  • Tom, you and the guys were a pleasure to work with on our granite steps and patio project. Our first contact was an almost immediate return of my call even though you were on vacation. And by the end of your initial visit my wife and I agreed that you were the one. As the design evolved and arrived with a meticulously detailed proposal, our initial instincts were confirmed and we immediately accepted the proposal. The project itself took a week start to finish, and it was fascinating to watch Tom and the guys do there thing. I made the comment more than once, "You've done this before!" so obvious was their mastery of the craft. The end result looks amazing and we're looking forward to using our new outdoor space. We've already signed up for a second project with Tom to replace our front walkway the same pavers used for the patio and know that we'll be in good hands once again.

  • The lawnmower had not been tuned in 4 years and needed a thorough tuneup and cleaning. My adult son inadvertently knocked the air filter off while doing underbrush as well as getting dirt in the gasoline tank. The snowblower was a routine tuneup and adjustment. He spent at least two hours at my house with his mobile service. His charges were very reasonable considering a number of adjustments and cleanups beyond the routine tuneup. Most importantly if I had a large company pick up both machines the charges alone for pickup and delivery would have almost been the price I paid alone. Additionally my son would have been without his lawnmower for at least a week or two and this would have resulted in uncuttable high grass because of the unusual rain and heat this week.

  • We had a complex job completed on an antique home. Justin was incredibly responsive and patient throughout the process and did an outstanding job. The completed patio, staircases and walkways are a beautiful additon to our home, blending in perfectly with the existing masonry and surroundings. Justin was careful and meticulous in his work, working with us at every stage to be sure that the job was completed to our specifications. He was willing to adapt the job as it developed to be sure that we were happy with project. He dilligently kept us updated on his work and schedule as the job went on, always showing up when expected and assuring we knew what to expect. He did his best to keep the area clear and clean throughout the project, so that we were inconvenienced as little as possible throughout the job. We cannot recommend Justin highly enough. We will use him again for any future projects. We are thrilled with the final results.

Tom is meticulous with his design plans and construction, creating detailed plans that worked perfectly to fit our existing space. The design and layout came out beautiful and I hope to work with Tom again in the future when additional landscaping needs arise.

