    Netto's Painting & Carpentry
Amazing. Although the quality of work is top notch, Netto usually works with us to price jobs comparably with other quotes. He has a team of workers that are experienced in many different areas. As an example, while they were painting my house, they built new steps on my deck, which was slanted because of an improperly set footing. They dug out the footing and replaced it, and now I have a straight deck with beautiful stairs. And the charge for this extra but important step was minimal. Best of all, he communicates quickly and delivers on the dates he promises, which is impossible to find. They painted my house (exterior), and also did all kinds of carpentry and painting inside. The guys are always courteous and professional. I highly recommend Netto.

    Marco Polo Construction
I hired Marco Polo Construction to update and renovate my condo in the Back Bay. This included a full kitchen remodel, bathroom update, refinishing floors, and painting the entire condo. I have nothing but positive things to say about the contractors - they were friendly, professional, kept the place clean, and very responsive to my requests. The workmanship was exceptional. The only downside was that the project took far longer than originally quoted.

    Ayotte Home Improvements
We were very happy with Bob Ayotte and his team and would hire them again. We hired Ayotte Home Improvements to remodel the two and a half bathrooms in our ~25-year old house. In the two full bathrooms they stripped everything down to the studs, replaced vanity, counter tops, sinks, and toilets, and installed tile in the new bath/showers. They started demolition in January and received final sign-off from the local building inspector in April. Bobs team was very respectful of the rest of our house, doing everything within their power to reduce the spread of dust and dirt from the construction areas. All work done was high quality. Of exceptional note was the tile work. Brian at Nashua Tile was extremely helpful in choosing the right style and colors for the bath/shower tiles to coordinate with our counter tops and overall color scheme. Kirk, who installed the tiles did a meticulous job and the result added a real visual pop to the two full bathrooms. As with any project of this scope, there were issues to be transcended. When the newly installed shower plumbing leaked, Bob recalled his plumber to address the issue through the hallway wall and arranged for re-plastering and painting. Similarly, when the wrong toilet and fixtures were installed and the faucet leaked, the plumber fixed the issue with little to no impact to the overall schedule. Bobs allowances were reasonable, allowing for better on a scale of good, better, best. Our selections, which included some best toilets and shower fixtures, came in very close to Bobs original allowances. Bobs preferred suppliers were easy to work with, although those with 9 to 5 jobs may find their scarcity of evening and weekend hours problematic. Overall, a great experience!

    Ansara Construction
Brian was everything I hope for. He came on time, opened up the damaged area and advised me of the work to be done and the contingencies involved. Brian and his helper worked steadily for two days, answered my questions and used the materials we discussed as well as donating a course of copper flashing. I saw the process unfold from start to finish and could not be more pleased. I would re-hire Brian in a minute for further work.

    Netto's Painting & Carpentry
Netto is not only extremely knowledgeable regarding carpentry and painting, but he comes up with great ideas on how to do things better, or save money. His team is in early, works late, and do high quality work. Even with their busy schedule, Netto is great at keeping things moving and doing the jobs when he plans. No delays. We are happy to have found Netto, as he is our one and only place to go for any work on the home, inside or out. I give him the highest of recommendations.

