscommunication happens during negotiations and this might not have even been Shanices fault but clearly there was a misunderstanding.  The way that Alex handled it was atrocious (considering we were the ones with a written quote he wasnt honoring) and ended with my wife in tears.  There was no Im sorry you were quoted this price but I just really cant sell it to you at that but what can I do to earn your business.  There was no I understand you came a long way to get this done. There was
NOTHING!!  He told us to go away, insulted my wife, lied, then got up and walked away.  We left the dealership and I said Did that actually just happen? No other horrible purchasing experience comes close to this.  And I highly doubt that Alex wouldve spoken to me or any male like the way he spoke to my wife.   So this dealership lost out on an easy sale.  And quite honestly, we wouldve paid the new quoted price that night even though it was $750 higher.
Alex may try to put his own spin on things and I suspect that his subordinates might look out for their own self-interest and back him up.  But my wife, myself, and other customers know what happened and my wife and I will be telling as many people as possible .  And we know that even Alexs own salesperson felt obligated to apologize to us and that says something.   As long as Alex is there, dont buy.  He doesnt deserve it.
Other dealerships may do a bait and switch and give you a phony quote.  But I doubt many engage in the unprofessionalism that we experienced if you call them out on it.

They're very easy going and no sales hassle.  They did the right car for the right price.  Very fair even with the trade-in.  The sales manager, Jerry Yaros, is a good guy;  straightforward and very honest.  They all looked very professional even down to dress wear.

Honda North is the ONLY dealership I'd revisit to buy another car from. It was the first pleasant experience I've ever had buying a car. At no point through the entire process did I experience any of the usual pressure and deceitful practices (add-ons, warranty extensions). Every service diagnosis and repair was done honestly. Get luxury car service without the luxury car price.

We were looking for a pretty specific car. I located the car on the internet and contacted them. I looked at the car on Sunday, started to negotiate on Tuesday, reached agreement on Wednesday, picked up the car the next sunday.

    Bernardi Honda in Natick
I came in for a test drive and was met by an eager, but not pushy sales rep (I think I was one of his first sales). His manner was appropriately friendly. As we drove around Natick and Framingham-first him, then me-he explained how the hybrid worked and answered my questions. I came back later and purchased the car. Auto loan terms matched that of my credit union. Paperwork was done efficiently. I got the car two days later (my choice due to my work schedule). The car was delivered clean, with registration, insurance co notified, and safety inspection all done. I only had to drive it home.

    Herb Chambers Toyota of Boston
I began looking for a car in April. I went around to different dealerships and told each salesperson I would buy a car by Labor Day, but to leave me alone until then. I didn't want their phone calls and things like that. Lori listened to what I wanted. The negations over at Herb were as tough as at any other places, but I got a fair price in the end. Lori took the time to meet with me three or four times before I bought my car. She gave me my space up until I got my car. I really enjoyed dealing with this dealership and I would use them again.

They have a good selection of new and used vehicles. Everybody knows them in Boston, especially if they re looking for Hondas. They have a pretty big organization. It runs smoothly, and they sell a lot of cars. I shopped around and looked on the Internet before going to them. I feel I got a good deal.
