    Phalan Construction & The Handyman
We really enjoyed working with Bob. We are mostly DYI people with little experience hiring out work and found him professional, reliable, and hard working. He was an excellent guide as to our choices along the way, presenting a variety of options and prices. He kept us informed to the cost, and in any work requiring more than expected we had clear explanations. He is prompt and responds quickly to texts or calls. His work is solid with attention to detail, and he has a wide array of skills. He's worked hard to build his business and it shows.

AW Puma Construction & Remodeling LLC
Needed to remodel my front entryway/mudroom area on my two family home. The existing roof had to be jacked and supported while they rebuilt the floor framing and re-decked. It was a small space but they got it done promptly which was important as the other tenants needed access. Albert and his lead (I can't remember his name!) were always on the ball as well. Overall it was a pretty simple project however I am satisfied with the work that was done.

The guys did an excellent job remodeling my small kitchen. Believe it or not, this was a claim from the ice dams and storms years ago. I decided to do some additional aspects as well while I had them in my home. The biggest part of the project was expanding the usable space of the kitchen into my porch area. Albert, the President, was always very available to answer any questions and concerns as they arose. They dealt with the water and minor mold issue I had as well.I hope to not have to do any remodeling again, but if I do I know who to contact.

    Peirce Home Improvement Inc
I contracted with Dan Peirce to put vinyl siding on the exterior of our screened in porch as well as paint the interior. It also required an additional support post and re-bracketing underneath.  The project initially was priced at approximately  $4,500. I was aware of some spots where there might be rotted wood and was prepared to pay extra in the event they had to replace it here and there. The day they started I gave Dan my cell phone number and told him I would be in and out but available all day and able to stop back in at any time. I asked him to call if there were any issues. When mold was discovered all three walls were demolished and partially hauled away with no phone call to me. When I returned to the house there was only the ceiling and the floor left and a couple of moldy panels for them to show me. When I asked one of his workers if there had been mold on all the panels he replied that he thought so. While I certainly hope they were being honest about the extent of the damage Dan should have called me before allowing it to be ripped out. He was usually not on site except for first thing in the morning, which is probably where some of the problem lies. I received an email from him that evening at 6:45 explaining what had happened after the fact. The additional construction was quoted at $3,375. I agreed to this feeling that I had little choice at that point. Communication throughout the project was poor. Additionally, the demolition left lead paint chips all over due to insufficient use of drop cloths. When the job was done there was an additional $800 dollars added bringing the total to $8,688.42. When I questioned the surprise additions he said it was for things we discussed after the second proposal that were not included.  I told him that if they were not included he should have told me that and mentioned what the costs would be. I asked if we could split the difference, which he said no to. I paid the full $8,688.42. The final product looks good but the process was not smooth.

    SOS Home Services Inc
Called Pro Home services and Sander quickly came out to my house and gave me a free estimate.  The estimates I received were all other the place.  Some were lower and others were much, much higher.  Just had a good feeling so I went with Pro Homes.
They gutted the entire room, added support to the floor, installed a new hard wood floor, added new wiring and lighting, installed wires for surround sound and to mount a flat screen TV on the wall, insulated the room, plastered and painted the room, installed new stairs, and added a new radiator and heating zone.
The only negative, and it is not the fault of Pro Homes, is my town took several weeks to come out for the inspection.  Otherwise, the project would have been finished on time.
They did top notch work and they were a pleasure to work with.  Would hire them again, no question.

    Both jobs went superbly!

The Pella bay window installed about 1997 had  developed wood rot in the frame around the 4X4 glass and in the base and needed to be replaced.  The outside screened-in porch constructed in 1990 needed an updating, the ceiling was leaking and it needed refinishing on the interior surfaces..

Bob Phalan was very professional and brought a superb work ethic to the repair of both areas. He removed the damaged picture window with  rotted areas around it and replaced the window, frame, and sill, painted the interior & exterior, and reinforced the bay window support so that both side windows are now functional.  All this was done in two days. The area was kept very clean during this re-construction activity.  The second phase of ths project included the repair of the porch roof leak and covering the ceiling and inside surfaces with vinyl siding and rehanging the external sound system speakers.  Again his professional demeanor and great personality made it very easy to work with him in designing and his getting the job done most expeditiously and within budget.

I would highly recommend him for any home based repair or addition desired!!!

I called Larry late one night expecting to get his voicemail - instead, he picked up, and I provided some details. We negotiated for a few weeks after deciding on what the room would do (materials, size, shape etc.).Once we signed, the entire project was complete in 2 months time. That two month time period included ordering parts.
From first day of demolition to completion, it took 13 business days to complete - that also includes an extra day of drilling. The crew was fantastic and was meticulous about the details.
They know the harvey product extremely well, and were very clear on how to construct it exactly as expected.
    Great experience.
Overall, we quoted out 6 providers, they were the 2nd or 3rd most expensive, with some more custom offerings the only higher priced.

They were very good. The room is absolutely beautiful. The salesman was very good and not pushy. The price is more than we expected especially for the price. The room itself is absolutely stunning. They are really nice people with a beautiful product. I would use them again.

The replacement of the clad picture window was accomplished in a single day and in a very neat and tidy manner.  His very professional workmanship and easy personal style made it very easy to describe what we wanted to achieve and he worked hard to satisfy us; which h did to the highest degree.
i have retained Phalan Construction to repair my porch roof and to remodel the porch interior.  I would recommend him highly to anyone who needs home repairs or remodeling.
