    SuperiorAir Duct Cleaning
They were over an hour late and they said they tried to call me, which I appreciate, but they had the incorrect number, When one of the workers started the job he muttered to himself "I hate this job". I don't know if he meant in general or if he meant that particular type of service, but it was really unprofessional. The second worker was very nice though. I did have to ask them to inspect the chimney caps though as that was part of what I paid for, and they were about to leave without doing that. Overall, the price was great, but I'm not sure if I would hire this company again.

Very good... chimney did not need cleaning. It was nice to have an honest technician for once. I paid up front thinking I required cleaning, so my payment was given as a credit towards a future service. Great customer service!!!

Kevin and his crew did a great job on my 2 projects - replacing the chimney crown and cutting down the size of the fireplace hearth in the living room. Both projects were done on time and within budget at the quoted price.

I'm very pleased with the work done.  I wasn't expecting this repair to cost a thousand, but the chimney looks very good and the workers and Kevin, the owner, were all very knowledgeable and pleasant people.  It was all completed in a day and left very neat.

The contractor did a fine job cleaning out our chimney and woodstove, quick and efficient and left no mess. They even cleaned out a couple dead birds that had fallen into our basement ash trap without complaints.  They left us a no pressure quote to install a chimney cap to prevent a repeat of the bird incident.  We'll do business with them again.

    Charista Construction Services, Inc
Owner provided the fan. Installers arrived on time, knew what they were doing and installed the fan from the rooftop, thus not requiring entry into the attic.  The chimney leak was water seeping through the porous brick face and was sealed by application of a silicone coating.  All this work was planned ahead of time and went as planned.
The job might have been done more cheaply by others, but Charista has a reputation for getting the job done correctly, and they did.

When we were getting quotes for this job, Mike was the only one to ask to come into the house and examine the chimney from the bottom where it connected to the furnace. It had been so long since it had been cleaned that it was just horrible! He showed me, using a mirror, all the debris from 25 years of burning oil and having fires in the fireplace. It was frightening! He explained to us that our fairly new furnace was not working efficiently because of the clogged chimney. Then he sat with us at the dining room table and explained everything to us and what each item in the quote was. He showed us all his proofs of license and insurance as well as a list of references. He was so professional and knowledgeable as well as very polite and personable. His quote was quite a bit higher than the others but no one had included the major cleaning, steel cover or the repair of the damper. In fact the others had merely stepped out of their trucks, looked up at the chimney, and quoted a price that covered the chimney only. I so appreciated Mike's thorough examination and complete restoration of our chimney system to restore us to safe and clean use of our fireplace again.

    Longmeadow Stone & Restoration
If you're just looking for the cheapest price then go elsewhere, but if you want real service and pride in workmanship, use Longmeadow Stone and Restoration. Our chimney was in bad shape and we had started having some leakage into our attic as a result. He was there when he said he would be and he informed us well in advance of any day he wouldn't be working. In the course of the repair he had identified an issue he couldn't see upon the initial inspection and as a result, only charged us for the materials to repair that portion and not the labor. He is very personable, professional and takes great pride in his work. Our chimney is gorgeous, safe and functional now and I can't recommend Longmeadow Stone and Restoration enough. You won't be disappointed in the quality of their work...5 stars!

    Chimney Works of Connecticut
I contacted several Angie's List Chimney/Fireplace for help with a specific issue. We have a fireplace with a broken control for the damper, which comes through a decorative mantle facing on the front. I clearly stated my wish to have that repaired, searching for someone who could do it. Only this company responded that they might be able to help. I sent several pictures back and forth with their representative. This company indicated they could do such things and said they'd come out to do an inspection and see what parts would be needed. We set an appointment for a few weeks out.
Immediately before the appointment, she called stating they had truck problems and wouldn't be able to make it. We rescheduled for a couple weeks later. She and her assistant were late arriving for that appointment. For both events, she called several times to communicate the difficulties. She was very polite and pleasant at all times.
She performed a thorough inspection of my fireplace, woodstove, furnace, and chimneys. She performed a partial cleaning of one of the chimney stacks. She wrote a detailed list of all the concerns she had. She recommended several thousand dollars worth of repairs and declined to fix the broken damper control. While I respect her professional opinion about fire safety, I am annoyed that my specific and sole request for service was not completed. I would not use this provider again. My need was clearly articulated. She was willing to receive photographs to consult on work. It would have been simple for me to send another photo and have her decline to service my home. I don't dispute that a thorough inspection would be expensive, I was simply expecting my service need would also be met. I feel duped out of nearly $300.
