I had the estimate for the work done which went fine, then called to book the appointment. Was required to put down $200 for the $650 projected repair cost. I did this thinking there would be no issues between then and the repair date. My wife is quite pregnant and we had to move up the repair date to get the nursery ready in time for their birth. (twins) When I called to cancel this appointment and seek a refund of the $200, I was told that the window to cancel was 3 days from the scheduling and that I was forfeit my deposit. This information is in the contract, but I did not catch it at the time. I could only imagine if this were a bigger project and something like this happened to someone else. For the cost of $200 Pioneer Basement has not only lost me as a future customer, but forced my hand in posting several poor reviews such as this one. For any future customers, pay very close attention to this and hope "life" doesn't happen to you in between. Good luck.

Her (Initial contact and communication): Rene was great with our basement lally column work. We contacted him for repair/replacement of the lally columns in our basement which were badly rusting, and he was great to work with from beginning to end. His response time to our initial inquiry was quick and it was obvious after speaking with him that he was an expert at the work needed. His preferred method of communication is by phone but he emailed his proposal to us which we signed and emailed back after multiple conversations about the condition of the lally columns and looking at photographs we emailed to him. He is very friendly and explained the lally column issue so we understood what needed to be done and kept us updated on the timeline for completion all along (which surprisingly was much shorter than expected). His proposal was higher than a couple other contractor proposals received, but we felt like he cared about the work (whereas we felt a bit uneasy about the other contractors), would do a better job than the other contractors, and appreciated that he insisted, as much as we did, on getting a permit from the City for the work (unlike one of the other contractors). I also appreciated his tidiness; whenever he left for the day, the work areas were always picked up. Him (Interactions throughout work on site): From the first visit it was clear that Rene was the most competent of the 4 contractors that gave us an estimate. He insisted on using the best quality materials available, clearly explained and demonstrated the superiority of said materials and his approach to the job. Rene took obvious pride in his work and was cheerful and delightful to discuss the job and other things while regularly explaining the work schedule. He indicated times when he would arrive and what to expect and then he actually showed up and did the work as promised. While completing the agreed upon work, Rene had to make some adjustments to the initial estimate based on re-evaluating the situation on site. He also noted a couple minor problems that he fixed at no additional charge (he fixed a hinge on the basement entry door, put some insulation on the sill above the bulkhead stairs, and sealed holes in the concrete stairs that were there for crane transport and placement). Rene even hauled off an old washer and dryer for us, as well as some concrete footings another contractor had negligently left behind after a previous deck replacement. Thanks to Rene, Ive been too busy getting back to enjoying my basement man cave again so it took me a couple weeks to write these lines. Call Rene and you wont be disappointed if you prefer quality materials, craftsmanship, honesty, good communication, and punctuality. If only all contractors were as professional.

They finished my basement, previously unfinished. They were very knowledgeable and up to date on what my town's requirements were for finished basements. We added a bathroom with a shower as well. A big part of the project was to waterproof the walls since we had a bit of a water issue at one point. Everything looks fantastic and I would recommend them to anybody looking for a company that can handle the planning and building stages of a basement.

I will give PDP a "D" because the end product came out looking ok. If you do get any work done by these guys, please make sure you get any verbal agreements in writing because they did not want to honor splitting the cost of the railing install that we verbally agreed to. Even though we have a text and email confirmation from PDP agreeing to split the cost of the railing install, they still refused to do so. In my opinion, these guys are not trustworthy, do a substandard job and I will never again consider them in the future.

The process was excellent from start to finish. There were some road blocks waiting for inspectors to show up, however Albert always kept me in the loop and made sure I knew when they were coming. He took some project scope changes in stride and the project (understandably) took a bit longer because of the changes. Overall, we are very satisfied customers and will consider Albert and his team for any future projects,

They were here for 2 weeks. It took 2 weeks to do the job. They are very expensive. I don't want to put that down. They provided a new septic system. I would use them again but I sure hope I don't need too.

Very well. When they looked at our problem he said it could be fixed with a sump pump, plus having a French drain already installed was a plus as they could feed the output from the pump into it. We have not had a drop of water in the basement since CMS did the work!

We cannot say enough good things about the Redmond Design Group. They were a delight to work with and the end product exceeded our expectations. They completely transformed our back yard into a vacation paradise! Rob was great to work with and completely trustworthy. From the first contact until project completion and even after, there was a sustained attention to detail and moving the project to completion. The project was excellently managed and the workers were highly skilled, VERY hard working, and a pleasure to have around. We had a somewhat difficult job with different gradations of land abutting state property and within wetlands. Redmond was able to creatively and artfully work with our space as challenges presented themselves throughout the project. It seemed there was nothing they could not do. They also worked with the state and local conservation commission such that we did not need to be involved with this aspect at all. Rob met with us regularly to update us on progress, get our input on decisions, and laiason with all the various workers if we wanted anything altered. The project was expensive, but well worth it both in terms of how much we love the area and its addition to our property value.

About two weeks ago the water main in our basement broke and flooded our unfinished basement with a couple of inches of water. We were able to stop the water with the help of our fabulous Framingham fire department and a handy axe handle. I got three estimates and picked Ellingwood to do the work. Bill told me they had several big jobs to do and it might be the end of the next week before they could start. The he called me Saturday and said they were going to start on Monday ahead of those jobs. Yay!! They were here early morning with four guys. Unfortunately, they discovered that all the pipes in our house ran in the same trench (100 yo house!) and the water pipe was at the bottom. The several hour job turned into a two day job. The workers were great. They explained everything and tried not to get frustrated. The trench ended up being from the house all the way to the street and about four feet deep. Eversouce had to come disconnect an old electrical line also. I would definitely hire this crew again. Thanks again to the guys again at Ellingwood.
