    JACQUES BUILDERS
We encountered lots of challenges with problems with our house, with the insurance company, and with outdated code issues, but Norman always came through. Norman worked with us every step of the way, including guiding us in dealing with the insurance company. Once we had dealt with all the unexpected things, we were able to use Norman to make some elective changes, putting on an addition, and renovating the kitchen. We now wake up every morning to a beautiful, safe, and comfortable home. Norman demonstrated numerous strengths through our process. He understands local codes, architectural and structural principles, has an excellent sense of aesthetics, has high standards, works hard, and takes personal pride in his work. If something goes wrong, he fixes it. If he doesnt know something, he does the research to find out solutions. He listened and understood when decisions required more thought or more information. When outdated code requirements about insulation posed a dilemma, he worked with us to find a solution that made sense, and still met the code requirements. He provided sane stability when we were coping with the emotional panic of discovering all that was wrong with our house that wed no idea about when we bought it, despite having had all the evaluations. He respected our privacy, maintained appropriate boundaries, but connected with us in a significant way. He helped us maintain a sense of humor. Norman had told us when we first hired him, that in his experience, contracting clients ended up being like family, and he was right. Someone working on your home when you are living in it requires a degree of closeness and boundaries. We have come to rely on him, and we feel connected to him and his family. We are indebted to him, and hope he continues to perform his craft in this area, because we know we will continue to have more projects, as time goes on.

Not only did they effectively clear the roofs, both flat and sloped, but handled snow removal on the ground as well. It was clear that safety was paramount in all that they did. We are confident that NexGen Construction is reliable and can be counted upon to get the job done and done correctly.

The project was completed ahead of schedule and actually the entire project would have come in under budget if my wife and I hadn't kept adding new items to the proposal. Not only were we happy with the work being performed off of the original scope of work Rene did not take issue as we added extras along the way. We have never experienced a more professional company to have work for us. They began every day at the scheduled time and worked well until the end of each day. They even asked if it was OK for them to work on Saturdays along the way. They paid attention to detail and kept the job site (including our portion of the roadway) clean every single day. We have at least three additional projects for NextGen Construction Service to complete for us, as we could not have been more pleased and satisfied with the work that was performed on our home.

They were the ones that spotted the damaged on the roof from a hail storm we had the year before. They drove by and they stopped and said, ?we were just looking at your roof, can we take a closer look?? I said, ?go ahead!? They looked at it and said I have hail damage and the insurance will pay for it. They said they would talk to the insurance company and explain what they found and they would give me the papers from the insurance and then I could decide if I wanted them to do it or not. They just took care of the whole thing. I wouldn?t have even had known about if they hadn?t stopped by.

It was about 12,000 and there was a $500 deductible that I carry on my insurance that I had to pay out of my pocket. They did a great job. They picked up all the trash, cleaned up the lawn and took everything away. There was one little roof they didn?t do because it wasn?t as damaged as the others, and it wasn?t necessary to replace it according to the insurance company. They told me that. I said, ?have you got someone to do that job!? He said, ?what do you mean?? I said, ?I would offer him a couple hundred to do that small roof that is about 5 feet square!? I paid them $200 to do that and it was all done and the whole roof was replaced that way. That was the roof over the porch. There were 4 people doing the roof. They did it in a day. They went right to work, torn out the old shingles. A couple places the roof underneath was rotted, they put in 2 sheets of plywood underneath and replaced the roof.

The winter weather threw a few curves but Dave and crew were great. The new front steps are solid, the railings are sturdy and they dealt with the shenanigans of a hundred-plus year old house. The gutters also got the attention they'd been denied the last few years. I shudder to think at how much stuff was stuck up there.

Mitch did a phenomenal job. He is so personable- he makes things easy to understand for the new homeowner, his prices are reasonable, and the got the work done quickly. He is kind and extremely trustworthy. My favorite anecdote was that he made a heart out of a broken shingle for my sister to take with her, as she was moving to a new state the day he worked on our roof- it was incredibly touching.

    Vista Home Improvement
I am by nature a patient person and not one given to complaining. Things don't always go perfectly and I accept that. However, I must recount my negative experience with the providing company.
I took advantage of a $99 gutter cleaning/roof inspection on the first of December, A phone call from Vista followed in short order and the work was scheduled for 10 days forward...Or I was led to believe it was. At the scheduler's requirement I made sure that I was home on that date. However, instead of the expectedworkers, a single salesperson had come to, as he explained it, "measure the gutters and see what other work might be needed" As I have replaced all the windows and I have a slate roof, there wasn't anything I needed, but since he was there I inquired about adding a short length of downspout to a gutter. He told me that work would be $125-150 and it could be done when "they came to service the gutters".
This was followed by a call from Vista to arrange the actual cleaning with a mid- January date of service and an explanation for the delay due to an unexpectedly strong response to the Angie's List special.. On the scheduled date, 1/19/2016 the Vista office called to say that due to the windy conditions and snow in gutters they would not come that day. The wind explanation seemed valid ; my gutters, however, were entirely bare of any snow. I was also told that the company was now scheduling gutter service dates in March. When I asked for something earlier I was informed that if the weather allowed for gutter work they would come do my job now.. I was also advised that a service manager would call me about the downspout.
What followed were two extraordinary weeks of January to February weather. No snow, mostly dry days, temperatures sometimes reaching above fifty degrees - the kind of days when this gutter service could have easily been done. It wasn't. Moreover, despite another call from me, I never heard from the manager.
So, the job remains undone. Perhaps Vista will come in March or perhaps I will have to find someone else. I don't know. What I do know is that two months ago I paid the charge that posted to my credit card account on December 2nd. I can't be satisfied with that.

Mr. Werner was great about accommodating my schedule, arrived at exactly the time agreed to, and did a fabulous job. IHe also went above and beyond by making additional recommendations based on his observations regarding my roof and gutters.

I have been a builder, myself, for decades and these projects went as well as I have ever experienced.
Steve is pleasant, honest, knowledgeable, and very skilled at his craft.   His carpentry is great.  His
supervision of his workers is top notch.  I have no problem at all giving him this positive review.

Signed the contract in April, door finally installed in October.  Wrong color door was shipped from company in Ohio, and I can accept that, but the lack of communication that followed from June to October and how often I had to contact Vista to get an update on where the project stood was unacceptable. I felt I was bugging them and finally had to speak to the owner to get anyone to answer any of my questions. Even the day the door install was finally booked, the storm door was unavailable as it got loaded on someone else's truck and was miles away from our house on that given day.  The actual contractors that installed the door were professional and did good work - the communication from anyone above them was horrible.
I had to contact Provia to ask for directions on how to use the storm door and the latch on the handle on the door sticks, so I have finally taken to spraying WD-40 on a brand new door latch.   This after waiting more than a week for Vista to reply to my request for further information on both.  To date - I have not had a response from Vista.
I have notes on how often I have contacted this company and how long it has taken to get a response.  Today I got a form letter survey including a offer for a $25 gas card for a review on Angies List, the BBB or liking them on Facebook. I kind of doubt I'll be getting that.
I hate giving bad reviews, but I chose this company due to reviews on Angie's List and could not have been more disappointed and feel people need to hear my experience. The only reason I did not give them a "F" is because I liked the people who actually did the work and the Provia door looks to be a beautiful door.  I have shared all of this with the owner of the company in a written letter directly to him.  All it would have taken was for someone at this company to flag our job order when the first error occurred and to follow it through and make sure communication to the customer was timely and accurate. This so easily could have been a good review.  It's a shame.
