    I scheduled an appointment for service and was informed that the service call would be around 12pm the next day. I took the day off from work and waited for the individual to come the next day. I waited for approximately 1 1/2 hours. I called the main number and was informed that the person arrived to my home and waited in my driveway for 1/2 hour and left. I asked if he rang the doorbell and they stated "he probably did". I then was informed that the individual wouldn't call my cell phone but instead would just wait outside of the house. The individuals that handled the call didn't care about my situation and didn't try to resolve it. It appeared that it was my fault and the call ended. I wouldn't use this service if it was free. I value customer service and if things are shaky before you enter my home, then that tells me we shouldn't enter into business.

    After a quick review, he informed me the chimney didn't need a cleaning yet; to ask for a refund and to schedule next spring while honoring the coupon. I find that very refreshing. I asked him to review the exterior. Said he will provide an estimate on some brick repair and a needed cap to prevent the water damaging the bricks further. Scheduled the day I asked and time I asked.

    Came out to my house from a recommendation of a buddy who's had previous work done to his chimney. Not only did they come fully equipped with all the proper floor coverings, vacuums, and booties, but they even took there time. After completing the sweep we noticed that one of my caps were missing and they had offered my a combined price for the sweep and a new 13X13 cap. I couldn't be happier.

    Jimmy came out as promised and reviewed the situation.  I had an Angie's List Special.  He advised that the problem was water leaking down through the Chimney which was causing the problem.

    Jimmy told me that the Chimney could be wrapped with FSB, and that would solve the situation.  He also advised me that I should consider a Chimney Cap to prevent further problems with water degradation...

    No one recommended this before, and it only made sense.

    I have two Chimneys so I decided to go the full route, and have both done when they come back out to do the work.  (the other Chimney was already repaired by another servicer previously or I would have had Jimmy do that one as well)

    The work went great, and I would very highly recommend their services.  I would use them again.

    They were thorough, and cleaned everything up at the end.  Good attention to detail.

    Have had no issues.

    The Crew of 3 removed a major ice dam and shoveled snow off rear roofs and garage. The team did an excellant job. No extra charges were incurred. Would use them again for this service. Am not suprised to see the deal is sold out

    My appointment was for 7:30 AM... at 8:30 with no sign of them I called, and they said they had me scheduled for 8:30.  I stated I was looking at the email with a 7:30 appointment so they apologized for the mix-up (they also gave me a $10 credit which I suppose was better than nothing).  They then called back stating they had an urgent appointment and would actually be there around 11 AM, which is when they arrived.  Upon looking up the chimney the 2 gentlemen explained to me in detail how things looked and thoroughly answered my questions - they were great.  The appointment was for a sweep and cap... they did a quick sweep and then one of the gentlemen stated that they were 'given the wrong size cap' and would need to return to do the cap in the future.  This was ok since I knew they might have to measure and we might not have a standard size chimney.  When I called to order custom cap and schedule another visit, the lady was a bit defensive and corrected me stating they were not 'given' the wrong size cap... they had to custom order one.  She insisted I did not hear the man correctly, they did not provide the 'wrong size'.... not worth the argument but I know what I heard.  Communication breakdown on their end.

    A few days later my husband was doing work outside and looked inside the exterior trap at the bottom of the chimney... it was

    filthy and clogged with debris.  So I called the office to ask if that was part of the service, and the owner spoke to me and explained the reason they do not clean that part of the chimney.  I appreciated him taking the time to explain everything to me but it was still disappointing that we now have to make a separate appointment for that part of the chimney.

    When the custom cap arrived they installed it right away and we did not need to be home which was convenient. 

    All in all, the field service was good, but communicating with the office regarding scheduling, the custom cap, etc was not good.  I doubt we will use them again as the customer service experience is important to us.  I'm sure there are other companies who put out a similar product/service who can offer better customer service and be more punctual.

