Concrete Repair reviews in Franklin

  • Louie, his wife Lordis and his son Andrew were all more than friendly, professional and willing to answer any questions I had. Louie takes pride in his work and his family business. He was more than happy to show me an album of his body of work. He was willing to work within my budget and was the only one to suggest the approach we took (rather than a complete overhaul of the tile and coping which would have cost anywhere from 2-3 times as much $). I wont say his price was cheap, but then if you own an in ground pool and have dealt with any major repairs to the body of the pool...you know that nothing is cheap. And frankly it's not the kind of work I think anyone should skimp on. You're paying for expertise and craftsmanship, and Louie and Andrew's work was top notch. They reset a couple coping stones that they found were loose, all without bumping the price of the job. Andrew noticed the mouth of the skimmer needed attention so he went ahead and replastered it as well, not something we had discussed. They did leave the grout line of the reset stones unfilled, but i discussed with Andrew what I could use to fill it, was a quick and easy job for me after the fact. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future should I have any need. Thanks Louie and fam!

  • I hired KFG Concrete Construction and Landscaping in the fall of 2016. At that time I gave them a $1,000 deposit, and got a verbal assurance that I would be one of his first customers in the spring of 2017. This was important because he was putting a concrete patio around my in-ground pool. My ability to open the pool was contingent upon the patio being completed. It was a rainy spring and that did cause a delay for KFG Concrete, but when July came around, it became clear that weather was being used as an excuse and that obviously my project (even though KFG had been holding my deposit since the fall of 2016) was low on this company's list of priorities despite the promises that were being made. Finally, after several phone calls "pleading' to get the work started, KFG came out and did the work. That work was poor quality. The general pour and shape of the patio was done well, but the detail work was not at all performed the way a professional should do it. Pouring the cement resulted in the skimmer moving off-center so my vacuum no longer fit. KFG had to grind it down and thankfully, the vacuum does now fit but not at all as well as it used to (installing vacuum attachment requires much wiggling to get it in straight). The pool ladder anchors are not flush with the patio, and are raised to varying heights. Some are an inch, some 2 inches. KFG's owner, Kevin blamed this on the customer getting the wrong pool ladder anchors. Of course, he told me this AFTER the pour so there was little I could do about it, even if it were true. It isn't true. The pool anchors I purchased should have been flush with the concrete according to a neutral company who inspected the work. The pour itself was done on two different days, and the result is two different colors that do not match. KFG's excuse for that the concrete has not had time to cure, and that when the sealant was applied, it would all match. This was an obvious lie, the colors don't match. Not only that, it did not match the color we selected from KFG's brochure. KFG's owner even admitted that, and said that he called his supplier and yelled at him for that. Further, the cleanup after KFG was complete was very poor. Chunks of cement that was scraped off remained hardened on the sides of the new patio. My white fence was covered in dust, and my driveway, where KFG put a dumpster to put the old cement from the existing patio that was demolished, was ruined. There are cracks and deep grooves, and KFG's explanation for that was that their subcontractor overloaded the dumpster and that KFG "yelled at them for that." KFG admitted to these issues, and volunteered to let me keep the final $1000 I owed. KFG also agreed to refund an additional $1000. For months (August through October) I exchanged emails with the owner (which I would be glad to share with anyone contemplating using this company) wherein the owner promised he would refund the money. Several excuses later, the company reneged, which again, speaks volumes about how they treat customers. Promising one thing, doing another. I would not recommend hiring them.

  • There was no water but needed I needed cracks filled so a radon remediation system could be installed.  Radon level was 7.7 before the cracks were filled.  Its now 0.9.   I'll be monitoring the radon level for a year to see if it goes back up but I believe that filling the cracks resolved the radon issue.   Prior to starting the work he explained that the filler would not exactly match the concrete.  This isn't a problem since the basement will be refinished and the floors covered.   He took his time filling the cracks so there was no messy over flow and made sure that the filler was level.   The filler did settle a little after a day but he left me with plenty of filler so I could level them out where needed.   Grinding concrete makes a ton of dust.  The way he setup, the dust was collected and he was and there was no mess.
$700 may seem like a lot to fill cracks, but there were a lot of them and a few of them were very wide.
    Overall I couldn't be happier.

  • Contacted John because our front brick steps were crumbling. Due to age and using the wrong snow melt.
John provided options that were fair and reasonably priced. We scheduled the job a few weeks later and he had his crew there on time and they worked for 3 straight days in blistering heat. They were professional, polite, took great care of our property! They even watered my plants that we were negklecting. I could not have been happier with the service JD Masonry provided and I would not hesitate to use them again. If you need a mason John is your guy and you willnot be disappointed.

  • This is a family business run by John. The company is multi generations working on the crews as this is important to me with this type of experience. They are professional and worked with all of our changes. The first crew took out the old brick steps, the rock foundation and prepared for a cement base. The next crew came in and formed a cement base. Then came the 7 steps, 7 feet long and 7 inches high, put in place with a crane. Then another crew came in and repointed all of our bricks on the front steps.

  • Dhimiter was great.  He arrived when he said he would, did exactly what he said he was going to do, and even reseeded my grass where he had piled some dirt on top.  We had gotten other quotes for significantly more $ but feel Dhimiter did a great job and it was a very reasonable price.
