    Phalan Construction & The Handyman
Rob is a pro, a perfectionist well worth every cent. He does not cut corners! He gets right the first time, and has added a lot of value to our home. Everyone who has seen his work cannot believe that he alone did it, and at a bargain price!

    Stan Hope Home Improvement Inc.
Fastidious care of the project was done by Mr. Souza, who did all of the carpentry and painting involved and had very able subcontractors for the plumbing, electrical, and tiling work. Was very neat, polite, and professional. Would not complete any part of the project if he were dissatisfied so far. Always willing to change plans if we had a change of mind. We have rehired him for another job and referred him to our son.

    Green Valley Construction
When me and my husband bough our first condo we wanted to hire someone to do a built in for us as we had limited space. We found Green Valley Construction on Craigslist and reached out to them. We were so happy with the work they did that now almost 8 years later they are the first ones we call when we need any contractor for our home. Most recently, just after we bough our first house, we needed a contractor for a few jobs. Green Valley Construction built us a beautiful new deck and outside stairs and installed new doors. As always we were very happy with their work! They are very responsive, finish on time and provide helpful advice on each of the projects.

New England Home & Glass, LLC.
Excellently! Technician arrived promptly as promised, came with the parts needed, quoted me a very fair price, and performed the work immediately. 100% happy with the job and overall interaction with this vendor. Their office is in Mashpee, just over the Cape Cod Canal, but they routinely do a lot of work in the Greater Boston area and were certainly willing to come to Brookline. I would not hesitate to call them for any indoor or outdoor glass-related work.

Excellent installation and support for replacement patio door. Bought a Harvey Classic vinyl sliding patio door to replace a twenty-plus year old failed door that was original to the house. Installers were clean, polite, and very professional. Price was very fair. Would hire again for a similar job.

Lenny and his associate Steven do a great job. I have had them work on 4 properties of mine in the Boston area and it seems like there is nothing they can't do, and at a very affordable price. Some of the projects they have done for me include: Replacing windows Build new walls to subdivide spaces, move bedrooms/bathrooms Build a 3 story deck Rebuild a wrap around front porch Install cabinetry Install tiles in bathrooms These gentlemen are reliable, communicative, and clean up. I will continue to hire for all of my projects.

I called Lior at 9PM, thinking I'd have to leave a message ... which I did but he called me back within minutes. He said he'd come the next morning and would call while en route to the house. He was communicative and prompt. He arrived and assessed the situation before beginning to work quickly and professionally. He was a pleasure to talk to as well. Smart, clear, well-spoken, easygoing, good sense of humor. I would hire him again in an instance! Thank you, Lior.

I've had them put in a barn style slide in door. He's actually rerouted duck work and heating system. He's done remodeling closets, just whatever. We've been very happy with his work. He's very meticulous about giving you an estimate and giving you an invoice. You know you can compare to other people. He's very fair, when he does the pricing it goes way back to what you're signing up for. He's very fair on price, it's perfectly priced.I would say he's very thoughtful and careful, so he's a good problem solver, I don't think that's the word but when he's looking at a project he has an efficient way to do it. He has great pride in his work and very proud about what he's does and he's just a pleasure to work with.

    Socelvic Co
The project was a disaster. They did demolition on my apartment and did a terrible job of cleaning up. There was debris everywhere and the job site was unsafe and filthy. After demolition, they went away and did no work for 6 weeks. As this was a rental apartment, time was of the essence since I was losing rental income. They didn't seem to care about my schedule. There was very little communication. My calls, texts, and emails were only sporadically answered. Once the work began in earnest, the quality of the workmanship was terrible. They didn't protect my wood floors, so they got all scratched and needed to be refinished. Even though I gave them a detailed spreadsheet of the items to order for the renovation, they ordered and installed the wrong parts. They told me that they could get me a discount off Home Depot prices, but when I saw the purchase order, the prices were actually higher than if I ordered the items myself. They had no consistent crew working on the job, so I had to explain what I needed over and over. Junior Vicente was rarely at the site, so I had to talk directly with workers that spoke little or no English to explain what needed to be done. They put in a sewer vent pipe through the roof of the house and never sealed it off with a boot, so water leaked in through three floors of the house. Drywall was installed with huge gaps between the boards and insufficient nails. Electrical rough work was done even after the rough inspection. Waterproofing placed on shower walls was actually peeling off the wall. They installed tile over the peeling water proofing and unsealed wall boards. They told me that rough inspecions were done and insisted that I pay 80% of the contract value upon rough completion. Unfortunately, I paid it. But the quality of the work was so bad, that I finally had to fire them. I checked in with the building inspector after I fired them, and found out that they had not done the rough inspection after all. They did rough electrical and rough plumbing, but not the building and fireproofing inspection. And they had closed all the walls, which are not supposed to be closed until the building inspection. The inspector required that I rip out all the walls in the bathrooms to inspect. When the walls were removed, we saw that there was insufficient insulation, no firestopping in the pipe chase, cut studs that were not properly reinforced, and no vent piping from the bathroom ventilation units. I had to pay another contractor to do demolition, and then fix all the problems. I had to buy new ventilation units (the ones I had specified in the first place), all new tile (since the tiled walls had to be demolished. I lost thousands of dollars having to fix the mess they made. And to add insult to injury, I tried suing in Small Claims Count and Junior Vicente didn't show up twice when trials were scheduled. Please, please, please DO NOT hire Socelvic. I hope no one has to go through what I just went through.

C E Smith Carpentry and Home Improvement
CE Smith never showed up... After having to check in multiple times throughout the week, they were coming on time/date set, but never showed. My calls and texts were ignored. Extremely unprofessional, beware.
