Mike took care of the work in 2 full days and promptly arrived at 8am to begin. He was eager to do the work and most importantly, to do it right. He was especially meticulous when he removed the existing marble threshold and used a small grinder and mortar to create a smooth waterproof surface before he installed the new marble threshold. The result was that it looks great and is perfectly pitched which made my wife and I very happy. The painting he did in the large room downstairs looks great, now like a livable space. My wife and I had peeled wall paper and the surface was plaster. We had done a lot of joint compounding to smooth the wall and Mike sanded as the first phase. We were very appreciative of the work done and it helped us keep our renovation projects moving (we moved in 6 months ago).

Rick and the people on his team are an absolute pleasure to work with. They communicate very clearly in advance, give good advice/guidance, take pride in their work and are incredibly punctual. You really cannot ask for more.

Beautiful. Scheduling was easy. Humberto is very accommodating. The prep work was perfect, therefore the final product was gorgeous. I find Humberto and his team to be polite, respectful and honest. The house was kept clean and protected. They arrived on time and did exactly what they said they would do. I hired them a couple years ago and they are still the same - TERRIFIC!

Excellent - fantastic job; extremely pleased with the result. Richard Orcutt delivered on all his promises for a professional, timely job at a reasonable price. I will hire him again for our next project. I highly recommend him and his team - professional, courteous, punctual, and tidy. Can't say enough good things about them.

I have been in construction for over 20 years and I have seen some good people, and some people that don't care about the quality of there work nor there pride. The person I originally hired for the job canceled the day before he was suppose to come to do the job. So I went online and searched for someone to plaster my entire basement, 75 sheets of drywall in total. I called Jim on a Monday and left a message on his machine and his wife called me back several hours later. She told me that she would have Jim call me back later. Jim called me later that night and asked to come look at the scope of the work. He did come to see the job and said he would return on Wednesday. I had all of the stock on site for him, all the seems were already taped, all the corner bead was already installed and the entire basement floor was already covered with tar paper so the mess would be a easy clean up. Jim and five of his guys came Wednesday morning at 7:30 am to do the job which seemed great. Unfortunately, I was at work while they were doing the job. I came home around 2:30 that afternoon to see Jim, his son Frank, and a few other men that were in there late seventies. They had completed the job and everything seemed ok, until I started taking a closer look at all there plaster work. All of the walls and ceilings where supposed to be absolutely a smooth finish, but after a few days of the plaster drying, I noticed cracks everywhere and the walls where so bumpy and ruff that there was no way I could paint them. Then I also noticed that one of my closets wasn't even a smooth finish, they made the entire closet with a swirl finish.  They left all the trash behind from doing the job, which I had to clean up and dispose of ten large bags of trash. I called Jim Augusta and asked him to come take a look at the job. I had to take a day off from work to meet him at my house, and when him and one of his workers showed up dressed in nice clean clothes, I could tell that they had no intentions on fixing this mess. They sanded one wall for five minutes and told me not to worry about the cracks. I called Jim a few days later to talk to him about the walls and the ceilings were not paintable in this condition, and his reply to me was, is what do you want me to do? I had five guys there and sometimes this happens, his wife was in the background screaming and Jim told me his wife was very sick and don't bother him no more, then he hung up the phone on me. I ended up renting a Porter cable power sander which hooks up to a vacuum cleaner to keep the dust down from Home Depot for several days. I also had to purchase many sponge sanding blocks, sanding screens and sand paper. I spent three full weekends in my basement, sanding, skim coating bumpy spots, fixing cracks and just awful work. You should never have to sand plaster, and definetlly skim coat it after being completed. Do yourself a favor. Don't ever hire JIM AUGUSTA PLASTERING! They are located at 4 Michael Dr, Danvers Ma. 01923 There phone number is (978) 777-6611

Tom and his crew were great! Our basement had got some water in the past which has been addressed. It left the drywall moldy in an already old basement. Tom came in, evaluated what needed to be done and put it into an easy to follow, itemized quote. They tore down all the walls and treated the mold. They then re-framed the walls, installed a mold resistant drywall and baseboard, installed ceramic tile, installed new hopper windows, ran new electric wiring and painted all walls, ceiling and stairwell. It looks like a brand new room now and we couldn't be happier with the result. We were also very pleased with how professional and respectful they all were. They were polite, easy to work with and did not leave behind any mess. We have other projects we'd like to do around the house eventually and we will definitely be calling Tom again. I highly recommend TKG!

I had some rotten woods in my garage and attic caused by snow storm last year, and some painting jobs. I had many estimates from others professionals in carpentry but none of the prices suited me better than A Plus Carpentry & Painting Services. When I first contacted Isaias he answered me right away given me date and time he could come to check the job. He emailed me on same day with the estimate, which I agreed on. It took him and his helper 5 days to complete the job. I could not be any happier with his work. Really glad I found A Plus Carpentry & Painting Services to work and help me keep my house beautiful! I extremely recommend them. Very professional and timely.

Amazingly. We get so many compliments on the paint in our house and the way the colors all go together. Tracy has not only an eye for style, but an ear for the consumer and a big heart to go along with it. The total package, easy to work with, a lot of fun, too. I'd only use her for my painting needs from now on. I've recommended her to a number of friends.

I had Gaby come out to take a look at a small, unused area we had near our back entrance. I wanted to have a place to store
hats, mittens, dog leash, etc that was neat and simple to use. We also wanted to have a place to sit and put on winter clothes before going outdoors.  Gaby suggested a combination cabinet/bench with top storage and bottom drawers and a padded seating area with bead board backing. Instead of building the unit on site, he took lots of measurements then built the entire cabinet at his shop allowing it to be professionally finished using catalyzed lacquer to match our trim work in the house.  Since we were in the process of remodeling the house, he suggested we add a toe kick heater to the area below the bench to help warm a cold hallway on the North side and give off radiant heat to the seating area.  It took a few weeks to design, build and finish the cabinet but this is normal and what we expected. The bench was made using furniture grade materials (not particle board). The doors were raised panels made from hard maple. The drawer slides were high quality ball bearing slides that are completely silent. The cabinet itself is made from
3/4" furniture grade plywood and the entire face frame is made from furniture grade hard maple finished with catalyzed lacquer that matches our Ben Moore paint..  Once the unit was built, Gaby made arraignments to install the cabinet on a Thursday morning at 10:00 am and showed up on time with everything needed to install and finish the job in one visit.  I planned to take the entire day
off to help out if needed but it only took him about 90 minutes to install, trim and finish the job.  The unit looked perfect and we have been using it since 2009 with no problems at all. It looks brand new because of the durable finish that was applied at his shop.

    Impressive workmanship and meticulous attention
to detail are why I keep using Gaby for jobs like this. I met Gaby in 2001 in Wellesley and over the last 15 years, I have had 2 complete kitchens installed by him along with several smaller storage and finish carpentry projects.  With Gaby, he does all the measuring, design, fabrication and installation for his jobs so I know I'll always get the most excellent product possible without having to worry about a "no show contractor"  or poor quality work. He stays in the loop with me on progress and has always delivered an excellent product on time.

I think the real value in using Gaby's services is that his overall knowledge and experience shows through his finished product.
He's straight forward to deal with and is a "no pressure" easy going guy.  I have seen many of the custom kitchens he has designed and built in Wellesley and Weston over the last 10 years and they are just fantastic. If you are looking for old school attention
to detail and prompt, reliable service then I would highly recommend using Gaby for your next project.
