    Sovereign Design Associates
Darlan and his team came up with an amazing plan to bring my newly purchased and outdated condo up to a new and modern day look that both my fiance and I wanted. I initially had reservations about using a designer in general because I wasn't sure how everything would look and I wanted my house to be mine after everything was said and done. Darlan was very receptive to my concerns and helped both me and my fiance understand the remodeling process and helped to keep in in control of the process. His suggestions ended up being exactly what I was looking for and then some! He was even able to help me work around the restrictions of my condo association which was amazing! Highly recommended I can't say it enough.

We knew we wanted to enclose our deck to a 4 season room, working with George, he was able to come up with plan that would give us exactly what we wanted and stay within our budget. George was punctual, methodical and explained every detail along the way.  His craftsmanship really shows through on our finish room.  The quality of materials, the quality of his work is second to none.
The result from top to bottom including the inside finished work, is above and beyond our expectations.  We are extremely pleased and highly recommend Mr. Silveira for any project big or small.  His business card says it all:  A proud reputation for superior construction.  Contact:  gorgebrkly@comcast.net 508-922-5110 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting  508-922-5110 FREE  end_of_the_skype_highlighting. Tupper Construction
Rick Tupper gave us a detailed estimate. In addition to an entirely new kitchen, we also needed 2 walls removed and a portion of our wood floor replaced. Rick helped us pick out lights, cabinets and counters. He came daily to check on the crew and returned all our calls promptly. We were impressed by the work, especially the plasterer who redid our ceiling, the cabinet designer and the tile person. Our kitchen was finished in a timely manner and is beautiful. We love it.

    Tupper Construction
Our kitchen was in need of remodeling - from the ceiling to the floor. Rick Tupper gave us an estimate which was reasonable and in line with the others we received but we liked the idea the he is the owner and has been in business for years. He completely remodeled our kitchen - putting in new floors, counters, cabinets, appliances and lighting. He did a great job. We love our new kitchen.

    Barnstable Builders
I first contacted Barnstable Builders on 9/5/10 to request an estimate to have the 4 second story windows replaced with Anderson 400 series windows to match work that had been done on the first floor last fall. Peter Munro, the company owner) contacted me on 9/6/10 to request additional information in regards to the windows, and then came to my home on 9/7/10 to look at the job. He did not measure the windows at that time, instead taking the numbers I had given him from a previous estimate. The following day, I received a quote of $2585.00 to complete the job. At that time he provided a list of references as well as copies of his Construction Supervisor License and his Home Improvement Contractor Registration. After consideration of the three quotes, I contacted Mr. Munro on the 10th of September to inform him that we were choosing to use him. He came to my home with the contract. At that time, there was an additional charge of $50 for him to pull the permit, as well as $150 to stain the window sashes per our request. On the contract, there was a place for me to sign off on the window sizes. Because he had not personally measured the windows when he gave the estimate, I requested that he do so as I did not want to be responsible for another contractors measurements. He measured, and told us that these were not the size indicated on the contract, but instead one size smaller. I reiterated that I wanted them the exact size of the current windows, and the match to what had been done in 2009 on the first floor of my home. He verbalized that they would be the same as what I have now, and changed the size of ? windows from 2446 to 2442. He stated that he would order the windows immediately (a deposit was given of $1685 at contract signing) and the work would be done possibly the last week of September, but more likely the second week in October as he would be away on vacation the first week. I did not hear from him after that, and contacted him on October 11, 2010 to ask where we were at with the windows. He sent an email stating that his father had passed away the previous week and he would be out of town the rest of the week and would contact me over the weekend to set the date. On 10/18/10, he sent an email stating that windows hadn?t come in yet and were due in Thursday and that windows would be installed the following week (His words were ?rest assured your windows will be installed next week.? After several more emails and rescheduled dates, he began work on 11/11/2010. I was told at the time the contract was signed that this was one day to day and a half job. On 11/11, he presented to the house after 10am. I returned from work at 3:30 as he and his assistant were packing up for the night. The windows were in, but not trimmed on the inside or out. I did not initially go upstairs to look as the men were back and forth gathering their belongings. What was evident was the lack of professional clean up. When they left for the evening, the windows/trim/nails/ window boxes scattered my driveway and flower beds. Their personal water bottles littered my lawn. I was very upset when I went to look at the work they had done as the windows that he ordered, the ones that he said would be the right size, were significantly smaller than what was there previously and 2 x 4?s filled the hole in the wall where the longer window was. That evening, I found a string of nails such that goes into a nail gun, lying on my 3 year olds bed, left there by these ?professionals.? In my disappointment, I left a message for Mr. Munro, who in a return message stated that I ?requested smaller windows ? when he came to sign the contract. I knew I had no recourse as I had signed it, figuring this licensed contractor knows best. Additionally on this message, I asked where the permit was as it wasn?t posted at my home and there was no record on the town website. His reply was that he didn?t pull the permit because his license expired and that he would refund the $50. One of the reasons that we hired him is that he was licensed, which to us meant that he was a professional who knew what he was doing. He returned on Friday 11/12 to ?finish? the job but worked only 15 minutes, reporting that our drywall was unusually thick and he needed additional material (he had seen this the day before). He did not make an attempt to complete the outside trim or clean up the mess he and his assistant left, instead leaving it all weekend. He returned Monday and did interior and exterior trim and screwed a piece of drywall and some drywall tape over the areas where the three mis-measured windows were. I again contacted him that evening to request he come and finish the job the following day (Tuesday). He requested the remaining balance of the job be ready for him ($800- $50 less than the original quote due to the lack of a permit. He came and stained the window sashes and called the job complete- no attention to the bare drywall that he had placed. We decided to cut our losses and spackle ourselves, but the poor workmanship has forever affected to look of the wall because of the difference in surfaces. Both rooms now need repainting, but will not fix his damage. Obviously, the contract was breached on at least two accounts. Firstly, the contract reads ?Barnstable Builders is fully licensed and insured in the state of Massachusetts.? His license expired after we signed the contract and before work began- he should have disclosed this openly PRIOR to the start of work and amended the contract accordingly. In addition, the contract reads ?Permit- $50? and he failed to pull this permit prior to the job and failed to notify myself, the homeowner, to allow me to apply for the permit independent of him.

    C & J Hunt Construction Services LLC
Excellent experience from start to finish. Mr. Hunt was very friendly/professional/courteous on all encounters. Completed initial estimate day after we contacted him- he took his time and listened to our requests- honest about project costs and time frame- no pressure from Mr. Hunt to use his services and no attempt to "sell" more projects that what we were ready to do. Contacted him again the following day with our request to proceed with the project- he came by our home again within several days to pull trim to get measurements and provided written estimate of job. At that point, he had hoped to be able to start in 2-3 weeks. Actually started well ahead of schedule- only 5 days after estimate. Deposit for cost of materials was made prior to start of job. Job was finished in 3 days. Very clean, professional work by both Charles and his brother. They cleaned up after themselves daily- never anything left for us to do- they didn't even leave a trace of sawdust on the lawn! Payment of balance on completion of project after assuring that we were happy with their work. I could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely use them again in the future! You will not be disappointed!
