Barry did a fantastic job. He is meticulous and efficient in his work. Barry made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I would definitely hire him again and give him my highest recommendation.

    Crystal Painting Services
Leonardo promptly returned my phone call, showed up at the time promised to look at the job and provided pricing the next day. His pricing is fair and the work is excellent, his crew was friendly and professional throughout the job. Leonardo made sure the job is done right with lot of attention to detail even though I was not living there, and my condo looks like new. He also provided referrals for other electrical, tile and plumbing work, they also did excellent work. Very highly recommended.

    DiOrio Builders & Designers Inc
We hired DiOrio Builders and Designers to take on a massive project: full gut renovation of our master bathroom and powder room, and a partial renovation of another full bathroom. Like most big projects, this took longer and cost more than expected because of unanticipated events, many of which were out of our control (eg, mold, new code regulations, supply backorders, etc.) However, Derek and his team worked extremely hard to make it all come together and deliver 3 beautifully renovated bathrooms that passed inspection with flying colors. In addition to being professionals who truly took pride in a job well done, the team was pleasant, considerate, and extremely careful of keeping the work area & surroundings clean. This was particularly important, as we moved out of the house for 2 weeks during the demolition phase, but were back during the rest of the construction. With 2 young kids, we appreciated the care the team took to keep dust and dirt under control. Derek also kept an open line of communication, and we were able to have open and honest discussions of some difficult next steps. Thank you for doing a wonderful job!

    SILMAC Construction Inc.
Joe is responsive, courteous, and thoughtful. We had no trouble scheduling the original appointment and he was helpful in thinking creatively about the options for the project. The price was reasonable, similar to that from other contractors with good reputations. You should note that Silmac's price is for labor only and doesn't include ANY materials - including basic things like paint, grout, etc, or for removing the trash from the job (we had to pay that separately to a trash removal company). It's a reasonable approach, but if you don't read the fine print on the estimate, you might be surprised or frustrated, since most contractors I have used for other work didn't charge for the standard materials for the job - they just included it in the overall estimate. There were two main hiccups along the way: First, the plumbing didn't work out exactly as Joe had envisioned, so we had to do more work downstairs than expected. This slowed things up and required us to do some modest remodeling in our dining room below the bathroom. Second, the project itself took longer than expected, in part due to the above issue, but also separate from that there were often periods of a week or more waiting for the next subcontractor or inspection to come. The quality of the work was excellent, but if you're on a tight timeline you may want to find someone else. Overall, we were very satisfied with the final product, and I will continue to hire Silmac and Joe in the future.

    Capital Construction Contracting Inc
The work went very well. Capital Construction was clear about all costs and honest about sub-contracting prices. They worked very well with an independent sub-contractor. They were very reliable in terms of keeping to schedule and were usually easy to contact. The initial work was rushed at the end, causing some flaws in the final stretch. After an interval to schedule a return, they were very thorough in correcting all errors noted. In sum, Capital Construction kept to their commitment to complete customer satisfaction in the end. Prices are higher end, but you know you will get what you asked for in the end.

    Atmosphere Painting & Plastering
This is the second time I've called Atmosphere Painting and Vanildo to do work. Vanildo is very responsive, shows up on time, charges very fair prices and does a great job. He got this job done in two days, one day primarily of prep and the second day of painting. He is always polite and professional, and most importantly someone I can trust in my home. I will be calling him again next time there is work to be done.

    Socelvic Co
The project was a disaster. They did demolition on my apartment and did a terrible job of cleaning up. There was debris everywhere and the job site was unsafe and filthy. After demolition, they went away and did no work for 6 weeks. As this was a rental apartment, time was of the essence since I was losing rental income. They didn't seem to care about my schedule. There was very little communication. My calls, texts, and emails were only sporadically answered. Once the work began in earnest, the quality of the workmanship was terrible. They didn't protect my wood floors, so they got all scratched and needed to be refinished. Even though I gave them a detailed spreadsheet of the items to order for the renovation, they ordered and installed the wrong parts. They told me that they could get me a discount off Home Depot prices, but when I saw the purchase order, the prices were actually higher than if I ordered the items myself. They had no consistent crew working on the job, so I had to explain what I needed over and over. Junior Vicente was rarely at the site, so I had to talk directly with workers that spoke little or no English to explain what needed to be done. They put in a sewer vent pipe through the roof of the house and never sealed it off with a boot, so water leaked in through three floors of the house. Drywall was installed with huge gaps between the boards and insufficient nails. Electrical rough work was done even after the rough inspection. Waterproofing placed on shower walls was actually peeling off the wall. They installed tile over the peeling water proofing and unsealed wall boards. They told me that rough inspecions were done and insisted that I pay 80% of the contract value upon rough completion. Unfortunately, I paid it. But the quality of the work was so bad, that I finally had to fire them. I checked in with the building inspector after I fired them, and found out that they had not done the rough inspection after all. They did rough electrical and rough plumbing, but not the building and fireproofing inspection. And they had closed all the walls, which are not supposed to be closed until the building inspection. The inspector required that I rip out all the walls in the bathrooms to inspect. When the walls were removed, we saw that there was insufficient insulation, no firestopping in the pipe chase, cut studs that were not properly reinforced, and no vent piping from the bathroom ventilation units. I had to pay another contractor to do demolition, and then fix all the problems. I had to buy new ventilation units (the ones I had specified in the first place), all new tile (since the tiled walls had to be demolished. I lost thousands of dollars having to fix the mess they made. And to add insult to injury, I tried suing in Small Claims Count and Junior Vicente didn't show up twice when trials were scheduled. Please, please, please DO NOT hire Socelvic. I hope no one has to go through what I just went through.

    North Eastern Construction Specialists
NorthEastern came to the rescue and was the solution! My client, the owner and I are completely thrilled with the work, the drafts no longer exist, the area well insulated. Drafts and heat loss around the windows are now a thing of the past, new dry wall installed. Heating bills down, and my client 100% satisfied. What could be better? I highly recommend Marcos, a person with decades of construction experience. Due to his construction division, it was very convenient to have new dry wall installed as well. Marcos is mild mannered, professional and pleasant to work with. Looking forward to working with them again in the near future.

Jeff Veglia Remodeling & Tile Contracting
We found Jeff and his team friendly and professional throughout, flexible about making the work fit in the budget, and effective at communicating how to optimize. The selection of items like tiles and kitchen counter was not trivial over email and phone, but Jeff worked with us to make sure the components were what we wanted and the design was simple but classy as we requested. Once the work started it was completed efficiently, on budget, and with good attention to detail. If I have any issue, it was that it took several months for the work to start. However, Jeff did warn up front that it would take a while before they could get to our unit, and we wanted to get the kitchen renovation done ASAP, once the work was begun, so the delay was anticipated. If we do any work in the future, Jeff will be my first call.

    McCarthy Plastering
Colin is the type of tradesman you hope to hire when you need work done on your house. I cannot speak highly enough of him and his work. From start to finish with this project, he was responsive, punctual, honest, and hard working. The price for the project was very reasonable. This is a MESSY job, but Colin and his crew cleaned up meticulously after each day, and did a fabulous job of containing the mess to just the rooms they were working in, and taped down paper along the hardwood floors in areas they were walking through outside of those rooms. Colin went above and beyond, helping to patch a few other ceiling holes created by the electricians (he did this at no extra cost, and was gracious about it). He even helped to move some really heavy furniture out of the rooms that I could not do by myself. And he did not try to up-sell me on other projects like other contractors -- much appreciated. The end quality of his work was fabulous -- smooth, even ceilings. I would hire him again in an instant. Highly, highly recommended.
