    Resilience Home Maintenance
We purchased a Groupon form Resilience Home Maintenance for a chimney cleaning. Dominick and Justin showed up to do the work. Everything seemed to go well at first. They talked us into purchasing a chimney cap and they installed it right then. Within six weeks, the cap started banging around whenever the wind would blow. We checked outside and could see that it was loose and flopping around. The chimney cap was either defective, or was not installed correctly. We have called and emailed Resilience repeatedly, when they bother to respond, they name a day that they will arrive to make the repair, but never show up or call. This has happened at least four times. We are assuming they do not intend to come fix the cap and we will have to call and pay another contractor to fix the problem.

    Certified Chimney Inspections
Scam artists, fake company. Bill, or James has figured out a way to produce fake reviews on angies list and homeadviser, and continues running his scam. First, he will tell you that he can clean up for about 179, and if not possible, no fee. That will turn into 100 bucks service charge. Then he will show you double sided liner, but when the team shows up to install, they will show up with the cheap stuff. That will be another 100, which they literally steal from your table. This is not legal.

    Boston's Best Chimney
Matt and his team came out to see what needed to be done at my home w/in days of my initial inquiry. They gave me a detailed breakdown of my options, and they fit my job in before winter despite having a hectic workload. I can't say enough about the professional quality of the work and the service. Boston's Best Chimney was responsive, timely, and fair throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend them.

The technician was prompt, courteous, clean, and professional. He cleaned up as he went along, and he provided me with a pdf of pictures of my fireplace and chimney flue so that I knew exactly what he was explaining. This also gave me great confidence in the work that he performed as well as an idea of what might need to be done in the future.

The owner came out and looked at the fireplace and said that he would send me an estimate. He sent me an estimate for $1,800. By what he stated, and by the price that he quoted I was under the impression that he was going to re point the chimney above the roof line. He came out one morning with 2 or 3 other workers and set up scaffolding and started working. They were there about 4 hours. and told me they were finished. While they were there, I asked them to re install a brick that had come loose on my fire place hearth. I told them I would pay extra for that. Which they did not take. While his man was doing that I payed Scott and they left. After the mortar dried The hearth looked terrible. I went out to look at what they did out side and found that instead of re pointing the entire chimney above the roof line, they sporadically stuck mortar in joints here and there. I sent an email to Scott explaining my disappointment and he came out and told me that he still had to seal the chimney and that that would stop it from leaking in the future. He did seal it at a later date and it did not leak for about a year. At some time after that during an other storm the chimney started leaking again. At that time since I thought that the chimney was sealed that the roof was leaking. After an additional year of trying to stop the leaking on my own I had the roof replaced. After the roof was replaced the chimney started leaking again. I called the roofing contractor and he sent out a man to look at the roof flashing at the chimney. He looked at the flashing and also looked at the chimney and took pictures of the work that the "Chimney Chap" did. I heard him call his boss and explain that it was the chimney and not the roof. He told his boss that the chimney contractor did not do a god job. He showed me the pictures. There was very little done on the upper part of the chimney. I emailed Scott and sent him the pictures. He came out and once again looked at the chimney. He told me that these type bricks are not water resistant and needed to be sealed again. For an additional cost. The chimney stood for 75 years and had never been sealed and never leaked until the mortar failed in 2013. He told me that there was nothing he could do without additional cost and left. The roofing contractor told me that he also does that type work and could do the chimney for half of what I paid the "Chimney Chap". Viola roofing and contracting sent 2 men out one afternoon and they worked 2 hours grinding out the mortar between the bricks and re pointing the entire chimney above the roof line. They did a beautiful professional job in half the time and for half ($900) the money. I would recommend them any time.

They did a great job. Respectful, on-time, gave me an honest assessment of my chimney...I will be calling them again for my annual cleaning and servicing. They even took pictures of my chimney and sent them along with a service report in an email so I could have a reference.

The guys were clean, neat and on time. Dominic was great from start to finish. He checked in the day before install, once the installers arrived and also the next day to make sure I was happy with the finished product.

The guys were great. They showed up when I was told they would. Dominic was in constant contact the days leading up to the install. He called to check in when the guys were on-site and also the following day to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction.

Michael and his crew were great!  The new roof looks great and they did it all in one day.  They were a little difficult to reach at first but well worth the wait. I highly recommend them.

He arrived earlier and took a full hour to clean and inspect the chimney which hadn't been cleaned in at least 25 years. The chinmay was oil then last yeara converted to gas. He said the chimney had only minor debris and recommended we install liner eventually and a better rain cap and also to add a clean out door.  He addressed why we could need a liner and what to do until we have a liner installed (ie carbon monoxide alarm on all floors).  All in all we are very happy with the service provided and the attention to detail with both the work done and talking about the liner, etc recommendations. We highly recommend Chimney Chap.
