HIghly recommend Reliable Fence. They promptly returned my call asking for an estimate, came out to the house, suggested ways I could save money on the installation. They showed up on time, did excellent work and cleaned up after themselves. Extremely professional. Their estimate was $3K less than a competitor. fence looks absolutely beautiful - very happy.

    Thanks Paul.
Everything went smooth from contacting to having the old fence replaced with the new fence.
The fence is sturdy and beautiful!
I would recommend Sudbury Cedar Fence and my dogs would too :)

I had received two previous quotes from fencing companies before I contacted Sudbury Cedar.   When I first called Sudbury Cedar, the owner himself answered the phone and was very responsive to all my questions.  He then came to my home and was willing to talk about design, including offering suggestions for a custom gate.  The work was performed on time and Paul the owner was on-site both days.  He appeared very knowledgeable about fence installation as well as really cared about the quality of the work being performed.  A crew of 3 men worked efficiently,  while respecting my property and existing plantings.  I was so pleased with the final outcome and HIGHLY recommend them.    Paul the owner is wonderful to work with and his fencing appears to be of a higher quality than the other two companies I contacted.   I really can't say enough good things about Sudbury Cedar Fence.

Prior to any work being started, Dan(owner of Earthworks) asked me to let the neighbors know and to get permission for their vehicles to access their driveway as it butts my land and Sections of my fence had to be removed. The trucks came in after the neighbors left and were gone prior to their return. It was a 3 man crew. All were very professional with me as well as with each other. There was no foul language or loud music. Through the course of their work, I heard Dan thank his men, which was very refreshing.
We went over the invoice and every detail of what was done was discussed. If there was an overage it was noted. (Due to changes or requests which differed from the original and had been authorized by me) Also an underage (?) yes - as his machinery was already on the property, he did not charge for a full day for the added trench work. After filling in the trench he re-seeded.
In the future, I will call them again. If anyone is planning to use their services, plan a season in advance, as they appear to be in much demand.

Provider's contractor  (Devoss construction) took off the first two doors they came to. They were  the wrong doors. This is two apts.that are rentals. If they had called me in advance (per my conversation w/them), this could have been avoided, They could also have followed written directions on the order; very specific. At the end of that day, the job was still short one door. They called me to say they couldn"t gain access to one of the apts. That's the call they should have made before they went to the building. When I arrived they had already taken off the wrong doors, & replaced one of them with the new door. So I got to keep it. They put the 2nd new door where it was supposed to be and reinstalled the existing door where it was.The date of this ridiculousness was early February. I notified Home Depot immediately. They called the contractor but I have no idea what was said. Subsequently, the installer from Devoss called me & asked if I would meet him at the apt. on Sunday March 8th., between 1 & 3pm. I waited until after 4pm and got a voice mail that said he couldn't make it. I called home depot and they said they were very concerned And would get right on it. They said they had the regional manager taking care of it, but never called me back. The next day Devoss called me and made an appt. for Wed. the 11th, between 1 & 3pm. Of course no one showed and no one called. Once more I called home depot with this information. The last I heared was they were checking to see where the door is.

We called in several fence companies to quote the removal of old fencing and replacement. It was a big job, and the topography of our lot was challenging. Not only is it quite hilly, but we also needed it to be "dog tight" - with fencing flush to the ground.   Although Arrow Fencing was not the least expensive, I had the greatest confidence in them after speaking to Jake, the job supervisor. We did negotiate a little on price based on other quotes.
As I said, it was a big job, and they agreed to leave the work site "dog safe" every night when they left.  And they did.  Debris was taken away on a daily basis, and my request to leave some of the cedar for firewood was accommodated. (it was also explained that old cedar does not burn hot - but it's great kindling - all of which is true)
I know any muscle man can dig a fence hole - but truly the fence is a thing of beauty. The three gates had to be custom made on site, and they work perfectly.  One small detail we didn't care for (it was actually a mis-communication between myself and Jake) was IMMEDIATELY corrected. One crazy (and expensive) idea I had Jake talked us out of.
The crew on site where polite and hardworking and the job was started and completed in the timeline I was told to expect. Because our lot actually adjoins five different neighbors (it's long across the back) the transitions where important and they were beautifully done.
They take credit cards, if you want to rack up points - which I appreciated.  Especially since the fence cost more than my first car....!

Exceeded our expectations. From the initial meeting to when the job was complete, it was a pleasure working with this company. Very professional, they answered our questions promptly. The quality of their workmanship, the materials they used and speed in which they performed the work. They coordinated well with the landscaper who was redoing the backyard at the same time.

I can't say enough good things about working with Jason. From start to finish everything was done with excellence. After a walkthrough of our flooded property, he began work about 4 weeks later. He was onsite everyday starting early in the morning. Since this was almost a total rehab of the property, he was our general contractor for these projects and brought in only a trusted plumber, electrician, painters and one co-worker to assist with completing the work. The timeline was approx 4-6 weeks, and he was finished on time. He has amazing attention to detail, and is creative in finding more cost-effective and functional solutions. When he was building the cabinet for above the microhood, Jason noticed that a square edge that was there wouldn't match with the other side of the cabinets, so he built a bit more on, and created useful shelving that then matched the opposite cabinet. When Jason was refinishing the hardwood floors in the living room, it was hot and humid outside and the final finish wasn't coming out right. So he resanded and refinished with an A/C in the window and they came out beautifully. All of the extra work at no additional cost to us....just Jason doing things with excellence. Overall, everything came out beautifully. We continue to get compliments on his work, and people have asked for his contact information for projects on their homes. We look forward to working with Jason again in the near future with refinishing our attic and basement at our primary residence. You will not be disappointed, he was a delight to work with and his work is done with excellence and beauty.

I requested bids from 5 companies to design and install vinyl fencing, including a pergola, in my backyard. Having already researched the various quality of vinyl fencing by visiting home improvement centers, fencing companies, etc., it became clear that there were big differences in the quality and construction of vinyl and I considered this a major investment. I received 3 bids which I considered competitive (one company cancelled its appointment, the other was a no show). Two perfectly reputable fence companies sent me salesmen to discuss the project, Sudbury Fence sent me Paul, who knows more about fences and design than anyone, and who is a complete professional. He helped me enormously make the choice between wood and vinly, gave me the pros and cons of each, discussed design, oversaw and inspected the finished work. Everything was done on time, on budget, and beautifully. Really one of the best contractors I have ever worked with, and I now have a gorgeous fence which has made my backyard a showplace.

Paul Brown came out and gave the estimate, then came back the next week and went over the fine details with us. He returned calls quickly, was punctual, responsive, professional and helpful. His crew of 4 (who were very pleasant and friendly) came a few weeks later and put the fence up in one day. There were a few glitches: gates were originally done without the scallops although that was written on the estimate (they redid them right away when I noticed), and one section of fencing does not come out from the house at a 90 degree angle due to Paul's measuring error. It's been 2 weeks and it's not yet been fixed, but neither have we paid. (This is the reason for my "B" grade on quality.) Otherwise, the fence looks gorgeous and the price was reasonable. (The other quote we got from Walpole Woodworkers was $12,000)!