  • The lawn mowing was fine for the year they did it. We thought it was ok until we hired another service the following year that was better and reasonably priced. The real issue is when we hired them to do our spring clean up. First, we felt they did it quite late in the season compared to when we hired them to do it. Before they started the Spring clean up, my husband went over with them in person what we wanted, walking them around the property. The first day of spring clean up was ok. The second day they spent a lot of time in the front yard that we thought they had been almost done with the day before. In the process they hacked up our approx. 30 foot arborvitae on the side of our front yard and cut back our front bushes to the point that they actually cut our holiday lights that were hanging in the middle of the bushes. My husband had asked them not to edge our flower beds when they arrived to do the work, but they did and in the process exposed some sprinkler heads (this was not later fixed by Driven). These are some examples of some things they did poorly, although there was some things, like some weeding, that was done well. When we let them know what issue we had they sent out a supervisor to review what had happened in person (we walked the property) and he agreed the bushes we pointed out had not been done well and the arborvitae were inappropriately cut. I also walked him around the property showing him the remainder of what had to be done for the spring clean up. We had an issue in that they didn't finish our spring clean up, had spent almost a day in doing this damage, etc. They also put down a color of mulch we had not discussed with them (we had had them quote previously a different color, asking them to mulch this year, and we assumed they would put down the color discussed, but they didn't). They offered to take some money off the fee that we would have to pay, finish the spring clean up with their best crew and fertilize the arborvitae, saying they would grow back in a few years. These were about 30 foot mature abor. If you've ever cut into the old wood of arborvitae, it doesn't really grow back. We let them know that since we were now looking at our neighbor's driveway that wouldn't really work for us. we agreed they would plant plants to block out the driveway and we would pay for it. They sent out a crew for a day which made significant progress toward finishing the spring clean up, but did not actually finish it. We sought suggestions from them as to what plants would be appropriate and the only thing we really got from them was planting more arborvitae in front of the arborvitae. We said this would look strange and not work for us. They sent out the supervisor again to give us some recommendations for what to plant and the only thing he really suggested was again planting more arborvitae in front of the arborvitae. It's frustrating when you trust a landscaping company to be professional, prepared and knowledgeable about plants and then have them inappropriately cut your plants and not be able to share knowledge of what plants would coordinate with the landscape to fill in the gaps they created. The supervisor left saying that he would do some research into what plants might work and get back to us with suggestions. We never received any thereafter. We waited several weeks for the suggestions to come and for them to finish the spring clean up (they had left some flower beds partially unweeded, some branches we discussed them cutting down and saplings still uncut, some bushes untrimmed, etc.). June rolled into July. My husband paid them for the work they had done and we heard nothing. I contacted them and said they should have received payment and asked for the suggestions for plantings we had been awaiting and when they were going to finish the clean up. The response was that we should choose what to plant and they would plant it. It became clear we weren't going to get any suggestions from them other than to plant more arborvitae in front of our arborvitae. I suggested fruit trees. The response was to ask me how many I wanted. I told them it would depend on the type of fruit tree and that they were the landscaping professional so I would need them to advise me on how far apart they should be spaced, etc. Never received any suggestions. We were then told that we should go buy anything we wanted and transport it to our property and once it was on our property they would come by at some point to plant it. This was not what we thought we agreed to, as we understood we would provide the funds for the plants and they would take the initiative. We obviously don't have the landscaping vehicles to transport the number or size of plants we were talking about. They also did not mention ever finishing our Spring clean up, despite several mentions on our part. We felt like fools for paying them before they completed it and before they did what they promised regarding new plantings. We were understandably frustrated and told them several times that we were very frustrated and weren't sure what kind of game they were playing. And although they were polite along the way, we felt like they were either inexperienced or stone walling us or just didn't care when they wouldn't provide any suggestions for how to landscape the open spaces left by the over aggressive cutting of the arborvitae branches. We met with them twice in person after they cut them and were told we would receive suggestions, but didn't receive anything useful. The ball was thrown back in our court again and again to tell them what we wanted them to plant, as though we were the landscaping professionals, and then they threw it on us to buy and get the plants to our property and promised to show up to plant them (I'm not sure how we could believe that considering how long it was taking them to do our spring clean up). Granted we have quite a large property, but after admitting they didn't do a good job on some parts of our property it felt like they tried to make it go away without actually fixing it. We spent thousands of dollars to have about 85% of our spring clean up done and several of our bushes and arborvitae cut inappropriately, creating an eyesore, over aggressive edging we asked them not to do, and the wrong color mulching. Were we frustrated? Of course. It felt like they were wasting our time again and again (we had to walk through our property with them 3 times on 3 different days to try to get them to prune and weed the appropriate things for the Spring Clean Up and it still was not completed and we met with them 2ce about fixing the gaps in the arborvitae and they provided no real suggestions about what would look good and fill in the gaps other than more arborvitae). I wouldn't hire them again for a Spring Clean up or mulching. Despite badly cutting our trees and bushes, I thought they were going to be responsive and understand they needed to step up to fix things, as they said they would do. Although we thought the discount for time spent spreading the wrong mulch and damaging the landscape wasn't thrilling to us, we thought we could work with them to landscape a solution. It didn't work out that way, as we felt we were frustrated by trying to get them to help brainstorm a solution--they kept offering what seemed like the easiest thing for them, first just fertilizing and then planting exactly the same thing in front of what they cut. We thought our agreeing to pay for the plants would give them the freedom to make appropriate suggestions for what to plant beyond just planting arborvitae in front of aborvitae. Beyond that they were out of ideas. The more we pushed to try to get it resolved, the less we felt like they were willing to fix the damage they had done. If I were again looking for a landscaper to do a spring clean up, prune trees or bushes in an unsupervised fashion, make any suggestions for landscaping a lawn for appealing and attractive privacy barriers, I would not hire them. Kudos to their secretary/manager for trying to keep up with their promises and being responsive. But, the responses didn't actually resolve the issues.

  • We had a good initial meeting with Arbor one. Unfortunately after that we haven't received any communications from Arbor one. We followed up with multiple phone calls and emails and no response. We were told that the employee we spoke to would followup but didn't receive any calls or emails. We will be moving on to a more responsive vendor.

  • I previously Sean a bad review. I want to update where we are now! I can not say a bad word about Sean's masonry work, he has done some amazing walks for us , all work around my pool is beautiful. I would highly recommend him as a builder! As a matter of fact we are contracting with him for a smaller job. When we contracted with Sean last year he was just starting on his own, after much discussion, we all agree this job was prob to big for first year out! When Sean became overwhelmed he didn't know how to talk with us, instead he stepped away! That was our frustration, don't walk away.. talk! After a lot of bumps in the road Sean is back to work here, doing a great job, beautiful work and we are going forward. I know of a lot of jobs Sean has done since starting ours, stairs, walkways, chimneys... fireplaces all with rave reviews. We believe in him as a mason, support him.. happy to see he is back on track...and very sorry we had to give him a bad review... we would recommend Sean going forward!
