    Supreme Home Improvement
We hired Supreme Home Improvements to remodel a small kitchen, and it went well. Paul was very responsive to my questions. We ran into some electrical issues that held up the project, but Paul was able to work around them and get the project completed in a timely fashion.

    The Granite Guys
Kyra and her team are absolutely phenomenal! I needed my kitchen to be done relatively quickly because we were hosting Thanksgiving. Kyra not only made sure everything ran on time, but her team actually installed the countertops almost a week early for us! She sticks to her word and is such a kind person - I will recommend her to all my friends & family. In addition, I shopped around for quotes and Kyra beat everyone by over $500! We couldn't be happier with the finished product!

I took a leap of faith when I bought the big deal with Onyx Granite and Marble from Angie's list as it was a big ticket item. I am so glad that I did that!
Everyone in the company was so great to work with, they are all super nice and professional. The lady who works in the office was very patient to explain the different options and tried to find ways to help me save money. The crew arrived on time, did the work professionally and the final result was amazing! We had a small issue with the cut, but they came back and fixed everything promptly. The price is very reasonable and you can go to their site to choose remnants for discounted price.
My neighbor saw my new kitchen and was very impressed. She wanted to get the deal as well. I highly recommend using Onyx Marble for your home remodeling.

    Kirby Construction
These tasks were done over the course of three different follow up jobs. The first job Kirby completed for us was the back stairs/small deck. We trusted them with the design & were very happy with it. As unforeseen issues arose, they were very communicative and open with respect to options and any price changes that would result. Final decisions regarding cost-inducing changes were always ours.  The finished product is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Tim was a pleasure to work with - timely, kind, respectful. Excellent craftsman.
Second task was the shutter/door work. As is typical, constant communication was required. There were a few hiccups with communications on both sides - on our side due to my husband and I both being involved which caused some issue with conflicting messages and a few on the Kirby side. Critical is that the issues were handled with professionalism, ownership was taken on both sides and an equitable solution was reached.  I especially appreciated the knowledge of the historic district requirements as I'm not from New England and wasn't familiar with the fact that the louvers should face up! Again, it's the extra knowledge and the above and beyond ownership of the projects and commitment to satisfaction of the client that set Kirby apart on this job.  All employees again were professional, kind & always prompt to complete the job.
Third was the sink replacement which was done while we were out of town. A few judgement calls were made as they were intent on having the sink done by the time we returned as was our original goal.  Minor issue with the finish work which they graciously acknowledged and came out immediately to adjust to our satisfaction. Bob was great - the plumbing to the exterior finish work of the sink all looks great and a huge improvement over the previous.

**Update 11/2014:  Employees of Kirby for the most part get an A. It's unfortunate that the service element of thiscompany has completely disappeared and is completely failing in every way.  Follow up is in single, short sentences in response to thoughtful detailed requests for follow-up on jobs.  Subsequent jobs beyond the initial we worked with them were less & less satisfactory.  Owner became less and less responsive. Professionalism and integrity totally lacking and will not use this company again nor would I recommend.

Shutters originally provided in this estimate were ordered wrong size (by us).  Not certain how their team didn't notice the sizes being wrong before they painted however, we'll take ownership since we ordered. As not a trained carpenter myself, I would have loved someone to have walked me through the process.   Despite this, Ken offered to repaint the new and hang at no charge indicating that he'd placed only an initial coat of paint on the shutters and would hang them temporarily until the new were ordered and supplied. He would then paint at no added cost. How nice we thought. Unfortunately, the shutters weren't placed securely on the house and in the following year two blew off in storms. Further, as we weren't able to sell the initial lot of shutters, and since we are now intent on parting ways with this provider, we decided to leave the shutters as is and to have him place the final coat of paint on the existing set & to permanently affix them. To our shock, he claimed they were fully painted - completely changing his story.  I would have been shocked to hear this previously, however, after reading other reviews am now thinking it's not just us. Sorry to have had what was once such a positive interaction turn so sour and never would I have expected this - but I feel this is the intent of Angie's List - to give others insight into what it's like to do business with this provider.

Kitchen Tune Up Southeast Mass & Rhode Island
Outstanding job.  I am thrilled with the final result.
In June I met with Mike at his showroom in Norton to discuss a long-planned update of my 1985 condo kitchen.  The entire project consisted of installing recessed lighting, replacing the counter tops and refacing the cabinets.  I used Mike's company, Kitchen Tune-ups for the refacing portion of this project and also used Boston Fabrication, a company he works with, for installing the new counter tops.
The variety of cabinet facings that Mike offered was extensive.  After our first-time discussions, I made my selections.  I went to Boston Fabrication and selected the Cambria quartz for the counter top.  These were installed in late July.
The scheduling of Mike's work was on August 20-21, and he and Jesse arrived as scheduled and on time.
They removed the old doors and began the preparation work for installing the new ones.  Their work was meticulous.  They cleaned and de-greased the framing of the old cabinets, installed the laminate surface trim on the frames and then began the installation of the new cabinet doors.  Their work was exceptional.  They measured and trimmed everything.  The hinges and cabinet pulls all work beautifully.  Their clean up after the project was done was excellent.  My condo requires contractors to remove any construction debris and they hauled away the old doors.
As an example of their outstanding work, I have never been able to open the drawer next to the stove, due to the stove handle protruding into the pathway of the drawer.  Jesse cut a small piece off the new drawer front and made it permanent to the frame and thus created enough clearance so that I can open this drawer and have fully use of it.
I would recommend this firm to anyone considering this type of project.

    The Carpenter's Son
Joe instilled confidence from the day we met him. He and his team were professional, courteous and punctual. The prices charged were always reasonable and even low given the quality of the workmanship. I would recommend Joe to anyone lucky enough to get him.

Bryan McHugh, the contractor who helped us with some big pieces of our bathroom renovation and whom we had contracted to do some pieces of our kitchen renovation (raising ceilings, removing old two-layer tiles) recommended Don and Innovation Kitchens. Don got in touch with us immediately, came over to our house to take measurements, discussed our needs, and then designed a proposed plan for the new kitchen with their cabinets and countertops. I went down to their store to select the cabinets (they use about 8 different styles and you're restricted to those- but we loved the options and this apparently helps them keep costs way down). I also chose the granite in the store. Don was wonderful to deal with- incredibly responsive, very nice, helpful with great ideas, good with last-minute changes. Once we made all of the selections, Don came back out for final measurements, then their team came in within two weeks and installed the entire kitchen in a 2-day period! This included their granite people coming over on the first day once the base cabinets were in so that they could do final measurements for the granite. They installed the granite on day 2 and finished up all of the cabinets. We were astonished at the speed and good quality of the cabinets for such a great price and I was thrilled with our selection. We needed to remodel the kitchen quickly in order to put our house on the market due to a corporate relocation. Innovation really understood the urgency and worked with us to meet our deadlines. The house sold in less than a week- definitely not what we expected in this market! Nearly every person who viewed the home specifically commented on how beautiful the kitchen was.
