Wayne is easily the best home inspector around. Scheduling and communication was smooth and he was courteous and thorough throughout the process, and pointed out the important things I should know about maintenance of the home. An extremely detailed report with helpful maintenance recommendations were provided within a few hours. Will certainly hire again!

I called Tom when our upstairs toilet overflowed & leaked through the ceiling & a light fixture. Tom responded promptly, gave me tips for what to do in the interim, and came out on a Sunday for an initial estimate. I was very ready to hear that we’d need to rip out the ceiling, and I really appreciated Tom’s honesty in telling me he didn’t think we’d need to cut away the ceiling. He could easily have gotten himself a bigger job, but had the integrity to tell us we didn’t need to take the pricier route. I would 100% recommend Tom, and though I hope we don’t have reason to need these services again; if we do I will definitely call Northeast Water Remediation. I can’t speak to the quality of work, other than his initial assessment (which was efficient & thorough), but his integrity speaks highly of his work ethic, and I’d trust him to do any work we needed done. Also his quote for a bit of patching & re-painting down the line was very reasonable.

We hired Northeast for a very big and expensive job. Their quote was 10% higher than another one and yet we hired them anyway because they put on a good show. That ended as soon as the project started. They were behind schedule almost from day 1. Despite the fact that they reassured us they would work over time and weekends to finish on time (we had tenants moving in), they did not get a proper permit for weekend work, claiming that they didn't know they needed it and were ordered to stop by the city. As a result, they were 1 week behind schedule on a 2 week job. Even more concerning, they lied to us repeatedly about their progress although the on-site carpenters told us otherwise. One of their head people also convinced us to allow them to take a dangerous and foolhardy shortcut that cost us roughly $4,000 extra in electrical work as well as $3,000 in extra painting since the electrician had to cut extra holes in the walls. When we presented them with the bill, they didn't even offer us a token bit of compensation although we paid them almost $60,000. Frankly, an apology would have been worth more. They also did not insulate our windows or notify us in time to meaningfully address the issue when the original window framing we meant to retain was in worse condition than they expected once the storm windows were removed. They offered to do a patch up job at first but ultimately refused to fix them at all even though you could see straight through to the inside of the house from a couple gaps between the window and frame and other window frames were unsightly and uneven. What is truly sad is their carpenters and on-site crew were good and honest people and did some high quality work and we could have been very satisfied customers if they communicated better but the top of the organization is young and inexperienced and cares little for customer satisfaction. And beware if they touch your electrical system at all since they know nothing about it and aren't licensed anyway.

After I showed Peter what I was hoping to do, he indicated that they had an opening in their schedule and could they start tomorrow. I said sure! I wanted the whole apartment painted, ceilings, closets, walls, and trim. Some rooms had been painted when they did the deleading, in those areas I just wanted things touched up. They had the apartment painted within three days. I had taken all the light switches off before they started, and to my surprise they had gone out and bought all new ones and put them all on! The paint job was perfect and the apartment looked fantastic. Peter has a great team of hard working talented honest people. It is so easy dealing with them, I feel lucky I discovered them for my deleading work, and glad they were available to do the repainting.

Excellent communication quote thru cleanup. Joe and team provided a high level quote over the phone based on the square footage information. The final quote after the site visit was on the upper end of the original range provided, but expectations were clearly set. The crews arrived on the appointed date and completed the work within the range of days provided. Permits and inspection reports were provided in a timely fashion.

Tom was fantastic to work with. He talked directly with the contractor to work out the best time to get in to do the inspection. He was always so prompt when I called or emailed, and he turned around the results within a day. He had a very fair price and was certainly worth it for the service.

John was so fast with communication, and was very flexible with time. He came out and did a thorough walk through our home explaining exactly what he would do in each room. He was very friendly and didn't talk down to us. His quote came in right about what other contractors gave us, so we felt it was a very fair price. Did not end up using him because another contractor had more availability to start sooner and we had a tight timeline, but other than that I definitely would have hired him.

Steve made very quick arrangements to see us after we called. He ran a few minutes late due to traffic, but he called to let us know that he was hitting traffic. He was very prompt and professional and he also discovered that our water heater was about to fail (for which we were very grateful). Overall, great job

It is great to see the team work hard, and then clean up the work site. There was a question about the strapping being removed from our horse hair ceilings. Even though it was more work, he recommended removing it also, and keeping it clean. That was very good advice, and we are happy he was sincere about this advice.

Sam was professional when there performing a mold test and seemed knowledgable, but said that included in the cost of the test would be a return visit after the mild was cleaned up to certify that the mold was gone. After many many phone calls to schedule the return visit, he either did not return the call, or the call was "dropped" when I finally got through with no call back or immediate voicemail when I tried calling him back. It seemed as though he was doing everything he could to avoid returning to finish the job. I am very disappointed.