    Our experience with Complete Chimney Service, Inc. was very positive. In the spring, we realized some raccoons had moved into our chimney. We started calling around to local chimney services to get advice on what to do. Complete Chimney Service stood out as very friendly and helpful. They were happy to talk to us and give us advice without requiring us to make a commitment to do any work. After going over our options, we decided to wait until later in the season for the raccoons to move out on their own, and then have the chimney cleaned and rain cap put on. If we didn't want to wait, Complete Chimney Service would have humanely removed the raccoons and done the work right away. (The animal removal would have been an additional charge.)
    Toward the end of July we were pretty sure the raccoons had moved out, so we called Complete Chimney Service and made an appointment for them to come and do the work. They made two visits. The first visit was to make sure the raccoons were gone and to do a thorough cleaning and inspection. During this visit they scoped out the bigger job (installing the rain cap) so they could put together a detailed estimate for that work. After the cleaning, they put a temporary cover over the flues to make sure the raccoons didn't come back before the cap could be put on. The cleaning and inspection was $175.
    They gave us several options for the rain cap job, some of which were more costly than others. We decided to go with a more extensive rebuilding of the chimney to bring the height up to code, in addition to installing the cap. This was the more expensive option, but it seemed to make sense as the best way to go. The workers arrived promptly in the morning on the day the job was scheduled. They worked for most of the day and finished by late afternoon. They cleaned up and left no trace that they were ever there, except for the shiny new rain cap on our now-up-to-code chimney. The cost of that work was $1385.20.
    About the cost of the service, they did a lot of work and their prices are very reasonable. Definitely in line with other chimney services. They gave us significant discounts for 1) being Angie's List members, 2) doing the work off of peak season, and 3) joining their customer loyalty program with the "Loyalty Blocks" app. The discounts totaled nearly $300 off the original estimate. They were a pleasure to work with every step of the way. They have a real personal touch, and they clearly care about their customers and want to make sure everyone is satisfied with their work. I would definitely use Complete Chimney Service again.

    I called and spoke to Jody this morning after having a second bat in my house last night. I was a bit hysterical after this traumatic experience. I have never received such amazing customer service in my life. She not only was extremely knowledgeable, but was also so compassionate. I never once felt like she was in it for the money or just trying to make a sale. She genuinely cared about my situation, particularly because I have two toddlers at home. Jody actually went out of her way to do her own research for money saving programs in my area to help get rid of the bats. She sent me several emails with useful tips, programs and information for my situation, that I otherwise would not have known about. I never felt like I was bothering her with my questions and called her probably a total of 5 times today. She was so great to work with and made sure her crew came out today, even though they were overbooked.

    When the crew came, they were professional and very courteous. They took their time to assess the situation and listen to my concerns. George was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. He took his time and was very thorough. I did, indeed, have 12 bat nests in my chimney. He was able to at least close it up for me and ease my fears so that they couldn't get back into my house. He offered several alternatives for my problem. He checked out the basement and gave several suggestions to make our gas bill much more cost effective. He also pointed out a pretty serious problem with one of my chimneys that was attached to my heating system. Again, I was an emotional mess after having a rabies scare. He was so kind and made me feel so much better about the situation. I never felt like he was rushing or trying to upsell me. When I asked if I could have my husband call him later, he was more than happy to do so and even offered to come back and speak to him in person another day.

    Bottom line, these people went above and beyond for me today. I was a complete stranger and they made me feel like family. Whether or not I can afford to do the work needed, I would definitely use them when I am financially ready. I would recommend them to anyone. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. Fair and honest people that truly went above and beyond for me today. They went into this situation full knowing that I would not be financially able to do any major work... But they still tried to help me and offer cost effective alternatives.

    And on a side note, after George left he knocked on my door again a minute later. There was an ice cream truck In front of my house and he bought my kids sponge bob ice creams;) my kids give them A++++++ as well!!

    I'm glad that I was able to schedule the Chimney Chap to come out and work on my chimney before winter really hit in earnest.  If not for the work they did, I fear that my chimney might've lost bricks by now.  They've been very honest and upfront in all their communications.  When they discovered another small defect in the course of doing their work on the crown, they took care of it for free, which I deeply appreciate.  Scott had been great about being frank with me about what work the chimney truly needed and what work would be nice, but wasn't strictly necessary, whereas a less honest provider could've easily handed me a longer list and called it all required.  All in all, it turned out very well.  There were two problems, but both were either made up for or were understandable.  The first was that the office incorrectly communicated to the crew when I would be back at the end of the job to open up the house so that the damper installation could be completed, so I returned to find nobody there and the work incomplete, the crew having left thinking that I was an hour late.  When I called them up to explain, though, Scott arranged to come all the way over from another town that same night to finish the job himself.  The other was that they did leave some debris in the yard near the chimney (mainly dried globs of mortar/concrete and some masonry fragments.)  However, given the time of year and the snow cover, I'm not surprised if they didn't notice.  I didn't notice myself until later.  So while I'm not looking forward to scraping that all up once the snow melts - and hopefully it won't cost me a lawnmower this summer - I think it's understandable under the circumstances that it happened.  Given that they've been very honest in every other respect, I can say in good faith that I don't think they willfully ignored it.  So while it's disappointing, I'm not angry about it.  The chimney looks much better, and the fireplace has been less drafty, so I am glad that I called them and I do recommend them to others.
