Cabinet Making reviews in Lynnfield

Dave was very helpful in showing me different quality of cabinets and selecting ones that I loved and could afford. The Cambria quartz counter is perfect. It was a huge, long over due transformation and I couldn't be happier with the result.

I had Gaby come out to take a look at a small, unused area we had near our back entrance. I wanted to have a place to store
hats, mittens, dog leash, etc that was neat and simple to use. We also wanted to have a place to sit and put on winter clothes before going outdoors.  Gaby suggested a combination cabinet/bench with top storage and bottom drawers and a padded seating area with bead board backing. Instead of building the unit on site, he took lots of measurements then built the entire cabinet at his shop allowing it to be professionally finished using catalyzed lacquer to match our trim work in the house.  Since we were in the process of remodeling the house, he suggested we add a toe kick heater to the area below the bench to help warm a cold hallway on the North side and give off radiant heat to the seating area.  It took a few weeks to design, build and finish the cabinet but this is normal and what we expected. The bench was made using furniture grade materials (not particle board). The doors were raised panels made from hard maple. The drawer slides were high quality ball bearing slides that are completely silent. The cabinet itself is made from
3/4" furniture grade plywood and the entire face frame is made from furniture grade hard maple finished with catalyzed lacquer that matches our Ben Moore paint..  Once the unit was built, Gaby made arraignments to install the cabinet on a Thursday morning at 10:00 am and showed up on time with everything needed to install and finish the job in one visit.  I planned to take the entire day
off to help out if needed but it only took him about 90 minutes to install, trim and finish the job.  The unit looked perfect and we have been using it since 2009 with no problems at all. It looks brand new because of the durable finish that was applied at his shop.

    Impressive workmanship and meticulous attention
to detail are why I keep using Gaby for jobs like this. I met Gaby in 2001 in Wellesley and over the last 15 years, I have had 2 complete kitchens installed by him along with several smaller storage and finish carpentry projects.  With Gaby, he does all the measuring, design, fabrication and installation for his jobs so I know I'll always get the most excellent product possible without having to worry about a "no show contractor"  or poor quality work. He stays in the loop with me on progress and has always delivered an excellent product on time.

I think the real value in using Gaby's services is that his overall knowledge and experience shows through his finished product.
He's straight forward to deal with and is a "no pressure" easy going guy.  I have seen many of the custom kitchens he has designed and built in Wellesley and Weston over the last 10 years and they are just fantastic. If you are looking for old school attention
to detail and prompt, reliable service then I would highly recommend using Gaby for your next project.

It was a pleasure to work with Carl from McCormick Kitchens.  He spent a lot of time with us creating the perfect design plan.  He helped us choose cabinets and gave us excellent recommendations for tile, appliances, etc.  Carl was always quick to return calls and texts and always pleasant to work with.  His contractors were knowledgeable and friendly and well as reliable. The kitchen was completed in the expected time frame and it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to.  There is not a single thing that I wish were different. We spoke to a couple of other contractors who gave us a design and weren't willing to make any changes, and tried to talk me out of things that I knew I wanted.  It was clear that Carl wanted us to have the kitchen that we dreamed of, and I couldn't be any happier with the final project.

John does fine work at a fair price however his follow up is complete crap. He convinced me not to get an island, telling me "if you want it after I'm done, I'll build it for you for $600 or $700".  Well we want it and he is no where to be found. he doesn't answer calls or texts and it's pretty obvious why, he wants higher margin business. He also gave us one less glide out shelves than what was written in the contract, of course it turns out we could use it.

Mark and Bill from Northern Floors have helped us with a number of home improvement projects and we couldn?t be happier with their
work.  They crafted for us a custom built-in entertainment center and hearth completing our family room, updated our entryway floor with beautiful slate and transformed two aging front door posts with durable pillars that better suit our traditional colonial style
home.   They pay great attention to detail and demonstrate true craftsmanship in everything that they do.   They are meticulous, ensuring even areas under construction are clean before they head home.  They go the extra mile, and serve as true consultants, committed to ensure your home improvement goals are achieved.  And above all they are trustworthy.   We trust Mark and Bill in our home when we are not there and never think twice.