    SOS Home Services Inc
We own a 40 year old home that not been properly maintained by previous owners, and has most of it's original windows, and is heavily sheltered by trees on both ends, where there is a lot of moisture and little sunlight.  The previous owner did a DIY paint job on the house, which didn't last, and used the paint to cover some areas of damaged and worn siding, window frames, etc.  We didn't spot these until several years had passed and the paint had worn and rot had begun.  The home also had very outdated poorly made DIY shutters, which looked horrible and were styled out of the 1950's, and detracted from the look of the home.  As we are thinking of downsizing and plan to put our home on the market, we wanted to have these issues addressed quickly, as well as having the home look better and be in good shape for our own enjoyment.  We contacted several other reputable painting contractors for estimates, but most were already booked for the season. A few said they could try to fit us in as they had a half day free up here and there, but that it would take several weeks to get the job done that way, and they probably wouldn't even start until early June.  They also wanted to charge significantly more than Pros Home Services - in some cases, double the cost.
We contacted Pros Home Services, and spoke with RayeAnn, who was very professional and explained their process.  Shortly after speaking with her, the owner, Sander, contacted us, as RayeAnn let him know that we were on a tight schedule and needed to get the work done quickly. Sander and his associate, Jack, came out the next day (Friday afternoon) to speak with me and go over all the areas that we needed to have addressed.  They were very patient, happy to answer my many questions, and did not give me a "hard sell" or use scare tactics as some others did, trying to tell me that if I didn't have them do this or that quickly, that major damage could occur, or that I just "had" to pay extra to get 2 coats, etc.  Unlike the other painting contractors who gave us estimates, they had a computer and printer with them, so they were able to provide me with a detailed, itemized estimate before they left my home.  They also said that they had a large enough crew that they could squeeze in the job before the of the month, as long as we didn't get a long spell of bad weather.
After we let them know that we accepted their estimate and would like to move forward, things started moving quickly.  Sander and RayeAnn kept in touch by phone and email, and a crew came out to power wash the house on Tuesday.  After allowing a few days to dry (and having two more days of rain and cold), they called on the 17th to let us know a crew would begin work at 8:30 am the next morning. They arrived by 8:00am to set up, and sure enough, at 8:30 they were removing shutters, hose holders, and were scraping and sanding.  They worked all day, very efficiently, with the crew taking turns to break for lunch, so that someone was always working - one guy was sanding & priming spots as the others ate, so that when they finished, they could begin putting on the first coat of paint, while he took his lunch break. Since we decided to change the color of the house, we needed two coats, as we were putting a dark color over bright white, and one coat didn't give enough coverage.  The crew checked in with me several times, and they also were in touch with Sander, and he checked in with me by phone during the day as well, to make sure there were no issues and that I understood what would be accomplished that day, and what the plans were for the next day.
On Saturday morning, the crew arrived to put on the 2nd coat, and the carpenters arrived to do the more extensive repairs that were needed. Again, they had an extremely efficient way of working, there was never a time that anyone on the crew was idle, and they checked in with us frequently to let us know when they needed windows and doors opened or closed, to double check our desires for placement of shutters, etc.  They were all polite, professional, and very considerate of our home, cars and yard.  They carefully covered our cars to ensure no stray paint drops, splashes, etc. would cause any damage, and they picked up every bit of scrap wood, paint chips, nails, litter, etc. and were careful of the plants, bushes, etc. around our home. Sander also called to go over the issues the carpenters found, and to provide us with a verbal estimate of the cost to fix those issues that couldn't be easily determined when the original estimate was made, because they were hidden under a ton of paint & caulk that the previous owner had used.  Once he spoke with us and we agreed to the work, he then gave the crew the okay to proceed.  The final task was installation of the new shutters, which we supplied. As that was done, the on site crew leader let us know that things were wrapping up, so that we could take a look around, and tell him if there was anything amiss, before they were packed up. While we were doing a walk around, Jack arrived to do a walk around with us, too, and to answer questions, address any issues, have the crew touch up little spots that we hadn't even noticed, and to make sure they didn't leave any trash, sawdust, etc. in the yard.  Once we were satisfied, he then went over the additional costs and work that the carpenters did, and collected the balance of payment for the job from us.  The house looks absolutely amazing. The siding repairs were seamless, and blend right in, as do the new window frames, trim and porch post repairs.  The yard is perfect, they even swept my front porch, and put all the outdoor furniture, trash cans, etc. back into place.  They were very careful about how and where they cleaned their equipment so that there is no sign of paint, etc. in my yard or driveway.  We are extremely pleased with everyone on the crew, as well as Sander, RayeAnn & Jack, and will definitely be using them again if our next home needs any type of repair work or painting.  The price was unbeatable as well.  This is an oversized, two story raised ranch, and even with the additional costs for the carpentry work - materials and labor - and a 2nd coat for the color change, they still came in $4000 below the next estimate.

Karl is true professional - responsive, responsible and a master carpenter.  He takes his time to do a good job.   Our job was hard in that our house is older and nothing is straight.  He was very diligent to make it all work and look great.   He has good ideas and is a pleasure to work with.  Would hire him again in a heartbeat!

    Eric Johnson Construction
He completed this work while we were out of town to minimize the disruption of disconnecting the electrical main. While the entire project cost more than I had originally budgeted, all of the extra work was well worth it.
