    Hingham Animal Clinic
Terrible. Dr. Sachs misdiagnosed the bone disease, she just cleaned the wounds twice a week, but she never treated the source of the infection. After spending hundreds of dollars with her cleaning the wound, it temporarily went away, but then came back with a vengeance since the underlying condition was not treated. By the time I realized she misdiagnosed and didn't treat it properly, it was too late - the foot was damaged beyond repair. My rabbit died 6 months later of bone disease.

I found them through personal recommendations. I interviewed a lot of friends and did a visit with the dogs before we decided to use them. We went in the door and the dogs were pulling me in. They have dog recommendations. We went to another place, and the dogs wouldn't go in. We see Dr. Liz. I have been going there for 2 years. The staff is wonderful, we love it. They are very helpful and very friendly. We wait for 5 to 10 minutes.

VCA Plymouth Animal Hospital and Pet Resort
We tried using VCA Plymouth for years due to the convenient location and range of services they offer. Unfortunately, our experiences ranged from a serious misdiagnosis almost resulting in the death of our dog to a rude receptionist to their promotion a flea/tick preventative (Simple Guard) which we later found out is made exclusively for VCA and has severe side effects. We will not take our animals there again.

This review is specifically about Dr. David Tubman, who is one of the many vets on staff here. Our two cats first started seeing Dr. Tubman about four years ago, when he worked at Cambridge Veterinary Care. He was so wonderful that we followed him when he moved to VCA Brookline, even though it wasn't nearly as convenient to where we lived in Porter Square.
Our cats were both older with multiple medical issues, so we have interacted with Dr. Tubman a lot over the years. He performed major procedures on our cats such as surgery to remove bladder stones and extraction of 16 teeth! One cat had chronic kidney disease, so he was very involved in managing and monitoring this condition as it progressed.
Dr. Tubman is extremely sympathetic, passionate about what he does, and very careful about diagnoses and about not putting pets through unnecessary procedures. He is also extraordinarily generous with his time. When one of our cats had repeated episodes of constipation, he stayed after his shift was over and even came into the clinic on his day off to monitor her. And when it finally came time for us to euthanize our cat with kidney disease, he traveled all the way to our new home in Hingham so Ernie wouldn't have to have his life end in the hospital.
Ernie was also an extremely difficult cat -- he went absolutely ballistic at the vet every time, even when he was 18 years old. Many vets would have shied away from a cat like this, but Dr. Tubman and the staff at VCA Brookline (especially the head tech, Michelle Matthews) really rose to the challenge and even seemed to appreciate Ernie's "feistiness." They were careful to do everything possible to avoid sedating him, especially as he got older and sicker, and Dr. Tubman was very willing to try to diagnose and treat Ernie without bringing him into the clinic unless it was absolutely necessary.
In short, Dr. Tubman has been marvelous to us and our cats. I honestly feel like we owe him a huge debt of gratitude for helping us with Ernie in particular. I can't recommend him highly enough!

    ABINGTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL
One phone call to their office will show you their customer service.
    Or lack thereof.
It took me 6 tries to get someone to answer the phone - they don't have an answering machine.
I got an appointment and they saw me 45 minutes late. Not a giant deal - I understand offices get busy. The vet was knowledgeable and kind.
However, the meds they gave my rabbit were in a pill bottle (the meds were liquid) and had hastily-typed "give one full syringe twice daily until gone" directions.
My rabbit is still sick after completing the meds, and we went to a new vet....who is currently struggling to get a hold of someone at Abington to find out what they put her on.
Bottom line: they a new receptionist and their problems might be solved.

    OLD DERBY ANIMAL HOSPITAL
They were excellent. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly and gentle with my bunny. They did all the legwork of contacting my old vets about prior treatments and medical history before I even arrived for my appointment. They are very organized and thorough in their approach to caring for animals. I've found my new vet!

    Hingham Animal Clinic
We found him and the staff very friendly and helpful with our very active enlish springer spaniel. We've gotten good practical advice. We brought him each time for shots. We've had good talks about lyme disease and the treatments for heartworm and fleas. We've never had a puppy before. We continue to use them.

    OLD DERBY ANIMAL HOSPITAL
We were very pleased with Old Derby boarding facility. It was clean and neat and the staff was very caring and professional. Our little dog was separated from the larger dogs which can make her nervous. The staff sent us emails a few times during the week to let us know how the dog was doing which is a nice feature. The only drawback is that the cost for "play groups" and/or walks are an additional charge for each item, each day. This can increase the daily charge quite a bit. Other than that, our dog came back clean, happy, exhausted and had no problems.

    OLD DERBY ANIMAL HOSPITAL
I adopted them through a place that works with this company, so that is why I went here. I have a different veterinarian and I would not use them again only because I am used to mine and the prices here are more expensive. They were good with the kittens though. They were very gentle and professional.

    Hingham Animal Clinic
I have been going here for thirty years. They are as reasonable as you are going to get. They are very thorough and very good about telling me what is wrong with my animals. They always give me affordable options when it comes to the after care of them as well.