My wife and I began our Kitchen remodelproject in January of 2012. After looking at the big box stores and discounted Kitchen Centers who advertise, we found ourselves at HALCO in Malden. We had friends that used HALCO years before and had and excellent experience, so we wanted to get a base line before meeting with them.
My first meeting with Tim, was casual and lasted about 30 minutes. We was able to gage the Quality of cabinets we were looking for with the right amenities for our targeted budget.
At our next meeting, my wife and I were together and we decided on a traditional, Shaker solid Cherry cabinet. My wife was focused on a clean line, with a traditional look. Tim, also spoke to us about the manufacturer and how the cabinets were going to be built and what we could expect for a time line.
What we found was that the Cabinets is the first step in the kitchen remodelproject. Next we needed to find appliances and a builder. Tim gave us an option of a full service Kitchen Remodel, where he would act as the GC and all of the needed contractors would flow through HALCO.
This was an option for us, until we met with the person who ultimately built our Kitchen. We still kept all of the Cabinets and hardware with Tim and HALCO.
Tim then came to our house to take measurements and discuss options. For us it was about maximizing space and reconfiguing our Kitchen, into a more open concept of combination, Kitchen & Dining Room.
I was surprisedhow much communication we had with Tim, from schematics, trim, under-counter lighting, crown molding and the new configuration we chose. By mid March, we had executed a contract with Tim to time the Cabinets with our install date and arrival of appliances. Tim and HALCO were with us each step of the way. The HALCO design was exactly what we got. Tim had samples sent to us from the manufacture so we could visualize the final product. The sample door spent countless trips with me and was a guide with the granite, appliances, lighting and floors.
The true mark of our experience with Tim and HALCO, was afterdelivery, during install whena side of the island came in the wrong configuration from the Manufacturer. In the big picture, this was no big deal...but at the time...Tim had to work hard not to push out the project. He did an excellent job of keeping my GC informed and ordering more material when asked. Tim personally was on site to inspect and insure the final product meet with our approval.
He came back and made some adjustments to the railings, added guide wire for the doors and adjusted the soft close cabinets . All in all, our experience with HALCO and Tim Procopio was excellent. Not only did they provide an excellent quality product, but did so at a price point that was fair and reasonable. Tim has a wonderful low key approach and you will find him an excellent resource.
The key for us, was shopping him after we had an idea of what we wanted and new what our budget was. Although we only used HALCO for the purchase of the cabinets, I was impressed with his staff and other designers. Everyone that has walked into our kitchen can not believe the transformation. Yes... When you GC tells you to plan on 2 months with out a kitchen....Listen! We wish Tim and the team at HALCO the very best....Bottom line is Cabinets and Appliances make the Kitchen...Push your budget and get what you truly want and you will be looking at them for a long time.

I first worked with Crompton Construction to have new vinyl siding installed, install two new exterior doors, and to have a window moved to another location for a future expansion project.  The jobs were completed without issue and I was very impressed with there attention to detail.  I then asked Randy to take a look at my basement from a previous contractor that walked off the job and neglected to complete.  Randy noticed several code violations and recommended that we start from scratch since there could be other hidden issues.  After the demolition was completed, we saw several structural and electrical issues that were not completed to code.  Crompton Construction was then contracted to refinish the basement and add a full bathroom.  The end result was amazing and my wife and I were extremely happy with the work.  And througout the process, Randy always communicated with me on the overall progress of the project.

We recently had Crompton Construction install trim work throughout our house (crown and baseboard moulding, custom fluted pilasters for the front entry door, and chair rail) and build us some custom cabinetry in our spare room.  Jeff is a master at wood working, and the custom cabinetry he created for us is simply stunning.  All work that was completed by Crompton Construction was done to code with all necessary permits.

Randy and Jeff Crompton are true professionals.  They take great pride in their work and their craftsmanship is outstanding.

I called Megan during the summer and I remember she came by the next day or soon thereafter.  I had an existing kitchen island if you could call it that.  It was more a plywood box with a broken drawer and an the old Jennair cooktop to which you had to put ball jars underneath to grab the grease.  Megan was kind and professional as she looked at this island.  I knew right away she understood what I needed, obviously a new island but she got the whole picture.  I had been burnt before but I knew in my gut this would not happen and I was right.

The plans were made up and tweaked here and there a few times.  The cabinets were ordered, I picked out the granite and Megan even suggested a stove which is beautiful.  You could think to yourself that anything would look better than what we had but that is not the case because the island looks fantastic and I am so utterly happy.  Their contractor Gilson came out to intsall the cabinets on the floor before the granite and stove. I had a few other contractors in and out doing other things and they all commented on what a professional job he and his co-worker did installing the cabinets.   Soon the granite arrived and it all came together.  The island is perfect! During the process I had a problem with the surrounding floor to which Megan was more than happy to help with suggestions and even sent Gilson their contractor out one evening.
Most importantly, there was a little glitch during the installation of the granite.  BUT, this was taken care of immediately which is important for consumers to know because things do not always go perfectly and follow up is really, really key.  Megan followed up immediately and it was resolved.

If you are reading this then you probably are fed up with fly by night operations that are not entirely honest.  Fear no more.  The truth is had I known it would have gone so well I would have doubled up my budget to 20K and done a few other things, but hind sight is 20/20. I now know what company to use and one can let their guard down, relax and enjoy the process since it was seamless and worked out so well.
