ALux Renovations LLCAs a disabled veteran I received a grant from the V.A. I got in touch with Paul Fugeure *spelling* with Owens Corning. He took photos of my basement and came up with a master suite/ bathroom, laundry room, as well as rehab room that would be built into my basement and garage. We hit quite a few snags with the VA on getting all the necessary paperwork processed but O.C. stuck with me for 2 years while the VA put us through hoops. They started construction on time once everything was put through. Their project manager Pete Monaghan, and his team were very professional and got down to business. Any slight changes to the project that had to be made were thoroughly dealt with and communicated to me as they occurred. The only holdup we had was awaiting a sink and shower that had to be custom made to order, this was not something any of us had known about a they had ever dealt with handicap rated bathroom equipment. Once everything was delivered the project was promptly finished, a few weeks past the projected timeline but still done expertly and professionally.- James R.

BThe office people and the installers were very friendly. There were some minor delays. After installation, there were a couple areas that needed adjustment as there was leakage. They did fix those. I realize that having a metal roof is not all that compatible with these types of gutters. but, the most important thing was to avoid the clogging of leaves and other tree debris. At this very time (10/14/2020) I do see some imbedded leaves, but, will wait to see what happens. Hopefully, there will be no future problems. Right now, I can say I WOULD hire them again, but, we'll see.

AContractor Rich Rivet of Cedar Falls Construction did the near impossible: He managed to transform a horrible, dilapidated, totally un-level original floor into a thing of hardwood beauty. Rich is a man of determination — he sees a problem and focuses all his attention and considerable talents (born of over 20 experience on many, many properties) on finding a solution. This floor was a mess, and I feared it was irretrievable, but he worked magic and found a way to turn it into something of beauty. Rich worked with me, constantly making sure of what I envisioned for the project, and that he was making that vision a reality. He wanted more than anything to make sure that I was happy with his work — every step of the way, as well as with the finished product. He takes great pride in his work, is a stickler for detail and making sure a job is done to perfection, and that the home owner is completely happy with the finished product. The team he has assembled is as top-notch as the contractor himself: wonderful people, pleasant, punctual, hard-charging, professional, courteous, and as exacting in their work as Rich Rivet is. AElement Repair is awesome and a very professional company! They did an absolutely beautiful job on the tear down and re-tile of my shower!. A prior contractor I hired tiled the shower incorrectly causing a major water leak! Element Repair discussed and advised me as to what the repair would require. They were at my house on time each day they were scheduled and they cleaned and put everything away each day they finished. They also kept me informed on a daily basis as to their progress and the work they performed while at my home. I plan on hiring them for a few more projects that I will complete in 2021. They are a 5 star company and you will be very, very happy with any project that you hire them to complete!! Their workmanship is beautifully and I 100% recommend them for any home projects you may be considering!

AMy experience with Home Improvement Specialists has been excellent. My home needed a wide variety of repairs and upgrades, things that had been neglected in recent years due to my husband's medical issues which prevented him from completing projects he had started when he lost his vision. Unfortunately my husband passed away and I had to hire someone to finish the work he started, and to make some pretty major upgrades to my home. The first person I hired didn’t get very far before needing surgery himself, leaving him incapacitated and unable to do the work. I reached out to Home Improvement Specialists after seeing their excellent rating on Angie’s List and after meeting with, and talking to Jody and Sean extensively about my needs, I immediately had peace of mind in their ability to complete the work and in the skill level of their employees. Every employee that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting has been kind and professional, and have completed their assigned tasks to perfection. Jody and Sean have gone above and beyond for not only me, but also for my mom who recently fell off of her front steps cracking her head open on the side of her house. When I asked for an estimate to install a railing at Mom’s home, after hearing what had happened, Jody not only provided me with the estimate in a day, she also had the railing installed within two days of the accident. Every project to date has been provided at a fair cost by highly skilled employees in a professional and compassionate manner. AI called Steve from House Matters to explain a project of replacing a damaged back door metal canopy/awning and rebuild the bottom 3 cellar stairs which were rotting and falling apart. A few days later, Steve came to our place in Chicopee and we discussed ideas and he wrote down what will be needed for the projects. Steve e-mailed me the written estimate which was reasonable. An agreed time was set and Steve and a helper arrived promptly to begin work on rebuilding the cellar stairs. -Removal of existing lower 3 stair steps. -instillation of posts to support a new hand rail -Instillation of new stringers -Instillation of new stair treads -Instillation of new rails from post to basement -Instillation of upper railing from doorway to doorway on exterior wall Metal Canopy/Awning -Removal of existing awning -Instillation of a new 36inch awning The work performed, over 2 days, was excellent and went smoothly. The metal canopy/awning had to ordered. When it came in, Steve called me for an instillation date. They cleaned and disposed of all debris I would recommend House Matters for your home improvement projects. Steve is very friendly and knowledgeable.

AI had serious damage to my roof after a storm. Rene was able to quickly assess the situation and resolve it before it got any worse. I was so relieved when I was able to contact him right away, he was very concerned when I explained the damage and he knew exactly what needed to be done. He was on-site quicker than I expected and his team was so friendly and courteous to me and my family. They took care of every little detail including cleaning up to the point where it looked like nothing ever happened. I could not be happier with the job that was done. We will definitely be calling them for future projects and I will recommend them to everyone I know.
