    Byam Construction
Excellent. Roger is a consummate professional. His knows his craft thoroughly, and offered sound advice on the projects we needed done. His work is of the highest quality, as is his work ethic - he's prompt, dependable, and above all, honest about what we need and what we don't need. His fees are highly competitive, and are a tremendous value for the quality of his craftsmanship. Roger is a pleasure to deal with. I've had several bad experiences with contractors on the Cape, and now I have the peace of mind knowing I've found the very best.

WILLIAM R COFFIN & SONS INC
This is a follow up post to one I made years ago. This company is A+ in service, communication and professionalism. And their prices, although theyve risen almost each year, are reasonable and lower than the competition. I continue to happily use them and highly recommend.

    Recon Roofing & Gutter Service
I had used this company before so i called about a serious leak that was damaging my kitchen ceiling. That was over a month ago and I still havent gotten a call back. I managed to get another roofer who responded and solved the problem.

    CRANBERRY JEWELERS
I made the mistake of bringing my watch to Cranberry Jewelers on April. 8. Carl Johnson, the owner, looked at it and said it would be a simple battery replacement that he could do while I waited. After 45 minutes, he then said there was some post that wasn't lining up correctly, and he'd need a few more days. After taking my information, Carl said I'd hear from him by Wednesday. Week 1: No promised call was received, so on Saturday April 16 I tried calling the shop, but after no answer after attempts spanning hours, I assumed they were closed for Easter weekend. Week 2: Called again the following Tuesday, and Carl's excuse was that he'd been really busy, but would get the job done within the next few days. Again, he promised to call as soon as the watch was ready - probably no need to mention that the call was never received. Week 3: Stopped by the shop on April 28. Sign in the window said "out to the bank and errands - back by 1:30". Waited until 1:45 and gave up. Week 4: Today, May 6 I went in and said I wanted my watch back without any further delay. Carl searched for about 15 minutes and then "remembered" that it wasn't back from the watch-maker yet. I called him a liar and reminded him of our prior conversations. Miraculously he then found it. Carl's next story was that he couldn't get the correct battery from the manufacturer. Again, I called him a liar and said he'd claimed to change the battery already on April 8 while I was there. Next, he tried to blame me - said I'd told him it was a Seiko when it was actually a Citizen's watch - he couldn't respond when I questioned why he, as a supposedly qualified jeweler, didn't notice that mistake right away. In his most exaggerated voice, he said "well, I'm so sorry". The word "liar" was again used. So now on May 6, I finally have my broken watch back in my possession - I'm hoping that Carl didn't cause any other damage - but I have no confidence that this will be true. Customers beware! My experience with Carl Johnson and Cranberry Jewelers is that he's incompetent, underhanded and of course, a liar. Be especially careful if you're a tourist and expect to bring your jewelry home with you after made the mistake of leaving it with Cranberry Jewelers

    MAGNUM MOVING & STORAGE
Before you commit to using Magnum Moving Co. consider our experience! The team that moved us out and in to our new home 6 months later were the same team of professional and experience movers. Our goods spent 6 months in Magnum Moving Co. warehouse. Over the past year we have been dealing with the management of Magnum Moving Co. They have made us SERIOUSLY REGRET ever getting involved with the company! The saga began three months into storage with an email claiming that they had made a bookkeeping error and the storage box count was 13 not 12. Since it was their error they graciously decided not to backbill us for the four months of storing that uncounted box. The extra $50 per month was not a big deal, but the concern for control of my goods became a thought. Shortly after the move in to our new home, we began to notice that we had some personal items missing. Over time, we have noticed that a large number of items are missing. These items were from various places in our previous home and dealt with multiple seasonal items. The yoga mat, the kitchen spices, the Santa Claus suit, the ski clothes, fireplace equipment, and hand tools from the workbench are now clearly recognized as missing. By my estimate, some 8 to 10 boxes were lost! That amounts to a small storage container that was unaccounted for. The response from management has been. We will look into that! We will check every "empty" storage box in the warehouse as soon as our busy season is over, and finally after a year of this avoidance process, "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods!" After multiple requests to personally meet with someone who could resolve the issue, I met with the office manager on their premises. After a frustrating 30 minutes of paper shuffling and questions, her response was: "I will review this with the owner." So much for talking to someone who was willing or capable to resolve a problem. To add some perspective, the total cost of the move out, the storage and the move in exceeded $13,000. Their "final offer" to settle our claim was $600.00 as a resolution of $2500 to $3500 of identified personal property missing. Their defense for the amount was again "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods! They won by wearing me down to the point that I am glad to be done with them! My only option is to claim against my homeowner's property insurance and take the hit against my clean personal insurance claim record for their negligence. That is a very hard pill to swallow! My conclusion and warning is that I would never recommend Magnum Movers in spite of the professional team of movers. The controls in the warehouse and ANY dealing with the management team was so unsettling that I cannot understand how they have remained in business for so long! The management version of client service is "We are a regulated industry and are liable for 60 cents a pound for all lost or damaged goods! And once your check has cleared.. we will wear you down! As a postscript, I had to "electronically sign" the claim waiver. Obviously they have had enough claims that they have automated the process! Getting better controls of their warehouse handling would be a better use of an effective management! Obviously, that is not what they are interested in!

    Drone House Digital Media
Drone House Digital Media was the second company we contacted after not being pleased with the results of our first attempt. Wish we had called Brad first. He responded to our email inquiry promptly - there was a bit of wait time as he was booked, but he fit us in as soon as possible. He came out exactly when he said he would, and spent time talking to us about what we wanted in the video. He then spent about 90 minutes capturing footage with a drone. He told us we would have a draft to view within 7 - 10 days, and a week later it was ready. We were very pleased with the product and needed no changes - he had listened to us and captured exactly what we were looking for. We'd highly recommend this service.

    RoofPro
The first job ( roof repair and, sky light replacement went fine. We then hired them to replace our 2nd skylight. That's been since early April and we have yet to have anyone show up for the 2nd repair. We had sent in a deposit for this 2nd repair. We called twice and thy simply state that they are very busy and will get to our job. They should not take on jobs if they aren't able to man their workloads.

    GIGI'S SHOE REPAIR & ORTHO
My wife has a foot problem that causes uneven wear on her right shoe. We took a sandal to the to get a small support piece cut and glued in place. They said it would cost $18 and would take a week. We thought that was quite a high price and a long time but we let it go. We made a special trip to the store (more than 10 miles) to get the sandal a week later. Not only was it not done, it appeared to be in the same place on the counter where it had been when we left it. The man said he could do it in fifteen minutes, so we waited in the car. When I went on to get it, I expressed disjointed over it not being done on time and he immediately started to give me very negative attitude. I told him he would not get any more of our business and he said "I need your business like I need a hole in the head."It was an extremely negative experience and I would not recommend this business to anyone.

    BelCape Construction, LLC
Dennis was extremely responsive to our questions with exquisite attention to detail and service. His proposal provided detailed
descriptions of work and materials that other proposals omitted. He came to the site to inspect the
work of his crew and pointed out other issues that required our attention. Work was done very well and on-time.
    We highly recommend BelCape.
