  • Bruno and his team removed our rotten wood deck, the old concrete floor and steps and installed a paver patio (The RoundTable Collection in Onyx). His team did a great job of matching the existing fieldstone foundation by laying fieldstone steps topped with granite. We could not be happier with our new patio. The team was punctual and worked long days to complete the job in just a few days.

  • The project exceeded our expectations in all regards. All work was cometed on schedule and budget including addition of granite edge on the porch. Kyle was very professional and accommodating and quite helpful in working with us on the design and materials selection. We love our new entryway and highly recommend Kyle.

  • We hired Earthscape last Fall to redo the brick walkway and
stairs in front of our house.
Josh Degen from Earthscape came and provided a verygood assessment of how the original walkway had been badly constructed without a proper base. He gave us a thorough estimate with detailed descriptions for each of the tasks involved in building a new walkway - such as excavating the area to a proper depth, putting down a base layer of crushed stone, installing a top layer of screed stone dust, installing the bricks and steps, installing paver edge restraints, filling the brick joints with polymeric joint stabilizer. Josh told us that the bricks used in the original walkway were of high quality and reused all of them with no wastage at all. The original walkway had used 10 slabs of bluestone for the steps. Josh offered to take them and give us a $500 credit for it and he advised us to use granite blocks instead for the steps. Earthscape gave us the best overall estimate for the project and theirs was 10-15% more competitive than the others we got. I happened to be working from home during the
period when they did the work and observed a lot of the construction process. Josh brought in a team of well experienced and professional workers who did a very thorough job of everything.
During the course of this project, I brought up the idea of installing a lighting system for the new walkway. Josh offered us very good advice on this as well, installing a Cast Lighting system with China Hat bronze & copper path lights along the walkway, copper & brass spot lights to illuminate the façade of our house as well as uplighters to accentuate a set of pine trees along our
driveway. All of this was with a low voltage system that merely plugs to a wall outlet in the exterior of our house with a step-down transformer. We can control the whole system manually with a switch inside the house. Josh also built into the system the option to install a remote controller or a timer-based controller, if we desired that in the future.
Earthscape also did a bunch of landscaping work in our front yard, pruning down overgrown pine trees, bushes, spacing out hasta plants that were crowding each other too much as well as planting a Japanese Maple tree. Areas of the lawn that were trodden over during the construction of the walkway were also repaired with screened loam, fertilizer and grass seed.
The end result is that our entire front yard got a very nice face lift, featuring a gorgeous new walkway and a lighting system that makes it all pop in the evening hours. We are extremely pleased with the results.
Earlier this Spring, when I turned the sprinkler system (which was already in place) on to water the lawn, I found out that one of the sprinkler heads got accidentally buried deep under the soil during the course of this work. When I brought this up with Josh, like any good businessman, he readily owned up to it and took care of it very promptly, making arrangements with the owner of the business that had installed our sprinkler system years ago.
I whole heartedly recommend Earthscape for any type of hardscaping and landscaping projects that you have in mind for your residence or business.

  • Tom and his team were true professionals.  Tom was very responsive with all of my questions via email and during the quote process.  He did not try to over sell other options like some other companies did.  His team went above and beyond in the design of the patio.  I had some leveling issues in my back yard that Tom and his team easily adjusted to make sure the patio came out level and pitched away from the house.  His team was on time each day and completed the patio in two days time.  clean up of the area was also nicely done.  I would definitely use his team again for a future project if needed.  His prices were also very reasonable compared to some others in the Westford, Littleton, Acton area.

  • I described the problem to Daniel - water entering garage from retaining wall adjacent to one side of garage. He suggested that rainfall from half the roof, which  exited from two downspouts near the retaining wall, was adding to the water exiting through the wall by the garage. The solution was a deep drywell and a set of connectors to the downspouts which used septic system filters for leaf cleanout. This works perfectly.
Job was done in one day and includes fill and grading. I'm very pleased with the results and plan to hire Littleton Earthworks again.

  • Professional, responsive, on-time, easy and pleasant to work with. Excellent job of explaining options and what was needed as well as what to expect before and after. Willing to go above and beyond. Did an extra part that curved around to the mailbox. From start to finish a real pleasure. I had seven estimates, and I can say that all other companies were difficult to work with, did not return calls promptly and simply did not measure up to the high standard you can expect from Atlas. A real pleasure to work with Atlas. Use Atlas. They are simply the BEST!!

  • From the start a language barrier existed that caused plenty of miscommunications? throughout the entire project.
Work that was assured to be performed was not, and a lot of the work that was performed was not up to the standards I requested or expected. I would be assured that things would be corrected only to find out, usually too late to change, that they were not !
The owner, in my opinion, did not understand English well enough to completely get what I was asking for.  That's the only plausible reason I can fuigure for why he would always tell me he was going to do/fix something and then not do it still.
When I was told costs would be" X" amount, the costs always turned out to be more. I was told I would be given receipts to show  the cost of the deck materials - this never happened.

  • They quickly responded to our initial inquires and we eventually hired their designer to help us design the side yard where the pool used to be and especially the front entrance. We loved the design, but even with nips and tucks it was too expensive to implement. We decided to have the pool removed and would implement as much as our budget allowed. Their designer, and then later their construction crew, continuously worked with us trying to get as much done as possible within budget. As the work on the front entrance began, we had an impromptu design meeting and came up with a front entrance design that met most of our wishes without breaking the bank. The project continued with an understanding that the front entrance would proceed on a "cost plus" basis.
The construction crew did an excellent job of demolishing the pool and hauling away the debris. Fill was hauled in when they decided there was not enough soil available to create a "pleasing grade". Top soil was brought in and neatly spread around. 5 evergreens were planted along the property line. (We did the seeding ourselves to save money, but their pricing was reasonable).
The front entrance slowly took shape with everyone re-assessing the design as work progressed. The crew was very flexible and touched base with us as additional work or material was needed. They walked the property with us to select rocks used for the front terracing. They placed the rocks with the care and precision someone might use to set a table or plan a garden. The final result easily exceeded our expectations and greatly improved the appeal and access to our home. (The neighbors also agree).
The crew was friendly, courteous, and professional. They cleaned up each evening and had no problem making the small adjustments along the way that makes a project "just right".
The only real negative appeared when we got the bill for the work beyond the original contracted work. The cost for the additional work associated with the "pay as you go" front entrance was as we expected. We were surprised to find additional charges that doubled the cost for the pool removal. There was a big additional charge for dumping the concrete since it contained a wire mess along the bottom. We were originally told it might cost more if they found metal in the concrete, but we were never told it might add thousands of dollars. Similarly we were told "we might need fill" without being told how much it would cost. There was clearly a mistake made in estimating the cost of the pool removal and to their credit they did limit the additional charges to their costs.
The bottom line is they were easy to work with, flexible, and left behind a yard and an entrance we love for a lot less than we feared it would cost.

  • From start to finish the service experience provided was excellent. The owner came to the house with one of his crewmembers to survey the site. He offered ideas and valuable feedback. Since the walkway was so long, he offered cost-cutting suggestions. We decided to go with all his suggestions and go with the pavers. It took them only a few days to complete. They were there early to very late each day - rain or shine. The finished walkway has made a huge difference in our curb appeal and home value. It is a very professional job and the artisanship excellent. They were easy to do business with and answered all our questions completely. We would highly recommend them and are planning to hire them again for an outside patio.
