    Contacted company to obtain estimate along with other companies. Darren was very responsive even though he was headed out on vacation for a long weekend. He did follow-up with email to make sure I understand his proposal which none of the other companies did that provided an estimate. I did contract with Atlantic to replace my old system which was 20+ years old. They came to the house (Darren, Liam and Adam) before starting the work so they could review the plans for starting the following Monday. They did confirm everything with me including the start time. I was contacted at the end of each day with an updated status on the work. The job took two and 1/2 days to complete and the basement was left clean after their work. Communication was excellent as well as explaining what they may need to do in the basement to ensure that everything was up to current code. Both Liam and Adam were professional and polite.

    Matt and his coworkers put everything in seamlessly, they even got me a deal on the service policy when the orginal boiler than I wanted was clearly not the right size according to my measurements and theirs. They came bacl twice at no extra charge, only with their kind attitude and efficient work ethic. I also appreciated how respectfully they work together and how they liked my dog! I am not kidding. Matt grew up in Chelsea with his father who owns the business and this is how he learned, He shared a few stories about his father, their dog and their family business, Personally, this is type of company one dreams of and wants to support.     Jim and his associate did a wonderful job. They kept me apprised as the project progressed. Took care not to set off smoke alarms while they were soldering pipes near smoke detectors. They left the work area, (a space off my living room), cleaner than it was before they arrived.

    On January 18, 2017 through Angie’s List I bought a deal (for $59.00) from Sila Heating, Cooling, Electrical for a 22-point furnace inspection and cleaning. For the last of couple days I started to feel a strange smell, coming out from boiler. The plumber came to my house on the next day, performed an inspection plus cleaning and concluded, that everything is OK with my boiler. However he couldn’t to name any reason, why the boiler has a strange smell, when it’s on. After one day of inspection the boiler got broken. It happened on Friday night. Obviously I could contact Sila on Saturday and Sunday, so the temperature in my house over 2 nights dropped to 49 degrees. On upcoming Monday the plumber came to my house again, found out what the problem is, and gave me a price of repair: as he said, it will be around $600. However a couple minutes later he changed his mind and gave me another price of $800, which included cost of broken part (inducer fen motor, $650, as he said), plus cost of labors, plus cost of emergency, and plus costs of shipping and handling. I didn’t have any choice because at this point the temperature in my house dropped to 40 degrees. After 24 hours of waiting, on the next day the broken part of my boiler was replaced. All procedure took around 10-15 min. However, finally plumber gave me the bill of $845, saying, that extra charge of $45 is for shipping and handling. I refused to pay this amount, because accordingly to mutual agreement shipping and handling originally was included in the amount $800.After brief discussion invoice was decreased for $45, as I requested. So, I paid with check and everything could be over…however the plumber wrote the replaced part’s number on the bill and I decided to check on Internet, what is the market price of this broken part. As I discover, the market price for this part (Inducer Fan motor kit 510312312) was in price range of $243 to $350, but not $650, as representative from Sila Company informed me during estimate. So, I got overcharged at least for $300, and I am really not appreciating to Sila Company for rip-off.

    I love Barrell Plumbing. I call them and they will come. I have used him both at my house and my office, I call him and he is there. He is super. I’ve got a problematic area down there, you can’t get to it, it’s behind the heating system. That was $2,000. They’re just so good. Their crew is good, they do it right. I wasn’t thrilled with the original $2,000, but I just think it was a difficult place to get to, so it was a lot more than anyone had planned.

    We have worked with CCL for a few years now on our heating, cooling and plumbing. We highly recommend the full CCL team both for regular maintenance of HVAC systems (including pointing out potential issues with aging systems) and when emergencies arise (like our AC unit that stopped on an August Saturday and a technician was at the house within a few hours and fixed it). The technicians are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and the customer service team responds quickly. They are also incredibly pleasant to work with--unique in contracting in my experience.

    I got several estimates, but Ray's was absolutely the best. He wasn't the cheapest, but the cheapest guy did not know what he was doing and was not going to change any of the pipes. Ray came in and did a wonderful job installing the new boiler, getting the inspection and helping me fill out paper for my heat loan and rebate. When my neighbor's boiler failed a month later - and spit water from the radiators all over our house - he answered our emergency call, diagnosed the problem over the phone and helped us get someone there ASAP to fix. I can't say enough good things about Ray.
