    GreenChoice Insulation LLC
Work was done on time and neat. Showed up on time and was very professional and did a really good job. Spray foam insulation is absolutely worth it, costs a little more up front but it will keep our place warm. Would hire again in the future.

    Mack's Painting & Carpentry
Mack's Painting and Carpentry is the definition of professionalism and quality. We had a detached garage that was over 50 years old with rotted out supports and no poured foundation. Before Mack's team began working on it we thought for sure we were looking at a lost cause. The garage leaned so significantly to the back and right that we figured it would collapse with another rough winter. Mack's team was able to straighten the garage to an almost perfect square, pour a foundation on the right side, build up supports, replace rotted wood, insulate, side, replace two windows, redo the roof, and install a brand new garage door all within the contracted rate. We were so impressed! Not only is the quality of their work top notch but Mack's team was always there when they said they would be, explained the work they were doing, and maintained a level of professionalism not easily found in the business. We will definitely be using Mack's Painting and Carpentry for any future projects we have!

    Next Step Living
The major problem I have with NextStepLiving is they subcontract much of their work and they don't even bother to talk to the subcontractor and confirm the dates they give you as the customer.  If they do the work themselves, then they show up on time and get the job done.  But, for me, they subcontracted - and when things went wrong, they weren't even willing to help resolve the issues, simply saying "it's the subcontractor - talk to him" - but I didn't even have a number or name - the only name and number I had was NextStepLiviing.
They "arranged" for a Heating/AC subcontractor to come and do the work, but the dates they gave me and the time they told me it would take to do the work was not even close to accurate.  And, the subcontractor wasn't even available when they said he would come.  Then, once the subcontractor did come, I found out that the description of work the NextStepLiving people used wasn't accurate, and wouldn't work in my home.  I eventually worked it all out directly with the subcontractor, but NextStepLiving was not knowledgeable in what was required
Then, the inspector of some of the insulation work came and failed the insulation work - requiring that the work be redone (the work was being done as part of the home heating inspection and improvement).  So I needed to reschedule having the insulation work done (take another day off of work).  In addition, there was a problem with my thermostat, which the inspector had managed to unseat from the housing, resulting in it not working any longer.
When I called NextStepLiving to get help, all they did was tell me that it was the inspector and he was a subcontractor and they couldn't help me and to call him.  I had no way to contact him, since NextStepLiving was the only company I had contracted with.  They eventually sent someone out - who knew nothing about a programmable Heat/AC thermostat, wouldn't even touch it, and he left.  I finally contacted my Heating/AC company and they came out to fix the issue.
All in all - i would say - use them for the energy audit - but nothing else.  Or if you do choose to use them for something else, find out up front if they are doing the work themselves, or if they will be subcontracting it.  If it is subcontracted, I would suggest you go elsewhere and arrange for the work yourself.

    The Worthmore Group
The Worthmore Group. They came right on time. They worked like dogs for three days. They were really above and beyond. I had a bad knee and they offered to do some things for me. They have made a huge difference in this house. I walked in from outside and you could actually tell it was warmer. They insulated the doors, the attic and checked all the windows. They did an outstanding. I have nothing but fine things to say about them. We saved several thousand dollars working with the Worthmore Group.

    Bacon Construction
We are waiting for him to return our call; he has not returned our call and I would not give him a high mark on that. He owes us a few things from the work that he did before, a screen for one of the windows and some other minor things. It has been well over a year. We have called him a number of times an he has not gotten back to us. Overall they do good work, are neat and they show up, while they are doing the bulk of it. But as they say the devil is in the details and it is hard to get them to come back and finish the last couple of little things that need to be done. I think they were pretty pricey.

    Energy Tech Solutions Inc
She came over with all their certificates. they were very professional and on time. 1/3 of the price of other companies. They were very competetive for that kind of insullation. They even sent us a follow up letter to make sure we were happy. The contarctor said they were going to switch to them because they were so good!

Super Soundproof Window Treatments & SP Windows
Emailed Richard and got a prompt reply. Was invited to his home to see and "hear" the soundproof windows he has installed there. He answered all of my questions and I placed an order. There was a piece missing in the order (stuff happens) - Richard made good on it immediately with a rush order to replace it. Installation was done perfectly and now the stadium and aircraft noise is only a whisper. I'll say it again - You won't be disappointed!

The workers showed up exactly when they said they would. They were very nice & polite. They finished exactly when they said they would too. They cleaned up everything nightly. They are excellent carpenters and are very professional. The quality of their work showed their experience. We are very pleased with everything they did.

    ALL SEASON WINDOWS & INSULATION
My plasterer told me that my house is totally not insulated when he was doing my walls. I then looked up the National Grid website to find contractors that can give rebates, and also checked Angie's List to find someone that suits my needs. That's how I ended up with All Season. I can always get a hold of Tom and he pretty much started within days. Work was done in two days. Because my house was being renovated, Tom and his boys drilled holes from the inside to blow insulation in. They also put vents into the attic to install the insulation. I checked the first and second floor and insulation can be found almost everywhere in the walls. Afterwards, he helped me fill out my National Grid rebate form. I think the price is pretty good considering the rebate and the attic also being done (1400 sq ft and no physical access).

    EDDIE MAC'S HOME IMPROVEMENT LLC
After making numerous attempts to get someone to look at our bathroom I joined Angie's list and gave Ed a call. He was out the next day with a plumber to give us an estimate. Ed was professional and friendly. He kept in constant communication and answered all our questions and offered opinions. He met us at home improvement store to pick out supplies and even picked up our tile and glass doors for the shower. The overall experience was very positive, he closed my windows when it rained and even took the dog out! My new bathroom is fabulous and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use him again.
