Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Charlestown

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • my bathroom was stuck in the 70s with pink tiles and old decor. The company was inexpensive which made me a little skeptical. In the end they ended up doing a beautiful job, were very communicative throughout the process and I certainly got more than my money's worth and a beautiful new bathroom. I am planning to use them again when I'm ready to redo my kitchen.

  • We hired tim for a complete demo and re-fresh of our condo kitchen in Charlestown, and could not have been happier with his work. From the first meeting, Tim was professional, responsive and transparent (we noticed this immediately, especially after a few other potential contractors did not show up for appointments). Throughout the whole project, Tim communicated with us frequently (this was very important to us, as we could not be home during the weekdays) and his attention to detail was evident early on in the project. Not only was the project completed earlier than estimated, but it was on budget and exceeded our expectations! This was our first experience with remodeling and we hope to hire Tim for each future project. Professional, responsive, on budget and a general joy to work with.

  • We have done many projects over the years with different contractors, having owned 8 other homes. Jeff has been the easiest, most reliable and responsive contractor we have ever worked with. No surprises. Good quality and his people were always pleasant to work with. He also helped us resolve issues by putting us in touch with other resources. I highly recommend Jeff.

  • It went well, longer than expected. But the results are awesome! Construction started before Thanksgiving and we experienced delays due to the holidays for the inspection, which delayed the project and the multiple snowstorms did not help. I am very pleased with the results. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new bathroom. I look forward to the showers! Night and day from before. Love the kitchen with the new cabinets, new countertop, appliances and Sergio's suggestion for the farmhouse sink. The accent wall is AWESOME and very stunning. They also replaced my outdated closet doors and bought me extra storage space in my hallway closet. In a condo like mine, I need all the space I can get. They also redid my ceiling, which had some water damage from several years ago. In the bedroom, we replaced the ugly commercial white rug for Prego hardwood floors, expand my current closet to make me a walk-in closet and built me a custom dresser using see through drawers from Ikea. Also, they built a reach in closet and helped install custom barn doors for me. They also swapped out my old outdated lights for LED flush mounts, recessed lights, pendants. I was able to pick all the materials for the project myself and gave sketches/picture mash-ups to Sergio and Danilo was able to build the cabinets, vanity, etc. to specs. I picked out the paint for them to paint the rooms for me. I shared my before and after pictures with family, friends and co-workers. I've gotten a LOT of compliments on the work.

  • Brent was absolutely fantastic. Our initial plan was to knock down the wall and build an island around the chimney. When Brent knocked the wall down, he let us know that there were problems with the chimney that we were unaware of. Brent did a great job of communicating throughout the process and he spoke with us about alternative options and what they would cost. He helped us develop an idea that turned out even better than we thought and still stayed within our initial budget. Brent cleaned the work area every day during the project so that we could still be comfortable at home. He was also extremely punctual every day and completed the project on time. At every step, Brent went above and beyond the call of duty. Brent helped coordinate with people making deliveries and the company that installed the granite counter-tops that Brent framed for us. Brent also came in to finalize the project on a Saturday morning to make sure that the project was completed on time before the holidays. I was reluctant to undertake the project because of my fears about having construction problems at my home. Brent allayed all of my concerns with his consistent and professional work. The kitchen island looks absolutely fantastic and really opened up the house. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to undertake a home remodeling project hire Brent.

  • The quality of the majority of the work was good, however the job still isn't done after numerous delays and we finally all moved in despite these setbacks. The job was going okay until late spring early summer of 2017 when the contractor, Martin Egan, began asking again for more money in advance "to keep things moving"- this is after nearly 10 months of demo and construction, perhaps we as an association were too trusting and desperate to move home after a fire had displaced us nearly 12 months prior. Main issues: 1. Lack of consistent and clear communication with regards to the timeline 2. Failure to ensure materials and labor was secured to meet timeline. 3. Failure to produce progress that would warrant additional payment 5. Delays that were to be expected with a project this size were not properly managed and reasonable efforts were not made to make-up days or communicate an updated timeline. 6. Unethical business practices were revealed to us in conversations with employees 7. Paid for a change order, yet months went by without the materials appearing or work being done. 8. Project manager on-site had NO authority of purchases or scheduling. Martin was routinely out of communication, would fail to show up to pre-arranged meeting, did not keep word or promises, did not treat homeowners with respect. Look, I could go on and on- we have plenty of emails, texts and photos to document the project and shortcomings on the GC are very clear. The main point is this is NOT a company I would hire or recommend. There were lots of great sub-contractors that I would use again- but they still haven't been paid in full. The job isn't complete, punch list isn't done, there are piles of construction debris, tools and materials in various areas, unpaid subs and a lot of empty and hollow promises from Martin Egan. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issues, get the job done and punch-list complete, I fear this renovation will be added to the long list of horror stories with contractors.

  • I wholeheartedly recommend Nelson and his team! I bought a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom condo in Charlestown last year that needed a lot of work. Fortunately for me my building manager recommended Nelson and Sky Cover Construction. Nelson and his team were professional, honest, tidy, and the quality of their work is exceptional. My new kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful!! I can (and do) recommend them with no hesitation! 5 stars!!!

  • Awesome. First of all, they are lovely, honest, smart people. And every subcontractor they use is just like them. They treat your home like it's theirs, so careful and respectful. Most importantly, the technical work is excellent, and they are willing to come back as often as they need to in order to correct, alter, and improve. Here and there, the communication was inconsistent--mixed messages on dates, and misunderstandings about this or that detail. That's the only reason for the two Bs. But overall I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend them.

  • Excellent. Joe and his crew were exceptional. They were very detail oriented and did absolutely beautiful work. Joe keeps a very clean and organized job site which we appreciated. I met most of the sub contractors that Joe works with and they were all equally excellent. We felt very comfortable with Joe and his crew in our house and could not have been happier with the results. Joe is a perfectionist and it shows in the finished product. While a little slow to return phone calls prior to starting the project, Joe was extremely responsive while working on our job and was quick to answer all of my millions of questions with obvious knowledge, humor and patience. I cannot recommend Kindregan Carpenty highly enough.

  • Fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable and made excellent design choices. He kept the work space from getting damaged, and he was very tidy while making the home improvement. The end result was beautiful. I couldn't be happier!
