I was surprised to find that they do not start working the first thing in the morning.  I must have been crazy to think that the three men for 8 hours which was part of the deal would start work at the beginning of a normal 8 hour day say 8-8:30ish.  At 9:30 we called Tony and left a message.  10:15 4 guys show up and begin working.  Maybe I should explain working, Tony was working and the other three guys watched.  They didn't use a chain saw and they couldn't even put branches into the chipper.  Tony was the only person using equipment ( with the exception of two brief periods where 1 guy used the bobcat) so when it was time to chip branches he would use the bobcat and pick them up while the other three basically watched Tony work. This meant that only one thing could happen at a time.  He was the only person using the lift  (others watched), he used the chain saw (others watched), he used the bobcat (others watched).  To be fair they did drive the truck up and down the driveway. At about 3:30 when one tree was still standing and the stump grinding still hadn't been done the "help" started talking about going home, not even the advertised 8 hours of labor.  I made a comment to them about finishing the job and that they didn't get here until 10:15. One of the workers actually began arguing with me that he was there at 9:30 (which he wasn't). The deal was for 3 workers for 8 hours, a total of 24 hours of labor, we got 4 people, 1of which worked, they were going to leave after about 5 1/2 hours.  I voiced my dissatisfaction, reminded Tony that he chose the trees and the amount of them.  In the end the trees came down and I spoke to Tony.  I can say that yes I did get the trees down and Tony is a great worker. I am left with a lot of cigarette butts around my yard, a stump that was not ground down and three piles of logs too large for me to move and too wide for my 16 inch chainsaw.  His explanation for his rude and nonworking help, "that was my son". and "good help is hard to find".  Yes it is and unfortunately, my experience with this tree company only further proves that statement.

The first time i called and left a message,He responded that night to my first call. He showed up on time for our appointment. The price was agreed upon and a date was set for the trees to be removed. When that date came around, he did not contact me to confirm he was doing the job that week. I called him to see what was happening. He called me back that night and said he wanted to do the job in a week or two. I was not comfortable with that due to my christmas decorations and wanted to wait then until after the holidays. He said we could do it after Christmas. But then the next week, my neighbor called him about taking down some branches of their tree. Then he wanted to do the job the next day. I was still concerned about my decorations, but was assured they would be taken care of. And could they access my neighbors tree branches from my driveway. I said ok, but my trailer would have to be moved. On the day of service, I was dropping my daughter off at school when they arrived. They had already jumped my 6ft fence to get into the back yard and that tree was cut down first and removed. Then they moved on to the front yard tree and put cones by the wires of the Christmas decorations to protect them. The tree was taken down with out a problem. They moved my trailer forward so they could then remove the branches for my neighbor. I had to leave to pick up my daughter from school and paid them. When i came home they were gone but had not moved my trailer back to its original spot. We tried moving it but could not. I called him and said they would have to come back and move my trailer back up the driveway. He did not respond to my call, but he and his workers showed up the next day around noon and moved it back. He is a very poor communicator but great at cutting down trees and thats exactly what i needed.

    Dostal Tree Service
Dostal Tree Service was amazing.  The owner was responsive to emails, quick to respond, and cleared everything off of my property.  He was professional and the best price in the area!  I highly recommend his services!  In addition, he's a certified arborist - so the trimming was done in a way to enhance the tree and cause no harm to it!

I called them because I have a Spruce tree that appears to be suffering from a Blight and I wanted their advice on how it should be dealt with.
One of their excellent Arborists came out the same day to inspect the tree and called me to tell me exactly what the problem was and that, unfortunately there was not a reasonable way of dealing with it. They told me that the tree will eventually get to the point of needing to be removed and replaced, but he spent a considerable amount of time on the phone advising me on what I could do to help it survive as long as possible.
I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism and was impressed with the amount of time he spent on the phone giving me advice, instructions and directions for caring for this tree.
I would definitely call this company first for any future arborist or horticultural needs.

