Fence Company reviews in Malden

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Great! We had concerns about the grading in our yard and our dog being able to get out from under parts of the fence. Tom and Ralph made sure all areas were finished in a way that looked good and safe for our dog. We are very happy with the quality of the product. Couldn’t be happier.

  • It went well and very similar to the other good reviews posted here. I wanted the fence professionally painted by its installer and that's what I got (the other ~5 contractors I contacted did not offer painting of their fences and a couple even scorned the idea). Cole McDonough handled the sales/planning thoroughly. He had no problem answering all my questions and I didn't have to repeat everything we agreed on to the guys who did the install. The several small teams that did the work all showed up when promised in trucks labelled W J McDonough Fence (no mystery subs / unlabeled vehicles). The fence is hard up against the property line and has several custom jogs, a couple hops over an old tree trunk and some roots and short run over some blacktop -- all handled with ease. The work took two weeks end to end, mostly due to weather delays and paint drying. McDonough Fence didn't walk on water -- they cut one post too short after installing it -- but they recovered just fine on that one mistake (reinstalled another post). My life would go a lot smoother if I could count on all the contractors who work on my house to conduct their business like McDonough Fence.

  • Were not only on-time, but early. Efficient. reasonable, if not slightly lower quote than 3 other competitors. Would definitely hire again. It did a bit to get an install date scheduled (about 5 weeks after payment) but we knew they were booking out that far when we received the initial estimate.

  • Geo Brothers just did a fantastic job on our new fence. Robert is very responsive and attentive to his clients' needs and desires. Their price is fair too. His crew did a great job on installation, and we love our new fence. Highly recommend them.

  • My fence is perhaps 15-20 years old. For many years untrimmed trees and bushes rested on the fence in several places. That caused rot at the top of some fence panels (the cap piece and two boards that hold in the lattice topper). I want to get at least a few more years' use from the fence. Mike was constructive and flexible from start to finish in assessing the situation, deciding on the fix, pricing the job, etc. He works carefully. When he was done there was no contractor-caused damage for me to repair.

  • Toshio was fantastic -- he came and looked at the job and gave a very accurate quote. His quality of work is superb and he cleaned up the worksite completely. He was punctual, professional and very pleasant. The fence looks great -- you wouldn't know that it had been repaired as the design Toshio came up with to fix the fence blends in perfectly. We are so happy with the work that he did and would highly recommend him to anyone needing these types of services.

  • I am very happy with my new fence.  Rob was on time and provided a detailed estimate.  His crew came out and did the entire back yard in 2 days.  They removed all of the debris and cleaned up the job site perfectly.  They even repaired one gate and replaced another one for me.  I would use Rob and his company again no doubt.  Estimate was very competitive.

  • I am helping coordinate a fence project for my child's school.  I called and talked to Steve.  I asked if they would set the fence posts only so the parents would do the lower skilled work and save costs.  They declined to do that since they are very busy.  However, Steve took the time to give me great advice about how to tackle the project on a DIY basis.
  • On 05/18/13 at 1;28 am a young man drove a car across the front of my lawn, bending down five metal fence posts and dragging the attached chain link fence and gate across teh front of my yard and tino the street in front of my neighbor's house.
On 06/25/13 a representative from Cleveland Fence inspected the damage and gave me a quote for the above amount, which was $400 higher than the insurance company estimate, but I was adding an extra fence post and an extra foot of chain link over what had been there previously, so the price sounded OK at the time.
Because of the limitations of my schedule, and because they were backed up due to the very rainy weather we had been having, they scheduled to set the fence posts on 08/08/13 and dress them (attach the chain link and gate) on 08/09/13.
They canceled because they were backed up on a previous job, and rescheduled to 08/13/13 and 08/15/13.
They cancleld again, and rescheduled to 08/22/13 and 08/27/13 (to fit around my schedule). They set the posts on 08/22/13 but later in the day, I noticed that many of the fence post holes did not have cement to the top of the holes, but only a very little cement in the bottom of the holes. I called them. I received a call on 08/26/13 that they had finished the cement in the holes, but they had to cancel the dressing of the poles on 08/27/13 and reschedule that to 08/29/13 because they didn't have the chain link in stock. (Really? You've known for two months that you needed chain link for this job.)
On 08/29/13 they theoretically finished the job, but later in the day I noticed that they had not put the caps on the gate posts. I called them and they put the caps on later that day. The following week I paid them the balance i owed them.
Several months later I noticed that the four fence posts across the front of my yard are not evenly spaced as they were before the damage. But I''m done with them. I'll live with my uneven fence posts rather than deal with them again.
  • Of all the companies that we got estimates from they were the only one to show an interest and the ability to do the total job.  We have a rocky section that the fence needed to go over and the man (Ken) from Reliable was actually enthusiastic and wanted to take on the challenge.  He was the reason we choose this company above the others.  They did the job during the heat wave in July and finished on schedule in spite of the weather.
