Tile Installation reviews in Littleton

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We were very happy with Bob Ayotte and his team and would hire them again. We hired Ayotte Home Improvements to remodel the two and a half bathrooms in our ~25-year old house. In the two full bathrooms they stripped everything down to the studs, replaced vanity, counter tops, sinks, and toilets, and installed tile in the new bath/showers. They started demolition in January and received final sign-off from the local building inspector in April. Bob’s team was very respectful of the rest of our house, doing everything within their power to reduce the spread of dust and dirt from the construction areas. All work done was high quality. Of exceptional note was the tile work. Brian at Nashua Tile was extremely helpful in choosing the right style and colors for the bath/shower tiles to coordinate with our counter tops and overall color scheme. Kirk, who installed the tiles did a meticulous job and the result added a real visual “pop” to the two full bathrooms. As with any project of this scope, there were issues to be transcended. When the newly installed shower plumbing leaked, Bob recalled his plumber to address the issue through the hallway wall and arranged for re-plastering and painting. Similarly, when the wrong toilet and fixtures were installed and the faucet leaked, the plumber fixed the issue with little to no impact to the overall schedule. Bob’s allowances were reasonable, allowing for “better” on a scale of “good, better, best”. Our selections, which included some “best” toilets and shower fixtures, came in very close to Bob’s original allowances. Bob’s preferred suppliers were easy to work with, although those with 9 to 5 jobs may find their scarcity of evening and weekend hours problematic. Overall, a great experience!

  • It was great to work with Jay. The entire process could not have been more smooth. Jay returned my call the same day and agreed to come out for a free estimate a few days later. Jay was able to fit me in quickly and before the holiday. Jay showed up right on time the day we had scheduled and was extremely efficient and worked very hard. He was able to do the entire tile work for the backsplash in 1 day. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and was patient with me asking questions and being nit-picky. Jay came back the next day to complete the grout and again showed up right on time. He did a fantastic job and even dealt with me closely inspecting the grout and being nit-picky about very minor details. I would highly recommend Jay and would hire him again for another project. He was extremely professional and very friendly and a pleasure to work with and overall it was a great experience from start to finish and I could not be more happy with the completed backsplash.

  •  I was asked what needed to be done and replied that what I described

in the initial contact over the phone was re-grouting and some tile to be replaced. She looked over tile and said that it didn't need regrouting. So I said what about loose tile around bottom of tub and some other tile to be reinstalled. I think a lot of time was wasted going out to her truck too frequently to get tools .The tools she needed she didn't have. The tile she re installed took way to long and the grout line was not even. And I was her helper> She does good work just takes too long for the amount of work that was done! And that cost me extra..$

  • Jane and Brendon were so easy to work with.  They provided recommendations for the rehab including layout suggestions, and checked with us any time they had questions.  They ran interference for a vendor who they didn't usually deal with, who delivered a poor quality vanity top, and worked to get everyone an equitable resolution.   Mostly we dealt with Jane who was happy to accommodate us when we asked for any changes.  There were times that Jane ordered from her tile and plumbing supply houses just to make it easier for us.  They were patient with unending delays in getting a special order tub.  All in all, a pleasant experience with two wonderful people.  Thanks, Jane and Brendon!

  • I was very happy with the work that Dave and team did in installing my bathroom tiles.   I have a very old house and the floors were very uneven but they were able to level the floor and do a perfect job in installing and cutting the tile.    Would highly recommend.

  • Romulo was very flexible, which was important when we ran into some health problems during the planning stages. When we were ready, I selected tile and we set a date for the work. There was a glitch--the crew that came said some trim work had to be removed and they didn't do that. Romulo was right on top of it; he sent another crew a couple of days later and came himself twice to finish the work. The backsplash looks great, and the price was right. These folks were so great--the kitchen was cleaner after they left! It was one of those raw rainy days this spring; when they stepped outside for a break, they noticed that our garage gutters needed cleaning--and Mike cleaned them. We are so impressed. We certainly plan to hire them again, starting with painting the kitchen.

  • This contractor is our neighbor and he still does not return our messages. I spoke to him in person and called several times. Despite saying he takes on jobs of all sizes, he never returned our calls, even to say he could not perform the work.

  • Pertaining to both the estimate and the job, Ed was very prompt, professional and hard working and a very nice fellow. The job was completed as promised on time and on budget. The tile looks amazing - better than it did newly installed!

  • Work began in early December, 2010. Expectation set was to have two bathrooms at least operational by Christmas. There was a problem getting the floor heating installed on time. Manufacturer cut heating grid to wrong size. That part took two more weeks. Overall work was OK. Bathrooms look good.

The project took much longer than expected. This apparently has to do with the contractor having multiple ongoing projects and limited help. Tile work was good. Carpentry was just OK. Project cleanup each day was less than satisfactory and I found nails and wire clippings strewn around the carpeting in multiple rooms. Final cleanup to haul away old doors never happened. I had to take them away myself.

Contractor seems like a nice guy but seems to have a lot of stress. In this case, the customer is not always right and there were times when I found dealing with him frustrating.

The price for the work was fair but the experience was frustrating. New doors look nice but fit too tightly.

If price is most important and you have lots of experience managing your contractors and know what to expect ahead of time, this might work out for you. I wouldn't do it again.

  • Great experience overall. We received a timely estimate that came in below another estimate we got. The estimator not only did as we asked, he informed us as to what the original problem was with the bathroom flooring (we had a bad builder who blew the mortar-making process). The company was very flexible with us. We needed for them to come in a tight time window, as we had other contractors and vacation plans, and they accommodated us. The subcontractor that came to do the job was fantastic. Very courteous, very understanding of our own particular issues (with the floor and of having young kids who would need a toilet...considering both of ours had floors being worked on!). And the work? We're sad to be selling our house, since the new bathroom floors look unbelievable. Sad that we didn't do this beforehand. Surprising that this company has not received many ratings yet - really good business.
