House Painting reviews in Holyoke

    Traditional Painting Co
We were never their priority.  We were given a date, then told "next week" and then the week after that, and then the week after that, and then they had "a big house with some gold leaf that took longer than they anticipated" and they'd be over before the end of the week.  Thursday they arrived.  It was a whole flurry of people, and the house was nearly done in a day and the second day they worked until dark (which comes earlier in October).
They borrowed a cord from us.  It was a blue, high quality 50ft cold weather cord we use for our snowblower.  It was no problem, and wouldn't have thought anything of it until it was gone after they left.  There were also missed spots, which considering they worked into the night, I also didn't think anything of.  We called about both, heard back from him and he said he would check with the team and come by to take a look.
He came by the next day, and sent someone to do what we had discussed.  At that point I was satisfied.  It was a bit more trouble than I had expected, but overall it was a lower price.
...until Spring.  Less than 4 months and the "high durability" paint had stripped off the steps, the deck, and the bulkhead.  Nothing other than snow on the bulkhead, and shovel on the steps and deck.  It looked like they had only done a single coat.  Additionally there were spots of the gutters where tape remained, as well as inconsistent covering of the gutters themselves.  Some where painted and some were not, drain pipe painted, but S from pipe to gutter was not, end of gutter was not.  Road facing side of the steps and railing were not painted.  It looked like a rush job.
We called Brian early spring, told him about the wear -- he came to look at it and seemed to think it would be covered under the paint brand guarantee, I didn't really care what he called it as long as he took care of it.  It looks horrible, like it was let go for years and it was only the winter that had passed!
We agreed to wait a little more so we waited until May.  We have called him roughly every week since.  He has said he would come by multiple times -- have not seen him since, have not heard from him.  We had been polite and patient.  Finally we left him a polite email expressing our dissatisfaction and we received a reply text a month ago that they were "catching up with the weather" and he'd be over as soon as he could.  We have continued to leave him messages and have yet to see him.
I was waiting on the review this whole time, really hoping he would get it right but he has not and it has only aggravated the situation, leaving us with a very sour taste.  We were never a priority with them.  I assume it was the Angie's List deal that initially set us as second class citizens and not that he treats all his customers this way.
All in all we are not happy, have expressed our displeasure to Brian (owner) and have been met with acknowledgement yet dismissed.

    Unique Painting
House is 3 stories high, Sam started at bottom and worked up, all the scrapings above would fall
onto lower part just done?   Did not clean up anything, scrapings were left on roofs and all along house.
When asked when they would be cleaned up got the "by the end of the day answer" but was never done,
he and he slobs would just disappear.  Kept making more work and asking for more money and never
finishing or cleaning up.  Started bothering wife for more money (annoying little man) she paid him and
next morning he took his ladders and left.   Looking closer at the work they did do found areas that were
not scraped but painted over anyway.  No caulk was used, and to make it worse the paint is starting to
bubble and lift away from the house after just 8 weeks.  Not to mention overspray everywhere
Don't listen to the paint is $50-60 a gallon they were such slobs they left receipts blowing around the yard
that I picked up on my daily pick routine when they left and it showed him paying 34.49 a gallon.
    Don't listen to:
My daughter in hospital in Worcester
    My car was stolen
My truck broke down needs timing chain
    I was in hospital
    Lost my keys
    Lost my wallet
    Lost my phone
Car broke down needs timing belt
When he left I piled all his trash on the front lawn and put up a big sign, working down the street now
(smelled fresh money) that got his attention and finally took his trash and stole the sign.  The man will
tell you he's an expert at everything, he doesn't even own a level or a square, DO NOT left him do any
repairs.   I don't think he even knows how to paint
Then  it was like the second part of the scam when his workers would stop by at diff times to offer
their services, I'm sure Sam sent them, figured I was so easy that he could do it again.  If you do
use this guy hold back at least $3000.  until final inspection.  I don't think he can finish a job.

    Abracadabra Painting
We chose 3 specific colors and created a detailed diagram.  The crew carried the plan out very well, verifying details and making very helpful suggestions.  The rather extensive work was finished in a timely manner, with the yard and work areas left neat and clean every day.  The crew was punctual, polite and friendly - a delight to work with.  The proprietor, Mr. Kennedy, proved to be highly dependable in all ways.  Our house looks beautiful and we will be contacting Abracadabra for future work.

    Vista Home Improvement
Brian who came out from Vista Home Improvement Company was really nice. He really knew what he was talking about. It seems like they will be able to help us in all the different areas that we are looking for. We are looking to get window replacement and a designer railing put up in the second floor with a wrap around in the top. We also want exterior painting and some interior work done in a second house that we own. I’m waiting for two more bids before I make my decision on hiring Vista Home Improvement Company. They don’t have anyone to the railing that we wanted put up but Brian was willing to find someone to help us with that. He was willing to go the extra mile and that I thought was great. I would consider using them in the future.

    Precision Painting
Bill and his crew did a fantastic job. This was a very time-consuming project with four different paint colors and lots of detailed trim work. The work was done promptly and efficiently. When I called Bill about a section of porch that wasn't quite completed, he responded quickly and finished the job.
