    Norman Builders
My husband and I had an extremely favorable experience with Ryan Norman of Norman Builders. From our first meeting to the final inspection, Ryan made the whole process extremely stress free. Ryan really listened and understood what we were looking for. He was always sensitive to our budget. His bid was extremely thorough, all of the costs were explained well and the overall budget was very reasonable. His estimated start date was only off by one week and the overall estimated time for the completion of the project was spot-on. All of the Subs were great; came when they were supposed to, very professional, worked seamlessly with all of the other subs on the project like a well-oiled machine. Ryan stayed in communication with us through the entire process. Ryan was extremely attentive to our project from start to finish. The workmanship of each phase was extremely well done. By far the highest accolade that we have for Ryan is that he never came to us with a problem; instead he always came to us with a solution. If anything unexpected was discovered on the job, Ryan knew exactly how to resolve the situation and presented us with viable options for a solution. Our home addition project consisted of a single-floor addition of a wraparound porch, screened-in porch, mud room, bath, and a great room with full basement foundation. The entire project took 6 months from the first day of excavation to the final walk-through inspection.

    Rhema Inc
It went very well. The owner of the company, Bernard, did not come to see the area until the snow melted. He wanted to see what the existing surface looked like. I was unsure which way was the best to go to get what I wanted. I needed space for another car and I wanted a situation where any of the 3 cars could get in and out of the driveway. The existing driveway was a single lane space that could accommodate 3 cars in a single row with great difficult and two cars would be blocked from exiting. The existing driveway was made of 2 different styles of pavers. I was unsure which material would be best, although I had performed research on the durability of cement vs asphalt vs pavers. Bernard listened to my expectations and came back a second time with quotes for different materials. He discussed which trees I would allow him to remove to configure the space to allow another exit from the driveway. It was obvious he put some thought into the plan; he designed a space that gave us a couple parking options, made it so that an of the3 cars could exit the driveway and provided another egress. He explained the options regarding materials and advised that asphalt would look good and work well. The roots of a large tree made the surface curve upwards and asphalt was the best option. Bernard and his crew could not have been more professional and respectful. Bernard request a down payment of just $100.00 to start the job and I did not receive an invoice until maybe 3 days after the job was completed. He sent the invoice and then showed up at my door to make sure the job was completed to my satisfaction. I had paid the invoice online upon receipt and I let him know I was very pleased. My neighbors had witnessed how quickly the job had been accomplished and hired him to do a job for them.

    Lapans Waterproofing & Home Maintenance
Owner John LaPan came out to evaluate and estimate the work on our wet basement. He recommended drilling out a trough on three sides of the basement, installing French drains, then covering them with stone and gravel before repaving, plus adding double sump pumps at the lowest point of the basement. John came out personally with his crew for three consecutive days, broke out the basement, carried it all away bucket by bucket, installed the French drains and double sump pumps and a new grated basin in front of the entrance door, repaved the basement and hardly left a speck of dust behind. He was thorough, meticulous, professional, very easy to talk to and happy to explain whatever we wanted to know.

Mike Ratte and his team did an excellent and professional job on our home! Some of the siding had rotted wood. We planned on replacing just one side, but it looked so great that we decided to do all the siding. Mike's team did such an excellent job that we hired them to add a shed to the back of our garage and replace the pool house roof. We hope to hire them again for future projects!

    J. MARTINOLI & SONS BUILDING & REMODELING
I am not sure where to begin. My husband and I have been dreaming about this project for a long time and called numerous contractors for estimates. Out of 7 scheduled estimates, 3 showed up. Jay Martinoli was one of these 3. His price was fair and he was extremely patient with us while we changed our plan numerous times to fit our budget. I run a home daycare so I was particularly concerned about safety throughout this project as well as the professionalism of the workers who would be here while the children were present. Jay was so helpful and understanding in making sure I had temporary fencing as well as a porta potty for the workers as not to disrupt daycare. I was also impressed at what nice guys he employs. Not only were they hard workers but they always showed up on time and greeted the children every morning with a smile. They became excellent role models for the children who are now super interested in construction. The quality of work was more than we could have asked for. I have never seen anyone work so hard in the heat and never once complain. Jay Martinoli was great about always letting us know what the next step in the project would be as well as always checking in to make sure that everything was going ok and that we were happy. I can truly say that all the members of the Martinoli team went above and beyond. Today is our first day without them and its just not the same. The daycare children keep asking me when they are coming back. Good thing we loved them so much we scheduled another project for October.

