    I have been a patient at Boston Medical Associates for several years and Dr. Joann Suna is my primary care physician. When I visit for an illness or concern, she listens attentively, conducts an examination, orders appropriate lab tests or diagnostic procedures, and follows up by sending mail or telephoning with results. The administrative and medical staff members are pleasant, courteous, and helpful. I would be a happy customer if that was the extent of it, but one concern I have is the lead to schedule an appointment for an annual exam. Last time I called, it was nearly a nine month wait to book an appointment for an annual exam.. The time before that, it was a six month wait. While inconvenient, I could live with this. A bigger dissatisfier is the telephone system at the front desk. I never reach a live person when I call. After going through a lengthy call director, all selections go to a voicemail where I must leave a message to have somebody call back. This is inconvenient for me because I usually wait until I can clear my schedule so that I can be on the phone for a few minutes without interruption, only to have to leave a message and expect a call back (at a time when I may not be able to answer). My adult daughter -- also Dr. Suna's patient -- has recently decided that the problem with reaching a live person on the phone is sufficiently bad that she will need to leave the practice and find another primary care doctor. She is a school teacher and must use her short lunch break to place a call to the doctor's office. Leaving a message in a voicemail box and waiting for a callback is frustrating because she is unable to answer personal phone calls while she is teaching.

    I would not recommend Dr. McMahon and in fact I am trying to find a new doctor. I think he should retire considering the way he treats is patients. He doesn't care anymore; he has that and lsquo;don't-care' attitude. He doesn't listen. He is very quick and acts as if he wants to get away from me. If I need to have a test done when I have issues, he will just do one test and then stop, he doesn't keep going to find out what it is. He just blows me off and makes me feel like I don't know what I am talking about. I am not the only one who feels that way, my family goes to him and none of them like him. We all are waiting to get a new doctor. When I first started going to him, he was fine but in the last one-year or so it seems like he wants to retire, that he is tired and doesn't care anymore. I love his nurses though.

    With routine checkup she was thorough, caring, and listened as well as advised. I never once felt rushed as have so often at other Drs. She answered all questions and concerns. Her PA was the best. Personable and caring and excellent at drawing blood - first stick, no bruising! When I called another time for possible injury I received a call back within 1 hour with an immediate referral - I avoided a co-pay just to be told I had to see someone else!

    Dr. Potter is very pleasant. I don't know much about her yet, as I am a new patient. However, she is very friendly and is very thorough. I will continue to go to her for my care in the future.
