  • The antique cabinet glass was broken in the move. They would not completely cover the cost of the damage including having items shipping to get my cabinets custom glass made, even though I have several e mails between myself and Alex confirming he would not only cover the cost of the damage but my out of pocket cost to ship an original peace of unbroken glass to the fabricator to be duplicated. I have been since told to this will not happen. Do not use this company they are rough, they speed and do not take care of your items, they do not care.

  • Full disclosure: we did not have the movers move everything; mostly large, bulky items and anything that couldn't fit in a hatchback via numerous back and forth trips. I'd heard horror stories about movers before and had never used one but when my wife and I bought a house we knew we couldn't do everything ourselves considering we have 18 month old twins. I shopped around for the best quote and when Troy called me, he laid it all on the table. He advised me how to do the quickest and easiest move. In other words, he prepped us on how to be as efficient as possible. For example, we have two cribs and he said they would happily break them down and set them back up, but if we wanted to save time (and money) it might be easier for us to break the cribs down ourselves. Troy was very open and honest about what they were going to do. There were no hidden fees, and we actually ended up paying $200 less than our initial quote. The movers we had were a 3 man crew and couldn't have been more courteous and professional. They arrived 15 mins early and were all business once they got to the apartment. They asked questions if they were unsure about something and were flexible when I needed to add more items to the truck. When they delivered to the new house, they were just as good. In fact, our twins napped the whole time they were unloading. I'm not sure if my experience is typical or not, but my advice to anyone needing a mover: do as much as you can yourself and let the movers do everything else. When it does come time to get help I highly recommend Troy's and I would heed his advice when discussing a plan of action because it will save time and money.

  • In many ways they're fine. What we found was that the movers themselves were having such a good time, it was a short move, we only moved about 20 miles.  When we got here and eventually unpacked and opened up stuff, we found that there were like dings on furniture that probably shouldn't have been there. There was the one piece of glass that I asked them to move, they did pack it up, but when it got here, it's nothing fancy, it's just a sheet of tempered glass that goes on top of a buffet to protect the surface of the buffet, have not quite cracks that weren't there before. They were very good about disassembling my desk. The guy that did that was very conscientious and knew what he was doing to getting it done for me right, which I appreciated. They were very focused on the time frame of getting it done. They need to have a little less fun time and keeping focused on the moving part. The price we felt was quite reasonable.

  • I talked to several movers from Angie's List and received a few quotes. I liked Troy the best, but was concerned about the one negative review. After I talked to Troy, I felt very comfortable with his advice, his price and his understanding of our needs. We hired him. His guys were amazing. They did a great job moving heavy furniture down and up stairs in a very efficient manner. Excellent service and a good price! Very happy with them.

  • The two guys were terrific -- very friendly and eager to help however they could, especially since I wasn't QUITE ready for the move in time for their 8am arrival. At the last minute they agreed to come two hours later than scheduled, then helped with moving unpacked stuff out of the way to clear the furniture -- even packing up a few boxes. I would DEFINITELY recommend them!

  • Rob and Tim were professional and courteous and provided a written estimate which was on target with the job and other bids. No surprises prior, during or after the move or with settling the bill. Highly recommended.

  • Carlos and his crew were the nicest movers that I have ever worked with. They were timely and very positive. I moved into a small house with a lot of odd angles - after having to remove my front door - they carefully brought everything. They left my place very clean an neat.

  • Packing and move went very smoothly.  Packing took about 6 hours w/ 3 crew members.  Move took about 9 hours w/ 5 crew members, two trucks.  They were VERY organized and efficient.   All of them were very professional and polite.  They took exceptional care in packing and wrapping everything.  Insurance was a flat fee, which was great.  Cost of the move was hour/crew based, but I'll tell you, these guys hustled the entire time.  I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company.

  • First off, Gentle Giant is not the cheapest (probably the most expensive).  But you do get what you pay for with a move.
The quoting process was easy, person came over to do inventory and quoted us a price.  We got competitive quotes that were considerably less ... but our previous move left us with damaged furniture, so we decided to try GG, because of good recommendations.
They sent 4 guys to pack.  They did a good job packing, took about 6-7 hours.  They actually used less packing material than quoted.
On moving day they really shone.  Moving days seems to drag on forever ... but they sent 5 guys who made quick work of it.
With moving you pay by the hour, and I've seen movers go slower than I thought they should - racking up more hours.
GG chose to use the nearby stairwell to move our stuff from the 2nd to ground floor.  This was a much shorter walking path than using the elevator.  I'm sure they saved 1-2 hrs by making the extra effort of stairs vs. elevator.
Moving the stuff into our new house, the guys actually jogged back between the house and truck.
The final price was right on with the quote (material was lower, labour was higher - we had a lot in storage).
Overall, very please with GG.  Highly recommend them.  When it comes to speed and quality I doubt GG can be beat.

  • The movers showed up on time and were able to move everything quickly and efficiently. The cost did seem a bit high for the distance, but they did a pretty good job overall. The movers had a very good attitude and were easy to deal with. I would hire them again in the future if the price was competitive or they had a good deal at the time.
