    Mass Services
The guys, especially Nathan, at Mass Services did an excellent job and did it fast. They also made recommendations of what to do to make the house more appealing and it worked out well. They were also available for smaller tasks that were not planned and needed at odd times. I would hire them again.

    TruGreen Lawn Care - 5690
Terribly. They destroyed my lawn last year fall. This spring I reseeded. Without any notice, they showed up and put weed killer down on on my germinating sprouts, killing everything. Who puts weed killer on new lawn????? And this is professional? They don't answer the phone - you now have to call a 1-800 number and that person knows not thing about your account, the service day these"professionals" will show up and no one calls back. And, they insist on being paid for a service that destroys your home. STAY AWAY!!!!

    Skyhook Tree & Sons
I spoke with Jason on Monday afternoon and we agreed that he would come by on Wednesday evening to give an estimate. I waited until 8:45PM and did not hear from him. I called and left a message asking what happened. He called/texted the following morning and we agreed that he would come out this evening to give the estimate. He asked that I text him when I got home, which I did at 5:06PM. At 7:49PM he texted me stating his job ran late and could he come out tomorrow afternoon. Complete lack of professionalism and customer service! My time is just as valuable as his. He could have texted or called me at 5:07 and let me know he could not come out but chose to leave me waiting.

    Skyhook Tree & Sons
Removed two large maples and two smaller trees as well as chipping wood pile and stump grinding. Got two trucks stuck in backyard tearing up and putting tire tracks all over my front and back yard. Had to spend hundreds of dollars and many hours filling with top dressing and seeds to repair. Stump that was ground not done completely and was told $50 to come back for touch ups.

    Central Mass Landscapes
After my initial meeting with Central Mass Landscapes I was very excited to hire them to work on our property. Andrew was on time, professional, and listened attentively as I described what needed to be done. I received the quote quickly and they scheduled a date with us within a week. Unfortunately, we did not feel that Andrew's professionalism and expertise showed in the final product. Upon arriving home, the mulching was completed and new plants were in, but we were surprised that many of our plants had been torn out in addition to weeds, leaving large bare spots in our gardens. In addition, dead blossoms and leaves had not been removed and several plants looked trampled/torn up. As there was no invoice or other confirmation the work was completed, we assumed the crew would be back the next day. Upon arriving home again, we were shocked to see everything in the same state. In addition, large amounts of several vines that had been pruned showed an abundance of dead/dying material. I called Chris (owner) immediately and sent an email with photos documenting my concerns. He stated he could not speak to the job as it was handled by Andrew, who called me the next day. He promised to send a crew back out to clean up the vines, clean up trampled plants and dead head the plants (which he claimed was not technically included in the service but as our contract specifically stated it included the removal of all dead plant material, he promised to honor the letter of our agreement). He also stated plants were removed because they "weren't in a great state" - however we are now down a geranium, an astilbe, some fireworks flowers, a mint plant, and many others. He thought full removal would be best as we are trying to sell our home. As of today, though, those were still our plants and I would have appreciated a call before his team proceeded. While I will admit several were past their prime, some had not even flowered yet. The crew was sent over a second time yesterday with no advance notice - we actually didn't know they had been at our home until after they had already been and gone and I received an email from Andrew asking how the job went. I'm sorry to say that their attempts to correct issues were very poor indeed. Dead material was removed from our vines and left all over the ground. The vines are now in very poor shape. Some dead material was removed from plants, but most were not dead headed as promised and torn up leaves and trampled plants still remain. For almost $1,400 I expected I would not have to lift a finger to clean up my gardens. I am now left with a substantial amount of work to clean up our gardens to put our house on the market plus the unexpected cost of filling the bare spots. In addition, many of our plants are gone or a mere shadow of what they once were. When I hired professionals, my expectation was that our gardens would be in even better shape than if my husband and I tackled the job as they would know best how to treat the various plant life around our home. I not only do not feel that way, I also feel as though I substantially overpaid for sub-par work which, from communication, was not overseen by either Andrew or Chris.

Madrona Brothers Inc Landscape & Construction
Our front steps, walkway and stone walls were charming 30 years ago when we moved into our Colonial Gambrel.  Now after decades of New England weather and multiple attempts to repair, we finally started looking for professional help.  The walkway, walls and stairs were not only an eye sore, they were dangerous.  We wanted to re-establish the colonial charm we have lost and make our front entrance way safe.
We got quotes from several contractors and talked with them.  We chose Madrona Bros. because they were careful to provide a variety of options, listened carefully to our needs.   We also liked the family "feel" and the pride they took in the work they were doing for us.
Each day the crew arrived and got to work.  There were frequent "check-ins" to make certain that everything was the way we wanted it.    At the end of each work day, the work area was cleaned up and any parts that would have been considered unsafe for the moment were roped off .
The resulting stonework is lovely and perfectly complements our colonial setting.  We have had nothing but compliments from our neighbors, and for the first time in many years, we are looking forward to the trick or treaters coming to our door!

The crew was very professional and hard working, constantly checking to assure proper slope of the pavers away from the house.  They left the work area very neat each day, and totally restored and re-seeded any lawn area that was disturbed. The weather delayed the start, being very rainy, and then they had some very hot days to work, but completed the job in the promised time frame.

They were a local company. We have dealt with them in the past, and we had no problems with their work. Their service was reasonably priced, and it was acceptable. The quality of their work was excellent. The people there were very good and helpful. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

    Go Organic
Our school received a Green Schools award for outstanding environmental education in 2012.  Part of our program is to ensure that we use green products including fertilization for our playing fields.  I found John (the owner) through the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA).  They provided soil testing and analysis of our playing fields and then implemented an organic fertilization maintenance program that fit our needs.  Our ground and playing fields are in great (healthy) condition, thanks to Go Organic.

    Klansek & Son's Landscape Services
They are quick, efficient, thorough, reasonably priced, and very nice. They were great. Whatever day they came, it was a day earlier because of the rain. They crammed everyone in on a longer day, so everyone would be taken care of. t
