  • The glasses do not feel right vision wise. The distance portion seems off (bifocal lens), and I cannot describe it properly, just seems a bit distorted. The reading seems OK. I do not use them as a result. My eyes feel strange after 5 to 10 miniutes. The optomitrist rechecked me right then when I got the glasses and stated they did not feel right and the re-check came out with the same results so the prescription is suppose to be good. Will try someone else for both the exam and glasses next time. If I find a good deal will get glasses somewhere else with same prescription with hope that it was the lenses that were bad. Lisa Murray who did the exam a couple of years ago is no longer there, those glasses were great. My sister had a similar experience but a different optomitrist, same glass provided (in house).

  • I've been going to Dr. Hoffmann for almost 15 years.  They take very good care of you and his whole staff is good.  Very convenient location....I like him very much.  I've been to other people over the years and I wouldn't switch this doctor for anyone.

  • I went to the RI Eye Institute to examine a change in my vision. They performed a full exam with two staffers, and provided a complete analysis of my eyes, a new prescription for reading glasses and a good explanation of the health of my eyes. Further, they discovered that I had been treated by the practice in another location years earlier, and consolidated my records, all with minimal input from me.

The staff was friendly and accommodating.

  • Went very well. No complications. He's not the most chatty guy, but is knowledgeable and when I made the point that I had more detailed questions, he was willing to take the time to talk. Overall, I'm glad I chose his service for Lasik rather than Koch or some of the other providers.

  • Rhode Island Eye Institute was recommended by my husband, as he was a patient with them a few years ago. They are very professional and organized. I have undergone an eye procedure by one of the specialists of the same practice. Their treatment has been effective. I appreciate the waiting room environment, as there is no television. I like their services a lot and will continue to use the same.

  • It is a large brand new office with about a half dozen doctors, you don't usually see the same doctor each time. They are very professional and also sell glasses. They do a good job. They have convenient hours and are located conveniently for me. They have the latest equipment and you can usually get in for you appointments pretty quickly. The staff is excellent and the doctors treat everyone very professionally.

  • Dr. Perlman is a highly regarded eye surgeon, and apparently very busy. My appointment was toward the end of the day, and the place tends to get a bit behind as the afternoon wears on. I was on time, but had to wait 20 minutes before being taken in to see the assistant, who took a history and checked my vision. Dr. Perlman then rushed in, and talked to me for about one minute (I had recognized the problem several days earlier, on the weekend, and had begun to treat the condition myself with leftover medication from a previous infection). He then took a quick look in my eye, confirmed the diagnosis, and outlined a tapering treatment plan. He was about to rush out the door when I asked if I could have a new sample (since I was using old stuff). They didn't have any, so he wrote a prescription. I felt like I was keeping him from his next destination when I asked whether I needed a follow-up appointment. The answer was no. All in all, I think he spent less than five minutes with me. This wasn't a huge problem, since I knew what I had anyway and just wanted it checked by the doctor. Still, I felt like he was rushing to get done with me, and I didn't feel especially cared for.

  • They 're all good there. My husband, my mom and I go there. The doctors are good but the wait turns forever but the office is gorgeous.
