Interior Design reviews in Gloucester

Matt Silva, his dad Manuel, and cousin were super. They arrived daily at the time they specified to us and same for leaving. They cleaned up everyday, always asked our opinion for things to be done, and assisted us with the quartz counter top process. Everyone was professional from start to finish and they even came back to finish one thing after the quartz top was put on. Our kitchen looks amazing and everyone who has seen it has given us compliments. We highly recommend this group. We researched ahead who to use and checked reviews and we could not be happier with the outcome.

He came to my house on 9/27/17, looked at the job and gave me quotes (he wrote them down). He made two separate trips to the local building center for supplies, brought in some supplies (3 bags of plaster, some insulation and some drywall, Very strong smelling insulation which I immediately asked him about. I have since been advised that it is commercial insulation and not for use in homes). He and another guy he had with him put in some insulation and put up a few pieces of drywall. Before he left for his 2nd trip to the building center, he told me he was going to buy green board which would be needed behind tile, he told me the drywall/plastering piece was going to cost 1500.00 which included supplies and he needed $1000.00 now. I foolishly wrote him a check for $1000.00. Francis then proceeded to tell me he was going out of town the next day but his friend Christopher would be completing the rest of the drywall and plastering job and would call me. Francis also said he would be back in town in two weeks and would check up on the work etc. After a few days, I called Christopher at the number Francis had left me. He came the following Saturday, looked at the situation and told me he would finish the drywall/plastering project and also he would do some additional projects I needed. At that point I was more than concerned about Francis leaving but Christopher reassured there was no problem and he would complete the project. He asked if I had given any money to Francis and I advised him of the $1000.00 check which was cashed immediately after being written. Christopher told me on Saturday not to worry as he would complete the work at the prices quoted by Francis. To my surprise and frankly shock, I received an email for Christopher Sunday morning stating he could not do the job, Francis has misrepresented the work, apologizing for my predicament and advising he had no association with Francis business or otherwise. Now on to Francis. I emailed and called him w/o response. It was only after I left him a msg that I planned to pursue things as needed that he called. I asked when he would be back in town and he said sometime after Thanksgiving. I requested my money back. He said no. I advised him I would not wait until after Thanksgiving to proceed with my project and Francis said he would check his schedule and call me. I did not hear from him. I sent him another email advising I would be pursuing this matter. He responded with a totally fabricated story about out initial encounter. This whole situation begs the question why did this man respond to a job when he clearly knew he was going out of town and would not be available to do the job? If I look at this in retrospect, I can only come to the conclusion that he needed money ASAP and he came here with the intention of getting money for a job he had no intention of doing. So my review is titled ":BEWARE", I am out $1000.00 and faced with a legal battle to drag this person into court to try to get my money back. I hope people read this so they are not "ripped off" by a totally unethical person. Ialso hope Angie's lst will try to help me.

Jesse and his crew were always very professional and pleasant. Everyone seemed to take a lot of pride in their work and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with whatever they did. I am very pleased with the end results. They are a bit expensive with a 20% markup on all materials. They are very upfront about this so as a customer, this should not come up as a surprise. They took care to keep my house clean when they entered, during the work, and when leaving. They paid attention to a lot of little details, which I very much appreciated - too many to write here. I have had some bad or just so-so experiences with contractors before. They have restored my faith! For customer service, attention to quality, and teamwork, I give them an A+.

The painters arrived promptly, and went about their work quietly and professionally. They completed all of the work efficiently and did an overall excellent job. They were also neat and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. They paid attention to details such as patching small cracks. We would definitely hire them again!

I am in a process of installing new windows and getting the siding done. Everyone I had talked to from this company have been extremely informative, professional, friendly and pleasure to work with. My profession is in a design field, so detail and precision are very important. They patiently listened and accommodated to my wishes. I feel very well taken care of by the people who work for this company. I was looking for the quality and durability of work and product, and Coastal is giving me exactly that and more. That said, I will follow up with another review once the work is done. It is an added benefit to use a local business which workers are familiar with the characteristics of this region's architectural history and impact of its climate. I feel blessed to have them on my side. ... And now the work is done, here's the result! This past two days have been life changing for me with three new windows and spectacular views that were hidden behind the walls. Mark, Keith and the crew were working non-stop for two long days to get the work done. They were very good at communicating everything they were going to do and doing, worked efficiently with precision. The ladder going up 30 ft+ to the attic was carefully and safely placed and had someone looking out for falling debris so no one got hurt. They also cleaned up spotlessly before they left. I am very happy with my windows. Working with Coastal was a real fun experience. As a single woman, I worry about getting taken advantage of with high prices and low quality work, but talking to Christian from Coastal made me feel secure because he went through every detail and process and had answers for all the little questions I had. Also having the guarantee from a well-established company gave me an additional comfort. Thank you everyone at Coastal. I will enjoy my new windows for the rest of my life.

Work was performed on schedule and at the price quoted.  The workers from Winter Hill were professional, polite, clean, and very skilled.  They went beyond our expectations, even repairing items that were not on the original work order and for no cost.  They showed up as promised on the project start date, and were prompt for every day of work.

We would highly recommend their service, and in fact, we have already hired them to do further painting to the interior of our home so it will look as nice as the previously repaired and painted spaces.

They made a complete mess. The floors were left with paint. There was no clean up, period. Leather furniture had paint on them. They moved furniture, valuable oil paintings around carelessly. They seemed to be in a huge rush and they weren't taking care of anything. It was literally a disaster! Even the painting job itself was terrible! They didn't finish using primer, they didn't use the right color. It was awful. Even when we tried to contact them, they were relatively unresponsive. They wouldn't really respond to our requests to come back and fix their mess in our home. At this point, I don't even want them to come back and fix everything because of the terrible job they did the first time.

Alfred was great. He was punctual, polite and friendly. The job took about four days because he had to put in new sheetrock because the old wall had holes, etc. He had to make the wall do a difficult turn because of some pipe work that had been behind one of the cabinets and I was a bit concerned about it but he did a wonderful job. I was in and out of the house during the time that Alfred was working and felt perfectly comfortable leaving him alone to do his work. Alfred is very concerned about doing a good job and wants you to be happy with his work. The wall looks great!

A crew of about 5 showed up early followed by Julio the company owner. They got right to work laying tarps, setting up ladders, and starting the labor intensive prep process, scraping and washing. As part of the process damaged clapboards were replaced.
The primer was sprayed on the wide open areas, and by brush around windows and doors. I checked for overspray and found none. They were very precise. The Aura paint and trim was applied by brush. It's a quick drying paint so the two coats went on quickly. The job was completed in three and half days which is average for my house. The house is an early-to-mid 1800's two story house, approximately 1600 s.f.
Both during the daily process at least once a day Julio and I would do a walk around to verify all was as expected, and to avoid any surprises. At the end of the job we completed a full walk around. The job was completed on time, on budget, and meets all expectations.
