    I've never given a negative review before.  
    The salesman was very polite, efficient and thorough.  We are remodeling our old house bit by bit, and the experience with sales was good enough for me to think this may be the company to use when we redo our kitchen and bath floors, as well.  I purchased carpet for two areas in an upstairs attic expansion.  He wrote up the contract., approx $2000 sale. After talking, we decided to also replace the stair runner, a $1200 sale.  Our installation for the carpet was the following week, and he told me the stair runner would take approx 10 days.
    Installation day, the installers were mostly unintelligible.  One seemed dazed and the other did not appear to speak English.  One installer wanted the heat on - it was early October and still warm, plus we did not have heat installed for that floor.  Another installer took it upon himself to remove the window a/c from our third floor - not unplug it, turn it off, but remove it from the window, and they did not replace it - couldn't understand my request.  I asked customer service why this was done, and they said they'd call me back.  They didn't.  The dazed installer wanted the balance due on the runner.  The floor carpet was paid w/a credit card.  I was not aware I needed cash or check for the final part of the payment for the runner - my fault - and I asked the installers to get started on the carpet that WAS already paid in full.  The installer called the office, and they would not let him do that, insisting that I had not paid for the carpet.  Even tho' I had a receipt in hand, and they clearly charged our card for the upstairs carpet, they would not let the installers work until I paid for the runner balance, too.  The client services reps argued with me, saying they'd already ordered the carpet for the runner, even tho' they were out there that day to measure the runner, and they - the rep and manager - refused to let me cancel the runner order by not letting the installers at least install the separate floor carpeting, a separate contract and what we'd already paid for in full. 
    Frustrated beyond belief, I reluctantly gave them debit card info for the balance of the runner, and the installers installed the upstairs floor carpet.  They measured for the runner.    I was told they would be back to install the runner  in 10 days.
    Approx 10 days pass, and I call to see what the status is, and they tell me they haven't received the carpet yet.  Was this the carpet they said they'd already ordered and I couldn't cancel on?  No one could answer that.  Finally, I get an install date for Nov 4th - 20 WORKING DAYS (I'm not even including Saturdays) after it was measured.  Leading up to this, I get several phone calls reminding me of the date and then I have to call and confirm the date, which I did..  And guess what happens the evening of Nov 3rd?  They call and tell me they are cancelling the install and can't do it again until Monday, November 10th, now well over a month since the runner was measured.  
    I hope to get the runner, which I paid $1200 for, installed soon.

    Karen and her partner are professional, quick, courteous, and kind. They do a wide variety of work and clearly love old houses (which is good -- I love mine, even when it is falling down around my ears). I originally contacted them over the window fix, which was a little too complex for me, and they were quick, professional, offered me options, and even emailed me great pictures of the work in progress in their studio. I asked them whether they knew a good carpet installer and they volunteered to do the work themselves. They always cleaned up after the work and were interested in what I wanted done (such as preserving as much of the fabric of my damaged porch door as possible. They even painted it for me and it looks marvelous).
    A day or so after the porch roof repair the guttering fell down during a heavy rain and water started to pour into the living room. I went out on the roof (after having been told not to by Karen -- but it's hard to obey when water is bucketing into the house) and attempted to fix the guttering on a ladder in the middle of the night in the pouring rain (I had to do this once before after the upper roof was fixed -- in that instance, the roofers had deliberately disconnected the gutter and quot;because it wasn't doing anything.and quot; Well. Obviously, the gutter DOES do something, yes?). I put a foot through the roof and had to scamper back, the ladder still in place and the gutter unfixed.
    Karen and co came over promptly the next morning, fixed the gutter, fixed the roof, and didn't even charge me for it (although I don't think they detached it on purpose like my previous roofers). Now, THAT'S service. That's also just plain being nice. They didn't even scold me for being out on my fragile roof.
    If it were possible to give them an A+ I would. Fabulous work, reasonable prices, and just really really nice people.