I asked CL Frank to come to my property to provide me with an estimate for removing a tree and pruning another. Kevin suggested that I have an additional tree removed that was in poor health and add a cable to another tree. I agreed and we set a date for the work to be performed.
The crew arrived on time and performed the work to my satisfaction. They chipped and removed the brush and cut the trunk into smaller sections to use as seats around the fire pit, per my request. They performed the work with little to no impact to the yard.
While the crew was removing the tree in the front yard, they accidentally hit my telephone line, which caused a small chip in my vinyl siding. They were very embarrassed by the situation and immediately notified me of the damage. They told me that they would make arrangements to have it fixed.
I was overwhelmingly impressed by how CL Frank handled this mistake. They suggested that I decide if I would prefer to make arrangements to have someone fix it and they would pay or they would make arrangements to fix it. I got a quote for the work and they deducted the amount from my bill. I received numerous apologies for any inconveniences that this may have caused as well as a personal card and gift certificate from the company's president. Additionally, they were unable to completely remove the sawdust the day the work was performed because of the snow. They came back and cleaned up as soon as the snow melted without requiring any follow up on my part.
Overall, I thought that CL Frank performed excellent work at a competitive price. I was very impressed by their response and professionalism in handling a minor mistake. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others.

There was some initial confusion about which tree needed to come down, so I would suggest the people with numerous trees on their property either be there to point out the correct tree or mark it in some way.   I have a large number on my property and didn't do so, which resulted in an estimate for the wrong tree.  Once we resolved the confusion I was quickly provided with an estimate for the correct tree.
The work team arrived at 8:00 AM to start work.  They had come earlier in the week to check the tree and discuss how to best take it down.  They went right to work on the removal day, working steadily and methodically to remove the tree in what was clearly an organized fashion.  It was down by 1:00 PM and they had cleaned up my yard, my neighbor's yard, and the street  by 1:30.    They were professional, courteous and worked well as a team.  At no time was I concerned about my house or the neighbors.
It may seem irrelevant but I was also impressed by the condition of the equipment they were using and the fact that the men had uniform shirts.  This is clearly a professionally run organization from top to bottom and I would certainly use them again (although I would be sure to mark the tree to be removed to avoid any confusion).

The job was done while I was at work, so there was no disruption for me at all. Everything was left very neat and clean, and he even hauled away some branches that had fallen since he had given me the estimate. All the local tree companies were very busy with storm clean-up, but I felt like the job was done promptly. I will definitely use them again.

When I called for a quote, two gentlemen from the company came by within a few days, and as they had scheduled with me.
Several other local companies failed to respond to my calls at all, and one other company that did seemed unable to call me as instructed making for a week of phone tag.  Hence I am unable to comment on the competitiveness of the price, since there were no competing quotes.  It seems reasonable to me.
They quickly assessed the job and offered me a price.  We did not do a written estimate because the job was quite simple and not expensive.  My word was good enough for them, and theirs for me.
They told me they would not be able to complete the job for several weeks.
In fact they came and did the job a few days later, ahead of schedule.
They felled the trees in precisely the location I had asked and avoided damaging a key tree I wanted saved. They cut the stumps off low to the ground: not something we discussed but very useful since I plan to excavete the stumps myself. This was a simple job and my key goals were timeliness and low cost.  Both were met.

My only minor concern was that they told me they would call me to confirm prior to actually doing the job.  I would have liked to give my neighbors with small children some warning.  However, since this was not a big issue in our discussion I regard it as a minor inconvenience.

Larry came out to do an estimate, really took time to answer all our questions, and the estimate was entirely accurate.  They came to do the gutters and roof one day, then came back the next day to clear the yard. They even cleaned up the leaves and branches on the street side of our picket fence! They were/are great to do business with, honest, clear, timely, and effective.

A representative from the Company viewed my requested work needs. He stated that the owner would get back to with an estimate for doing the work. The Company did not follow-up with an estimate. I had someone else do the work.
