Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our old bathroom had seen better days. Locating Chris was something that made this whole bathroom renovation project a breeze. I echo everything that a previous reviewer (in November) stated. There were zero issues working with Chris and his team. Chris also has excellent taste with colour and lighting. The bathroom has a very relaxed and calming 'feel' about it now, thanks primarily, to Chris' colour combinations. He took the bathroom right back to the studs, leveled the floor, before rebuilding it. The team always took care of our home, cleaned up at the end of every working day, and Chris & I went over any outstanding issues and decisions to be made (if any) at the end of every working day. I will most definitely be using Chris for future home updates.

We made an appointment for a sink install, our sink delivery was delayed so we called GP's front desk a day before to say "We have to reschedule for next week". Their crew shows up the next day anyway and are annoyed "Nobody told us". We call their desk back "Please tell your crew, come next week like we instructed you, call my wife's cell phone when you are arriving at 8am." Next week comes, 8:30am and no crew .. so my wife leaves for 20 min to drop off my son at school. They show up, call MY phone and leave a message "Since no one is home, we're going to charge you an extra hour for not being home" and they leave. I call back, explain that their dispatcher screwed up again by not calling my wife as instructed. They finally show up and scratch / gouge the new sink upon install, and now two days later we find a slow and steady leak from the new pipes ... I call and am told "Oh, we'll see if we can have someone out in a few days". No apology, no "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience", just attitude and silence. As of today, still no call back, no response to multiple emails.

Nicholson Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning Inc
It went fabulously.  They came promptly after we called to quote the job, with the formal email following a few days later.  Mike Nicholson guided us to the right system for our home and usage with a confidence and knowledge that immediately put us at ease.  Not a sales pitch, just simple honest facts from his experience.  They scheduled the job quickly around our need to acquire a Mass Save Heat Loan, and had all the latest info about the process, not being put off about it at all.  The job went flawlessly and they provided all the rebate paperwork right with the final invoice.  These guys know customer service as well as plumbing.  The job site was clean and the guys personable.  We really like this company for their plumbing expertise, promptness and friendliness.  It's all so important and makes you feel good.  They are definitely our plumbers now!

Our first call was answered quickly. They came, looked, confirmed that the heater was on its way out and replaced with the new one within a couple days. The workers were fast, efficient and cleaned up any debris. They even installed an extra Carbon Monoxide detector in our utility room as a bonus - Thanks for that! We were very pleased with their work and would use them again.

Meacham Heating Cooling & Energy Solutions
At first, it went very well.  Please pay no attention to the numerical reviews at this point. There is an ongoing issue which has yet to be resolved. I will change the review later based on the outcome.   If you live in a condo please read this.  It may save you a lot of grief.
We live in a small condo complex in Grafton, Ma.  Earlier this year Meacham installed a full  central air system for the president of our Condo association and she was quite pleased.   We were interested in air conditioning system, so we made an appointment in early September, 2013.
The sales agent, Brian was very professional and explained that they have two systems:  the more expensive Lenox system, which our neighbor purchased, and a less expensive Mitsubishi system.  The more expensive version  is full-blown central air conditioning, and that would cost upwards of $12000.  The second was the Mitsubishi system which we chose.  The Mitsubishi system has several features which we liked, and it was less expensive.
A week or so later we agreed on an installation time of Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22. The installation was supposed to take two days. They finished in the first day.  Unfortunately we did not pay any attention to what they had to do on the outside of the unit for the installation.  Our understanding was that they would explain this part of the installation to us before proceeding. Unfortunately that didn't happen, and we did not anticipate that there would be an issue.  We all dropped a very important ball here.
A day after the installation, we received a nasty email from the President of the association - the same woman who had recommended Meacham to us.  On her system the piping was very unobtrusive and barely noticeable. On ours there is a brown pipe running up the side of the building to where the upstairs unit. Apparently this was unacceptable to the association.
After several emails we were ordered to have the entire system removed, at our cost.
Brian from Meacham agreed to speak to the President of the association.
Finally the president of Meacham got involved.  After much back and forth and several meetings with the trustees, we got it resolved.  Meacham rerouted the piping so that is is inconspicuous now.  Ultimately it ended well, and Mark and Sue Meacham were a pleasure to work with.  I suspect they learned a lot from this experience.    I would have given them all  'A ratings if not for the snafu with the condo association - which was partly our fault.

Chris demo'd the existing tile around the bath tub, installed cement board, installed new plumbing fixtures and installed new tile throughout the demo'd area.? . This house was built in the 20's so you can just imagine. Chris showed up on time and according to my tenant, he kept the work area very clean and he and his assistant were meticulous.? The bathroom looks GREAT.? I would (oh wait...I will) use Central Mass Handyman again.

    B Lyons Plumbing & Heating
My father was a "jack of all trades" and a professional carpenter.  I can clearly remember him on the phone with clients.  Just letting them know where he was with a job and when he would be likely arrive at their site - even when he did get hung up facing a situation he did not expect.  He was truthful, courteous, professional, and respectful of people and their time.  So was Barry.
My husband and I had been on the phone with multiple plumbers - including our "own," regular  plumber who promised to "call back soon."  (This message came by way of text since his voicemail and email box was FULL.)  Four days later, we found Barry on Angie's List, read the reviews and called him.   He came the same day, late in the afternoon after he had completed another job - and he kept us informed along the way.
He came to fix a pinhole leak in the basement.  He did a great job on that and more.  He secured pipes to a beam, added a faucet to drain the water, explained what he had done and why, and gave us some information about our system that we did not know.
All this for less that our "regular" plumber would have charged us.  (We know this because a year ago after much pleading and begging, he had completed a similar job for us.  He is a nice guy, but not reliable.  When you have a sump pump running in your basement for four days, you need someone who knows what they are doing to show up!)
We know the unexpected happens in this kind of work.  We understand.  We also know that it is important to keep your client in the loop!  So now we have a new plumber!
Thank you, Barry.  And thank you, Angie!
