    Maguire Masonry
I contracted with Maguire Masonry to repair our foundation as above. Peter is a personable guy and what stands out is his desire to do the best job for you. Some areas needed extra work & rebuilding which only became obvious upon excavation. Peter made adjustments to the plans to remedy these issues (at no extra expense to me) His worker Daniel is skilled at what he does which adds to the finished appearance of the job. Peter kept me informed on the project via phone pictures as they went along. This attention to detail & pride in the work is admirable. I appreciate that he accommodated my wishes with some added final touches which really made me happy.

    Real Dry Waterproofing - Scituate
It has not been really good. The came for the original request which was a water leak in the basement. I called them, the guy Kurt came and did the evaluations. The first time was great. We agreed on the price. After that, he sent someone out to do that. But during the time, we had some conversations. During our communications, I switched but they did not commit to do that. After the job, there was something flaw, I would say. It took almost a month for him to come and fix that. During that time, I am communicating with him to ask him to come back and redo service because it was not something that I agreed on at the beginning at the time I signed the contract with him. Right now, we were still discussing what time he could come. Also he adjust the price twice. It was such a bummer. The price was not bad but the thing is that they keep changing the price. Right now I can not reach him by phone. Everytime I go through, it goes to message. So I can only use email to communicate with him. He is not really responsive so maybe one or two days, we would respond to me. He keeps saying, I am really busy. I understand that. That may be the reason that he keep adjusting the price. I sent an email saying, could you just give me any reason why you adjust this price. Aso I ask if he can commit. He told me after one to two weeks that he will come do the job but he has said that twice, at least three times. I just really want him to commit to do the job. If he can not give me a reasonable reason why to adjust the price. I would rehire them because they did the job for me the first time. Even though it was not really good. To be honest, the first time when they came, they were really on time. But after that they only came once. I just want them to finish the job that we agreed on. Now I am still on hold for the second service that we have been talking about.

After many phone calls (one to the owner), emails and, actually talking to another manager I still cannot get their attention. They have forced me to find another support vendor. Imagine if it was an emergency. Really unprofessional behavior.

    Rescon Basement Solutions
We hired Rescon with the hopes of having a smooth construction project to finish our basement to make another bathroom and an office. After discussing our basement finishing project with several contractors we were most impressed with Rescon and hired them. The first part of our project was to waterproof the basement with a French drain system. This part went off without a hitch see our other review true A+ service. We therefore expected the finishing of the basement to go off with the same level of service. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. First off, our project was started an entire month later than it should have been due to Rescon not submitting the permit application in a timely fashion. Since the basement finishing work did get started at the very end of September we have been met with many delays and problems. One example is that they thought a slab in our basement we needed to remove was asbestos and we were held up on work for two weeks for the asbestos removal, but when they came to remove it they said it wasnt asbestos. Rescon fired the person who made this mistake, but it is still their responsibility that this delay happened at all. There have many days where they keep telling us they are coming to work, but they never show up. There is also no completion date on our project. We were told at the initiation of the project that this was difficult to say due to inspection delays, but we have asked for this repeatedly since the inspections have finished and still dont have a completion date. The quality of the work getting done is A+ and the people who come to our house to work our great. The problems are all on the managements side and we are very frustrated with the delays and overall pace of the project. The foreman of the project rarely showed up and the electrician even arrived having no idea there was a bathroom in the plan! Fortunately, my husband is working from home (hence the need for a basement office) and was able to print out the information needed. My husband has been doing a LOT of the foremans job throughout this project. Since the initial posting of our negative review work has really picked up on our house, but it shouldnt have required this to have them do the job we hired them to do. We have no doubt that when our basement is done we will be happy with the final product, but it has been a stressful time for us that was not expected given the care we took to hire a company that was supposed to be better at project management and was totally unexpected after how well our basement waterproofing went. If anyone hires Rescon we would strongly suggest not signing a contract without a completion date on the project. We want to reiterate that the quality of the work is fantastic, it is the communication, management, and project delays that we find unacceptable. Please note were open to changing the grade, if they can complete service before Christmas (which did not happen) and plan to write an even more detailed review upon completion of the project.

    PIC Home Pros
I am very satiefied witht he work that was done by PIC Home Pros, and with the men who did the work. they kept me informed every step of the way, and treated me and my house with respect. (With one small exception: one of them emptied a bucket of dirty water into one of my flower beds.)
When I was negotiating with PIC Home Pros about doing the job, they obtained financing for me. They didn't discuss the finance charge, and, shame on me, I didn't ask. The company emailed a contract to me in an attachment I wasn't able to open. Before I got to asking them for a paper copy, I decided to put off the work to see if my incurance company would cover at least part of the cost. They didn't.
When the job was done and I was authorizing financing, I discovered that the finance charge I unknowingly agreed to is 13%. That's much higher than I'm happy with.
Would I have agreed to that finance charge if I had known it? I don't know. But, at least, I would have tried to negotiate it down a bit. Would I have succeeded? Who knows? Whould I have been able to get a better deal elsewhere? again, who knows. But I would have liked to have had the chance to try.

    1-800-BUSYDOG

It went well. They gave me some valuable information about my foundation and basement. The only thing that I didn't really care for was that they tried selling me a very expensive dehumidifier. They later continued calling me and attempting to come out to assess my basement as if they had never been out in the first place. I'm sure that they are a good company; it just turns me off when a person or company is too pushy and this is how I felt with them.

    Drycrete Waterproofing
Mike arrived to check the basement.  He was prompt, courteous, and made constructive suggestions.  I was impressed by his professionalism.  While other vendors wanted to install a dehumidifier before even looking at the basement, Mike suggested that that wouldn't be needed, and the issue could be addressed through masonry work.

    Drycrete Waterproofing
Originally Drycrete estimated it would take 5 days to complete, it actually only 3. The job was extremely loud and messy, but the crew was very conscientious, notified me about every change in the plan, and cleaned up after themselves (they even picked the extra gravel out of my lawn!). It's rained about 1.5 inches over the past two days, and the basement is dry. Seemed a bit pricey at the time, but I'm currently not downstairs trying to pump water out of my basement...so it was worth it.
