Mr. Martowski and his worker showed up on time, were professional and finished the work in 4 hours. I have a big two story house. I had received two other estimates close to $400.00. I will be calling them this fall to clean the gutters. They are a reputable company and I recommend them! I am a retired law enforcement executive, and feel I am a pretty good judge of character.

The roof install was perfect. No problems and the job was done when they said it would be. However, the gutter guards were not installed. They have made multiple promises to come and finish the job, but no one has shown up. I've also left messages that were never responded to.

At original consultation Eric immediately went onto our roof to check out what needed to be done. (I met with 5/6 companies to get the right fit and feel, 3 did not even go to roof ?)

Eric wasn't so much a sales person, but a person who does roof/gutter installations.I didn't get that hard sell feel, and this is what really set him/them apart.  I had done some prior research and he considered all that needed to be done and conveyed the details to me.  Things I was fuzzy (which was several things as I had never bought a roof before)  on he clarified.

The contract was emailed promptly, on 12/8th...the service date was 12/19th.

The morning of, crew arrived at 7/715am and they were very courteous (great personalities). They knocked to let us know they were there, and as someone else noted in their review they asked if we needed to move our car from garage. They set to work at 8am, we returned at 3/330 pm and they were cleaning up (a material setup to form a shoot from the roof to the dumpster was used to funnel the debris, and this helped keep everything neat and easier to cleanup in the end). Since we were having our holiday party the next day, I called Eric that am to inquire about the dumpster, which he thought would be picked up on Monday, as the dumpster company wasn't open on Saturdays. He made sure they came Friday afternoon, and removed the dumpster even before we returned at 3/330pm, what great customer service! .

I didn't get the pleasure to meet Roy, but it was a pleasure to talk with him on the phone.

We received a 4-Star coverage warranty, it was suppose to arrive in 2 weeks, approx. That should have been around the 1st of the new year. I contacted Roy 1/25th (giving them 4-6 weeks a reasonable amount of time for paperwork to be processed) and Roy  replied the very next day noting he had contacted CertainTeed, and the warranty should arrive no later than middle of Feb. It arrived on 2/9th.  Normally this doesn't happen, but encase you hire them, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, should the warranty try to pull a Houdini, just let Roy know and he'll find it.

Thanks again for our beautiful new roof.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor, despite being Angie's top rated contractor.  I can't imagine how this contractor is the top rated contractor on Angie's list, unless he paid a number of people to join and write fake reviews.
Contractor arrived 2 hours late, which did not necessarily bother me as I was working from home but might bother others (1st red flag).  After looking at the properties, the contractor decided he wanted $6,100 to clear the snow/ice dams from the 3 properties, but would take $5,500 if I paid cash (2nd red flag).  That's $1,833.33 per house ($300 for the snow and $1,533.33 for the ice dams), which I am well aware is very high, but I was in a tight spot and needed the work done immediately.  We discussed the scope which INCLUDED removal of snow/ice from the walkways and decks below.
When they were almost done with the 2nd house, the contractor decided to let me know (via text message) that he messed up when giving me the price and that I would have to remove the snow from the walkways and decks...yes the snow/ice that THEY threw off the roof onto decks and walkways that were completely cleared before they started their work.  Long story short, I gave them $4,000 and told them to leave after they were done with the second house.  They had cleared the snow from all 3 houses and cleared the ice dams from 2 of the houses.  I gave them more than I felt they deserved because to be honest, I don't need the aggravation of arguing with a contractor and 4 laborers by myself, in the dark...and it's only money...I'll make more.  This contractor on the other hand will never make anymore money from me or anyone that I know.
I wish I could upload pictures to this review to show the mess they left behind.  They left the entire season's worth of snow/ice accumulation that was on the roofs on the walkways/decks below (depth varied but about 3-4 feet).  They buried walkways, decks, trash cans, grills, GAS METERS and GAS VENTS (from the furnaces and hot water heaters).  I am lucky they didn't kill us.
After they left I spent 6 hours after work (6pm-12am) with a snow blower, shovel and ice scraper and one of my tenants (luckily one was home and came out to help), clearing the walkways to the front door so tenants could actually access their apartments.  The following day I spent 9 hours with my tractor/bucketloader clearing out bulkheads, gas vents and gas meters and walkways to the rear doors.  Of course by that time their mess had frozen solid and my tractor was barely able to cut through the ice, but luckily I have access to heavy equipment to do some of the work.  I then spent 6 hours shoveling out decks last night.
To put the cost into perspective, I was able to get a tree service out with a boom truck the following day to complete the ice dam removal on the 3rd house.  Remember, $1,533.33 for ice dam removal with a crew of 4 laborers and ladders...I paid $400 for the same job using a 2 man crew with a boom truck.  Last I checked the overhead associated with a $100k truck is much higher than that of an F-250 with some ladders on it, but somehow it cost me about 1/4 the price of Dave Lane Home Improvement.
To be somewhat fair, it wasn't even the ridiculous fee that made me dissatisfied.  I knew I was paying a premium when I agreed to pay it.  What put me over the edge was trying to change the price after the price had already been negotiated and leaving 1/3 to 1/2 the job to be done by me.  Pushing snow off a roof is easy with gravity on your side...shoveling that same snow off the ground below is most of the work!!!!!
This contractor is dishonest and the work is does is shoddy!  Do not believe the other will regret it.

