    RJL Construction
In all regards Bob was responsive, punctual, professional and excellent to work with. His skills are very good and I can count on him to do the job right. He is also pleasant to work with. He answers my messages and questions quickly, and the subs he brings are very good. I feel his prices are fair (this is not my first job with him) and he stays with a job until it is done even if it means juggling other jobs. I referred him to friends who needed an extensive repair after a fire and they were happy as well.

    DCR Building & Remodeling
Do not use this builder.  He is the most inexperienced, unprofessional and unethical.  I cannot begin to tell you list but he hires, his buddy, who he hired to due out septic was fired by the town 3x for failing to pass the test, but Dave still had him plugging away making a mess of our yard.  He single handedly violated every bluebook code violation that any non-builder like the average home owner would know.  I say single handedly because all of the contractors either walk off the site or never showed up to work for him as he was not paying them.  He was "robbing peter to pay paul".  We could see the job was going down the tubes, and I was so appreciative when a few of the sub-contractors opened up to us and told us they would no longer work for him.  He is not a qualified experienced builder, the AIA recommended him to help him out, we were new to town, and the builder we researched had started on another project.  Little did I know the AIA and the builder's wife were long time friends and he was trying help the guy out.  Dave even used our original builders bid to bid out the job.  He did not pay out sub's (except of the one that were his friends), footings were less then a foot in the ground, we kicked them out, after he shingled the roof (as roofers didn't show up, real story was because he never paid them deposit) rain entered into the living room and guest bedroom.  We had the put a big blue home depot tarp over our new roof, it looked like a disaster site in a million dollar neighborhood.  We spent a good 15 months reconstructing what we knew was not up to code, and many years late would still find things wrong.  For example, the guest bedroom and a sagging celling, could figure out way, there is a flat roof above it, we open up the ceiling and a the support beams were hung incorrectly.  The kitchen celling finally had to be opened up to actually put a support beam in. He poured our foundation in below freezing temperatures, which led to a major crack, which he then tried to cover up.   He consistently lied to us the homeowners and his own sub-contractors.  Please, if you feel need to use this person who calls himself a builder, first I advise you take a hot iron, and hit yourself in the face with it.   I would use him to build me a free bird house.  Feel Free to call me 617-794-4392

    All American Plumbing & Drains
All American Plumbing is FANTASTIC!!!  They are kind and courteous and spend the time to thoroughly evaluate the situation and make recommendations.  They are very flexible in scheduling (they came next day!!!) and return calls immediately.  They are very reasonably priced and are exceptionally knowledgeable.  I have already had them return to repair a potentially extremely costly repair preventatively saving me a great deal of money and headache!!! I would (and have) recommend them to everyone!

    MILNE PLUMBING & HEATING
We?ve used Milne for a few emergency situations and to replace a toilet and vanity in a half bath.  I really enjoy working with them.
Last fall I found a leak at our sewer line.  I called Milne at 9am and explained what was happening.  Scott was at our house within a half hour.  He got on his phone and called two additional contractors (Dash Drains - clean pipe out & Jeffery's Creek - excavation work.  Both were excellent as well).  Everything was fix, cleaned and running again within 6 hours.
All of our experiences with Milne have been on time, reasonably priced with top-quality results!  They are friendly (especially with the kids), professional and knowledgeable.
    I highly recommend them.

Great. I was very nervous I would need a new boiler but Nick was able to replace just one part.  He had the boiler re-lit and running with in a half hour.  This was especially important as this happened during one of the cold spells this winter.

    CLEAR WATER INDUSTRIES
We live on a long driveway shared by four houses.  Our individual sewer pipes converge together and ultimately connect to town sewer.  The driveway is long enough to warrant four manholes.  We smelled a strong odor of sewage and noticed fluid bubbling around one of the manhole covers.  Clear Water/DF Clark was highly recommended to me by a friend who is a civil engineer specializing in wastewater treatment.  They responded within a few hours to take care of the problem.  The workers showed my husband the problem in the manhole and explained what had happened (in language he could understand).  Following this, Clear Water and my  civil engineer friend consulted with each other and recommended that we have a diagnostic procedure where they snake a camera through the entire line (s) to be sure there were no other problems in the system.
From the receptionist who answered the phone to the men who performed the work as well as the president (David Clark), we found the company to be efficient, courteous, sympathetic, professional and very responsive.  Upon my request, the president of the company wrote up a page long detailed description of the work done and the findings.  Since we all split the cost, I wanted my neighbors to get the information accurately.  I really appreciated the extra effort it took to write this up for us.
We were charged exactly what was quoted.
I'm not entirely clear about what differentiates Clear Water Industries from DF Clark - they appear to be divisions of the same company.
I would use this company again and recommend them in a heartbeat.

    Berry Mechanical Services, Inc.
Jamie came to the house and did a thorough assessment of the house and current system, then came back with a quote to update the heating/ac system from a single-zone to multi-zone. I had several delays and lots of questions but he was great with getting back to me promptly and checking in when we were still in the planning stage.
It seemed like it would be a huge undertaking to finish the job in 3 days, but when the day came, it was all hands on deck. The crew was very courteous and professional and they indeed got the job done in the time they said. The crew leader, Chris,  did a great job of keeping me posted about the status of the job as they went. So far, the system is terrific - my house is very toasty! Oh and did I mention that their price was half the amount of the other quote I got.
We did have a little confusion about one add-on, but as soon as I brought it up, Jamie looked into it, called me immediately, and we were able to get everything resolved quickly.
I had chosen to call them due to their great reviews here on the list, and I'm happy to add another one to the pile - they did a fantastic job!

    ASAP Drains
tOur 1910 period house basement main that leads to the city system had backed up and would overflow through the washing machine drain pipe which would lead to minor basement flooding when using the washing machine, shower/tub, etc. I rented a electric snake machine at Home Depot and worked on it from the basement drain for 2 hrs with no luck. ASAP came highly recommended by a reputable builder in the area as they specialize in clearing pipes (not like a lot of companies where it's another service they provide, but aren't experts in). ASAP had someone out in about an hour's time. Kevin was able to analyze the problem, troubleshoot at first within the house and then determined it was an older drain trap on the main which is a common problem on older homes like this. The main was outside under the porch and he was able to open it, access it and took about an hour of skilled snake working to clear out what was likely 20+ years of tree roots and assorted non-biodegradable waste in the main. He was finally able to clear it and we were able to run all the water simultaneously in the house with no problem. Kevin was an outstanding and knowledgeable representative for ASAP and we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. He was also nice enough to offer advice about future potential issues and things to look for. All in all, a 100% satisfied customer!

    Croy Plumbing And Heating
We are new homeowners with some plumbing clean up work we needed done. We contacted Chris and another highly rated plumber. Chris responded faster, and came by sooner to view the work prior to providing an estimate. Chris took the time to make the visit informative for me.
In addition, his estimate was slightly more favorable. During the estimation process, Chris was also very responsive and detail-oriented.
After agreement was reached, he came in a few days later to perform the work efficiently and smoothly, including getting the required permit from our town.
I would contract with Chris again in the future.

    ASAP Drains Winthrop
My sink clogged on Monday morning and I couldn't clear it will drain cleaners or plunging.  My neighbor recommended I call ASAP Drains so I called around noon.  They told me to expect someone between 1-2 and he arrived a few minutes before 1:00 and was done by 1:45.  He cleaned everything up.  The service cost $130.
