    PLEASE SEE LESSONS LEARNED IN CAPS THROUGHOUT. In fairness, they had just lost an employee and their office was harried, but mine was definitely not a good experience. I paid $375 for the title V inspection. 2 guys came, poked the ground for 5 minutes, didn't find a riser and cap, & left saying they could not do the inspection and would have to excavate the site. LESSON ONE: require them to pull the prior Title V before coming out, which would have given them the depth of the system ahead of time. Capewide would not give me a quote to excavate, only said the excavation equipment cost $170/hr to rent. They then excavated, said the system failed because the distribution box had to be upgraded to a H20, filled in the hole and left. Next Capewide sent me a bill for an additional $2285 for the first excavation (with no breakout) and a quote of an additional $2600 to upgrade the DBox. They refused to credit me for the $375 they charged me for the 10 minutes their first inspectors poked around. LESSON TWO: check the last Title V before you start. If you have a walk-out basement, the system is going to be deep. If the previous owner didn't install risers, you are going to have to excavate. Be sure to only hire a Septic inspection co. that has their own excavation equipment. I said I wanted to check the 6 year old Title V inspection to see why the previous inspector passed it before I paid the additional $2600. This was not a criticism of Capewide rather the 2012 inspector. They were not enthusiastic about my going to the County. LESSON THREE: The town inspector said the requirement to upgrade to an H20 was only for new builds, mine was grandfathered and did not need to be replaced. I had Capewide on the phone to ask them some questions and the town inspector pulled my cell out of my hand saying they wanted to explain to Capewide directly. Capewide told the county inspector they had 'learned something', They next called back and said the sides of the box were collapsed. After I left the County office, the Capewide inspector called me and tore me 'a new one' for putting him in the embarassing position of having to speak to the inspector. I tried to explain that the inspector had grabbed the phone but he wouldn't have it. I decided to get another quote before proceeding, especially since they would not break out the $2600 additional expense and called an excavation co. that did septic inspections (and owned the excavation Equipment). The 2nd company quote me $1650 or 37% less. They did the work. I monitored and photographed it. There was slight degradation in one of the walls of the Dbox but it was not collapsed. If I had gone to them in the first place my cost would have been $3300 vs. $5260 from Capewide. I have kept my recordings of the calls with Capewide. Again, not a good experience.

    The gentleman who turned up was on time and called ahead, which was good. He diagnosed the issue and initially said I ought to replace the furnace for somewhere between $3-6,000. I said that was not an option and he then presented me with a proposal for just over $1700 to clean the system and replace the valve and thermocouple, although he couldn't guarantee that would work.  I declined this option as I have worked in an HVAC business previously and could see that the parts were being massively inflated: the valve was charged at $745, whereas the cost of these items is in the $100-200 range, the thermocouple was $125 but this is a $10-20 item.  Even allowing for labor, these prices are extremely high. 
    So what happened with the repair? I called HomeServe (who in full disclosure I have worked for before and so I am not reviewing in accordance with Angie's List rules) and purchased an instant cover service agreement for $359.  They came out and cleaned/repaired the unit and I now have a service agreement covering other repairs for the remainder of the year.  The technician said that the unit didn't need replacing at all.
    My two complaints with ARS are that they tried to sell me a new unit when I didn't need one and proposed extremely high prices for a repair, four times what I actually paid.

    Michael came in a timely manner and was very professional and personable, but unfortunately a pipe broke after 5 p.m. and could not be replaced til the next morning.s  So no water over night, but he did show up first thing the next morning and replaced the pipe.  But we still had low water pressure.  So the owner Tim came over a few days later and upped the pressure.  It now works very well.  There is still a fluctuation in pressure when someone turns on the water upstairs.  But as Tim said, that is related to the town water supply.  The town will have to come and replace the service.  I was very happy with their service and the result to this point.  Not sure what and excellent price would be.  They charged $120 and hour.  I thought they did a great job.

    Everything went absolutely fantastic, we love them. We are going to have them back here for more work. We are going to redo a bathroom, and they will help us. The cost was very reasonable, it wasn't very expensive. They left the area clean, and the workers were prompt. The work was completed promptly. I can't say a bad thing about them. They were nice and explained everything to us. The price was reasonable. I would do it again in a minute, and it was fantastic. Everybody should use them.

They're prompt in making appointments. If it's an emergency I'm sure that they would come right away. But it's within a week or two if you need something general done. I highly recommend them.

    They did an excellent job and I would not hesitate to recommend them.  They have 16 yrs experience and it shows in their attention to detail and the meticulous work done.  Gary, who comes out to discuss the job, knows his stuff and pointed out details I would not have thought of.  Their pricing was very fair,and saved me from what I would have had to spend for a new kitchen.  They came when they said they would,and the work was done as predicted.
     I had not wanted to replace my kitchen's 25 year old cabinets; they just needed to be refinished as they were showing wear and fading from over the years.  Rob, the carpenter, did a thorough job cleaning before matching stain where needed (did an excellent matching job, especially near the knobs and handles), and then 2 coats of polyurethane.  I had kitchen knobs with a decorative bracket, but wanted new knobs with no bracket. They look great and do not show where the old brackets were.  When they installed the soffit, attention was paid to which way the grain was going, and this made a huge difference in appearance, together with the new crown moulding (compared to the original soffits which had the grain going the wrong way and did not quite match the cabinets).
