My husband and I just bought a new home and we hired Stanhope Home Improvement to install a door in one of the rooms and some minor repairs through all , they've done an outstanding job, We are really happy and definitely recommend them.

He upgraded my 30 year old home. All of this was done at a fair and reasonable price. Rosembergg was excellent. They were professional, very thorough, cleaned up well. I would highly recommend this company!

The roof is still waiting for a promised repair. None of the work was completed to the contract terms and specifications. Home Energy Inc. increased the price from the originally quoted price then started invoicing for work that was not completed. When questioned about invoicing he started invoicing for other items not in the revised pricing and deleted from change order. When asked to justify invoicing he refused to complete work and make repairs to defective roof installation. For a contractor that claims to have 30 years of experience and on National Grid's approved list,  I found his behavior extremely unprofessional. Seems like a classic low bid bait and switch.

I think it went very well. I have an old house which was originally built as a summer cottage so lots of challenges there.
Tom and his crew did most of the work and then brought in subcontractors to assist. I found everyone to be professional and pretty timely. Some occasional delays to coordinate various workers but I think that is what can be expected when working with mx people, coordinating everyone's schedule and then the timing and progress of the various stages.
I am overall very pleased with the work and am hoping to have Tom do some additional work for me in the future.
Here's what he did: removed and reinstalled my kitchen cabinets, removed old appliances and installed new ones, tore out old flooring (tiles) and laid new subfloor and new hardwood floors, built new wall, drywall and finishing, painting, fixed ceiling, new backsplash, plumbing and electrical.
In a 2nd job built a new closet in my home office, fixed the ceiling(sister ceiling joists), framed closet walls, blueboard and plaster, installed new sliding closet doors and painted ceiling and walls. Turned out very nice.

The end result of the project is a very satisfied client, without a doubt.  The project started right after Thanksgiving, and took approximately 8 months to complete by the end of July.   The project was sequenced as follows:
    1)  The kitchen and studio were completely gutted right down to the studs, with all cabinetry, appliances and flooring removed.
    2)  The roof over the garage was demolished, so that the buildout over the garage could begin.
    3)  The framing of the new bedroom over the garage was a major part of this project.
    4)  The insulation, plastering and painting of the studio was also a major portion of the work.
    5)  The installation of new cabinetry, appliances, lighting and new flooring took place in the kitchen.  The Cabico cabinets along with the granite countertops look fabulous.  KitchenAid appliances include the refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stovetop range.
    6)  New electrical service breaker was installed outside new bathroom, to accommodate new wiring outlets in kitchen, master bedroom/bath, studio and garage.
    7)  All of the new rooms were painted, as well as some of the original rooms in the house such as the living room and 2 of the upstairs bedrooms.  The painter, Paul Mondello, delivered very excellent results for us.
    8)  A loft was built above the studio to include 2 "day beds" for house guests.  The lighting below the loft provides a casual gathering spot for watching TV or reading.
    9)  The garage includes a traditional exterior facade with an automatic door opener, and the adjoining basement remains connected to the dining room via stairwell, with a "master light" that automatically turns on all of the basement lights.
    10)  A central AC configuration cools the kitchen, master bedroom and studio.

Geoffrey Richon (owner) and his team do first class work.  I also used them on a major studs-out renovation and addition at a former home in Lanesville, and then at a Condo renovation more recently.  The results on both projects were beautiful and I couldn't have been happier with the company and the results.
Geoffrey listens, provides ideas, is flexible and fair.  His office staff, carpenters, plumbers, electricians are all intelligent and professional and do excellent work.  I cannot say enough good things about this company!  This is not just a contractor, Geoff and his team have become friends.
Oh, and they stand behind their work to an extreme.  When I had trouble with some trim that was rotting on my Lanesville property (4 years later,) he contacted the manufacturer, found out it was a defective batch, and fixed it at no charge -- that's the kind of person he is.

The big addition in my house was great. Their price did not exceed the estimate which was also great. Also they're reliable on what they said they were going to do as they did. They showed up on time and the approximate range did not exceed. They were very upfront about everything. They were recommended to me by a friend who used to live in Medford so it was word of mouth and then I recommended them to another couple here in Gloucester and they did a really nice addition for them. They deemed or consider quite a bit of work for them. Overall, everything was excellent. I will hire them again if I need their services again and the people in Gloucester whom I recommended them to have hired them for a couple of jobs.

Matthew Khoury/ Templar Construction exceeded our expectations when fixing our barn this past spring.  The barn proved to be a "Pandora's Box", posing a myriad of issues and interdependencies that couldn't have been anticipated during the quoting process but Matt still managed to get all the work quoted PLUS A LOT MORE (including replacing the entire roof!!!)  for the quoted price, in the time frame he said it would be done! Although more work than anticipated was necessary, no shortcuts were made and both the Engineer and building inspector we pleased.I’m not sure what this did to his profit but we are truly satisfied.  His business card says “Satisfaction Guaranteed” and that is exactly how he conducts business.  He and his crew couldn't have been more professional or productive.    At no point in the process did we feel concerned.  We found Templar construction on the internet.  Templar's quote was about the same as the others, and we chose Templar based on the attention to detail, professionalism, experience, access to talent and resources and general demeanor.  Matt made many trips out to our property to patiently explain and re-explain the work that was needed, why, and to explain the process of the permitting, the Engineers, inspections, and all the options available to us.  Communicating with Matt has been very easy.  He is extremely responsive to phone and email 24-7.   Matt and his crew took care of EVERY detail including moving our things out out of the barn, the permitting, the clean up etc.  He even gave us the tip to discuss with our neighbors the hours his crew would work so as to not disturb anyone.  This proved to be outstanding advice. Friends, family and neighbors have all made very positive comments about the work done.  One friend experienced in construction commented that "you sure got your money's worth".  Matt/Templar construction is a true gem in the business and I would highly recommend them.  We will definitely use Matt/Templar construction for our future projects.

They were horrible.  They charged me a ridiculous amount.  The quality of the work, the follow up and the communication were all poor.  We first talked to one person and then to another and then with the third person; it was three brothers and it was ridiculous.  This is our second winter our heater still does not work right and air conditioning is not working right.  Even the tiles and the roof are not done as well as we would want them.  The trim on house has nails showing every 12 inches around the entire house.  I have never seen such a shabby work.  They said that we won’t even notice those nail heads.  I tell other people not to use them.

Pat rescued me from another landscaper who oversold his ability and from two exorbitant estimates from others. I owe my backyard to him. He also recommended Araujo Construction. I wish I could have gotten him back this year. He lives in a neighborhood of homes he built, I think that speaks for itself.
