A&L Heating, Cooling & Home Improvements
A&L were quick to come look at what we wanted to do and in less than a week we had a quote. They also had the best price and the only one of three that we talked to that would remove our old unit and patch up the wall. The new mini-split system has exceeded our expectations and I would recommend them if asked.

    Seaside Gas Service Inc
Everything about working with Seaside Gas has been great! We
had central AC installed in our 3 bedroom, open living area ranch house. I
received quotes from four different vendors.
Seaside was not the lowest, but they spec?d a higher
efficiency system. While other contractors said the math would mean years
before the cost savings was reflected, they seemed to be unaware of the Mass
Save HEAT Loan program which offered us a 0% interest rate on a 7 year loan
(and which their equipment did not qualify). When you factor in that savings we
certainly break even quickly on the more expensive unit and are then left with
    an efficient AC
The work was done while we were away but it was completed on
time and we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the house when we
arrived.  Kevin came by when we were back
and walked me through the new thermostat and its features. He also came back to
tune the system within a week and to make sure everything was running smoothly.
It is clear he knows the ins and outs of this business.
Deb in the office not only scheduled the work, but also assisted
us through the HEAT Loan application process and handled both the manufacturer
and Mass Save rebates for the equipment. All of which was a great help.
It was evident through every step of the process that Kevin,
Deb, and everyone at Seaside are professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.
I?ve already recommended them to a friend and will continue to do so. I also
plan to call them if we decide to replace our forced hot water heating system.

    E.F. Winslow Plumbing & Heating
First let me say that we've used EF Winslow ever since moving to the Cape 13 years ago for our boiler service and maintenance. Until this last encounter we were always happy with the service. They showed up on time, the cost was competitive and in general the service was done correctly, although as in any such business it all depends on which tech you end up with. Approximately 3 weeks ago I put in a request through their online form to have my 18 year old  water heater replaced. At the time it was still OK but I was concerned about the age. Got a call from the office quickly (the next day I think). We had a brief discussion and they promised to get back to me with an estimate, which they did. However the estimate was for the wrong type of water heater. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and will assume I didn't clearly describe my installation. I explained exactly what was needed  (including the model number of my current heater) and again they promised to get back to me. This never happened. Perhaps I should have followed up but that is their job not mine. At any rate I let it slide until somewhere around March 20 or 21st. By now of course the tank started to leak! I then put in another request for the estimate reminding them that they never got back to me, been a customer for years, can take my business elsewhere, etc. I was a little snarky but not that bad really. I immediately got an email from Andrea (on a weekend day as a matter of fact) that they were very sorry and they would have the parts department on it first thing on Monday. I'm thinking that this is great, we'll have a new water heater in no time. Sure enough Monday morning I get the estimate by email from Andrea for a new Ruud water heater with a labor "guesstimate" but no idea what model and the price seemed really high for a basic 40 gal water heater. I asked what model they were proposing to use. The response was a Ruud P40S-2. That is the model number of the existing one! I had given them the model number when this all started. At this point I called Andrea and told her that that was the model number of the old unit which is not available any longer. "Hmmmmmm, I'll give this to Patrick in the parts department" That was the last I heard from them and that is the last time they'll hear from me. I think I should be allowed to have all the information I need to make an informed decision - it is my money after all.

Harwich Port Heating & Cooling Inc
Outstanding service and professional installation from sale to finished installation. Salesman was knowledgeable and low pressure. Price was competitive. Installation was delayed by customer and Harwich Port AC was responsive to our needs and rescheduled to enable us to meet an early summer installation deadline.
This installation required a challenging custom solution for duct work. The installation team was expert, diligent, polite, and cooperative. Job took 9 business days with ~3 men onsite/day. Delivery of functional system ahead of deadline with professional startup.
We insist on quality and professional service. This company delivered both. We highly recommend them for any AC service needs and certainly for any major AC projects.

    Houde Mechanical
Greg walked through the house and suggested the best system for our needs. He provided a proposal and after reviewing his numbers against other bidders, we decided to retain Houde Mechanical for the project. Greg and his son came early in the day and in a couple of days, we were fully installed and functioning. He took the time to explain the system and then returned after the really warm weather had started to tweak and ensure all was operating appropriately. There is an extensive amount of ductwork, all installed in the attic, and it all is pristine and looks beautiful. We and our guests greatly enjoyed the a/c this past summer!

Bourque Heating and Cooling Co Inc
It was done in a rental property so the timing had to be very precise.  We had a 3 day window of opportunity to get the entire thing done.    Bob  laid out the things I had to do such as get the gas company to bring the line in ,etc. and line up an electrician.  He also sent me the forms required by the gas company to order the equipment.  Bob did the calculation on the required size of the furnace and as Instructed, I paid the gas company.
The equipment arrived in the nick of time and the work was scheduled for a particular date and time.  Unfortunately, the crew came a day earlier and the renters were very unhappy.  If they had called me, I could have straightened it out with Bob but they didn't.  I wound  up having to compensate them for spending their last day of vacation at the house waiting for the workmen to leave.  Totally unnecessary, I know, but the customer is always right.
I told Bob what had happened and we worked out a solution easily.   I was completely satisfied.  When the system was first used, the following week, there was a hangup with one of the thermostats and he sent out a crew member to fix it immediately.
I was extremely pleased with his professionalism and manner and would unhesitatingly recommend him without reservation.  In fact, I  have added him to my list of  contractors for my real estate and property management clients.
His staff is very efficient and courteous.  I wish everyone was as reliable and easy to do business with..
