Completely exceeded my expectations! The fabric was lined up beautifully and the cushioning and reinforcement makes for a very solid seat. I immediately showed it to my mom and sister and we felt like a new life of functional art had been given to an old box that has followed my family around the world for the past fifty years. I could not be happier.

Joe Valone is - to say the least - amazing. My furniture needed complete redo - from the springs to the wood. And I am totally overwhelmed at the beautiful job he did! I had the furniture redone 33 years ago by a business that I thoroughly checked out. Joe did a much better job this time. He is personable, very knowledgeable, and the quality of work is fantastic. He also had a wide variety of upholstery samples so I could choose a more modern design. When my furniture was delivered I had a chance to meet the craftsman who stripped and redid my furniture. Not an easy job when the sofa has wings, cornucopias, fruit, paws, swirls, and grooved areas. Joe was so engaging that he kept me appraised of the progress by sending photos of my furniture at various stages. When he had a choice regarding gimp ribbon trim, he sent me photos so I could make the choice. I felt involved in this whole process. I was so impressed that I gave them an antique child's rocker that i had taken apart and stripped decades ago - before I realized that I really didn't want to ruin the piece. The rocker is fantastic! The price for this work was high - but I gladly paid for the expertise and skill. I got what I paid for - and then some.

It was a year apart. I sent photos of what Carolina Cushions had done when I ordered more cushions. They lined up the patterns Identically so everything was interchangeable. I had complimentary through pillows made also. I will ask that they don't stuff the pillows so much next time. My furniture has strong frames and will last I lifetime. Now that I found Carolina Cushions all I have to do is change the seats and backs if I want to redecorate.

    Restorers Without Borders
The question is "How did it go?" and the answer is; perfectly in every way! Restorer's Without Borders had already restored many pieces of furniture for us and we decided, in the midst of a whole house renovation, to have all of our remaining antique furniture restored and reupholstered. It was easily the best decision and most satisfying result of the entire project. Jeff , Afonso and their craftsmen produced results beyond our expectations in quality of workmanship and care of their customer. Each piece was done to enhance the appearance and functionality. We have a home full of beautiful furniture that is fully usable for the purpose it was built for nearly a hundred years ago and will get to enjoy it for the rest of our lives! All of these items are family heirlooms. None of them had been touched for three generations. I believe they probably look better and are more structurally sound now then the day they were originally built. You can't ask for more than that.

Eddie and his wife came to my home to pick up the chairs, and brought lots of fabric samples. They were extremely personable and professional, and gave helpful advice. I am so pleased with the outcome! The chairs were completed in a timely way and are better than they were when new! Thanks so much!! I am looking for more things to upholster . . .

My chair fell apart and the fabric failed in less than two years. I brought my chair back and paid to have it fixed and the chair was return to me with a broken frame. I informed them that there was a problem with the chair as soon as I got it home. I was told that the chair broke because I played, "horsey" on it. I understand that mistakes happen. Something happened when the seat was re-installed. At least be professional and remedy the situation instead of making up excuses like, "horsey." In addition, the back of the chair was fixed incorrectly in a recline instead of the original angle. I was told that there was nothing they could do about it. I was also told that there is no warranty on the fabric unless new foam is installed and they can't install new foam without changing the look and feel of the chair because the original foam is injected. So after two years and two re-upholsteries I have a broken chair with no fabric warranty. Plus, I spent more money re-upholstering the chair than what I original bought it for. As a note, I didn't want to write this review but the owner came right out and refused to fix the chair. She said, "the frame was not her problem."

Beautiful job. We were very pleased as these pieces were given to my husband from distant cousins and had been in the family for generations. Mr. Mavrikis has a great family background in this type of work and gave us wonderful fabric choices. He came out to see the pieces to give us a quote, spent plenty of time explaining what could be done and we felt very comfortable with him handling these prized possessions. The cost was surprisingly reasonable compared to what we had imagined. We are not do-it-yourselfers, so well worth the price. It took about 4 weeks, but he is very busy and well worth the wait. We have engaged him for a second project and may have yet another one in the future.

The loveseat looks and feels better than anticipated. Included in price was refinishing wood, regluing, retying springs etc. Comprehensive restoration. Great workmanship. High standards. Great to deal with. Clear communication. As far as fabric goes, you can choose from their somewhat limited selection, or go elsewhere to purchase your fabric and bring to them. No problems either way. Will go to them for future reupholstery jobs. Highly recommend.

    Upholstery By Paul
Quality is superb! Price reasonable! Last fall (2017) I had 2 large cushions with pleating reupholstered. The cushions went to a well made chair of the 50s era. The cushions look like they belong to the chair! I was so pleased with quality and workmanship that I returned this spring (2018) with 12 chair cushions that go to a 50s era Rod Iron Dining Room Set. Again! Very pleased with the outcome. Paul is what grew this country! He works from his home, he does quality work, gives CUSTOMER SERVICE.....all the things that a large company doesn't understand! I would recommend him to anyone that is interested in having the job done RIGHT the First Time! (Anyone over 50 understands that phrase!!!) Wish I had pictures to attach, but cushions are now out of state. Will provide pictures in a couple weeks!