They were on time and completed the work in the contracted time. Had another contractor do this work for two years before this date and always had problems right after they completed the work. Would highly recommend this contract!

They have done a very nice job for several of us in the family.  They were very professional and were in and out.  They came when they said they were going to be here and worked through to get it done.  They have been here a couple of times.  They charge by the foot and then the downspouts and everything else.  They were here within half an hour of their schedule time.

My experience with Vista Home Improvement was okay, they did all they could do, it's just a tricky situation we had here, the gutters just weren't handling the rain coming off the roof and they called in somebody else and they put a barrier up there, I would say they tried to make good on it, but it was a tough job.  I didn't have any problems with them.

I only ran into one problem.  I called them, they came right out, admit to a mistake
on their part and corrected the issue to my satisfaction.  From start to finish,
they were very professional, courteous and fair.

From the moment I met Brian, I had a good feeling about him, he came across as warm and genuine, explaining every step of the process, including how most insurance companies work, regarding homeowners claims, for this type of work. Initially my insurance company, Commerce, did not want to cover my entire house for the siding, only wanting to pay for one side of my house. However, after a few persuasive phone calls, including one to a supervisor, they managed to come around. Once the insurance was approved, the process went smoothly. Included in Brian?s estimate was a copy of his contractors license and his proof of liability insurance.  Always ask for theses forms from your contractor, if they won't furnish them, run! The first day of the job, his crew showed up promptly at 7am, ready to work, they were polite and professional. Our roof took 1 day and the siding took about one week. Never having a roof done, I was surprised to find some of the shingles not laying flat when I got home that day. While the crew was still there cleaning up, I did mentioned this concern to Steve, site supervisor, and he said not to worry, once the sun hits them, the will lay flat. I didn't realized that's how roofing shingles work. The Doubting Thomas that I am, I googled this and sure enough, Steve was right, after few days with some good sunlight and heat from my house radiating thru my roof, the shingles did flatten out. Roof looks good. Onto the siding, we initially picked a different color, however, three days prior to the start of the job, we decided to go with a completely different color from a different manufacture. I was unsure how this request would sit with Brian, considering, it was 3 days prior to the project start date. However, he calmly and reassuringly said this was not a problem, and I want you to be happy. The siding went well and I was able to make some changes regarding window trim and his crew was very accommodating, not once being annoyed or bothered by my request. They always responded, "You're the customer and we want you to be happy." Siding looks great, lays flat, no bubbles. When the siding was finished, they started on the shed. Relatively easy task, however, I did have some minor changes to the original plan and once again, they were very accommodating. I even bought new shed doors and they were helpful on installing them. My shed looks awesome! Onto the storm door, I ordered a new Anderson 4000 series storm door from Home depot. It took three doors to finally get the right one (First door was warped, second door lock didn?t work,). The installation for this door was difficult, however, Brian?s crew did a great job installing the door, looks great and compliments the entry way. They even came out on a Saturday to finish the installation! If I calculated all the man hours just for the door installation, it must have been 8-9 hrs. However, it was not due to their inability to install the door properly, but rather due to a manufactures defect of two prior doors.

In closing, I am very pleased with Brian and his crew, (Steve, Rocky, Brendan, Joe, Howie and all the other names, whom I forgot) for the professional job they did for this very discriminating customer. Throughout the entire process, Brian was in constant communication we me and was always a phone call away. If there was ever a concern or a potential problem, Brian responded quickly to make things right. His customer service by far exceeds most companies I have ever dealt with, Bravo! I am planning on getting new windows in a few years and Brian should be expecting a call from me. I would recommend his company,  Vista Home Improvement, without reservation.