    Triple T Concrete
Our  concrete main entrance walkway and front side walk were heavily damaged by the frequent salting during last winter (2015).
There were large gaps and the concrete was literally crumbling and leaving places where tripping or an ankle turn could easily happen.  We called a half dozen concrete companies last spring (2015) and received only one call back with an estimate of over $4000.00, and the remark that it was such a small job they might not be able to get to it for a while. We disregarded that bid.
While walking in my neighborhood one morning, I saw the truck for Triple A Concrete in a driveway and observed two gentlemen replacing brick work and blue stone pavers/steps on a neighbors' front walk and entrance. I asked if they did concrete work also and after a brief discussion, they agreed to come by our house after that job and check out our situation.
The owner of the company Ted Imonti does all of the work himself with his business partner Darren and another gentleman whose name I do not recall. Ted and Darren came over, as promised, that afternoon and gave us an estimate. To their credit, the job was not as big as we had thought because we assumed that all of the concrete in a large area would need to be replaced (both the good and broken sections), but they assured us that they could cut out the broken parts and match the good sections. We explained our desire to get this work done ASAP and they said they could start the next day with the demolition and pour the new sidewalk the following day. Later that day, Ted texted me to let me know that the concrete had been ordered and to ascertain whether or not we had both outdoor water faucets and electrical outlets, which we did.
True to their word, Ted and Darren were here the following morning and demolished the broken sidewalk, hauled away the debris and set the forms for the new concrete. Initially, the weather for the concrete day was supposed to be warm-ish and dry, but on Monday there was a change to the forecast that included the possibility of afternoon showers. We were concerned that this change would require a delay. Ted and his two man crew arrived at 6:30 AM to get started and to get the work that had to be done finished before the rain.  They staked and cordoned off the area once finished and the result was beautiful!!

    Tabaldi Masonry

I was scheduled to have the work completed three times. The last was on a Sunday, the beginning of December.  I waited 3 hours, and no one showed up. I called and left a message on the owners voice mail and never received the courtesy of a call back. First principle of good customer service, return your calls.  Don't take on work you can not complete, or hold my money. If I wanted this done in the spring, I would have looked and hired someone in the spring. Also, my money is being held for work that is not going to be completed for months, or in my case of value since my plan is to replace the walkway.  This was explained to the provider.

He blames the weather, I am not looking at a huge project, this is a 2 hour repair.  I had an aggregate driveway poured in a cold wet November December last year, it is perfect!!!

Also, I purchased services for three items, the other two went off without a hitch.  Both showed up on the set date and time, and gave me excellent service.  This makes this that much worst!!!  One was a custom service where the provider came out and performed measurements.  Since I have a caretaker at my dad's I was not even aware they came.  it went off that well. I had mentioned they were coming and she forgot to tell me. They came on time, and performed the measurements and ordered the product. The other was a service performed in my driveway, again, they came to my home at the appointed time and performed the service.  I needed some other work completed, they completed the job, and left the area as they found it clean and orderly.  Perhaps I could have these providers call Steve Tabaldi and teach him some customer service skills, when scheduling appointment, you need to show up.  His questions to me were, will this take longer than two hours, I really saw this a 30 minute job for a professional for me 45.  Yes, I will go to home depot and purchase the bag of needed supplies tomorrow and complete the work myself.   This is not rocket science.  just a bag of cement!!!! that needs to be spread over the walk to get my dad through the winter.

    EJ Paving
I found EJ Paving here on Angieslist and contacted them to ask for a quote for a new driveway.  Steve returned my inquiry and made arrangements to come out to my house for a quote.  He was on time and seemed very professional.  He also answered all of my questions after I received the quote and I accepted it on 8/15/2015.  This is where the disconnect began:
    - On 8/26, I sent an email to Steve asking if he had received the signed quote.  He responded stating that he did and that it would take a week or two to get a schedule together.
    - 9/17: Digsafe came out to mark the driveway.  I contacted Steve via email and asked if that was at his company's request and also to get an update on the schedule. His response was " Yes, we 'digsafed' the driveway. I have a schedule meeting tomorrow and will get back to you with a date."
    - 10/1: No contact since 9/17. I contacted Steve via email and asked for an update.  He responded with "it will be next week or the week after".
Today, on 11/18 I have not been contacted by Steve or anyone else at EJ Paving since 10/1.
I find it odd that a company would do business this way.  What has annoyed me the most is that 3 months have passed and now it is too late to find another paving contractor to do the driveway this year.
So, my overall review of EJ Paving is an 'F'.
